...Marshall Valvestate amplifiers have long had a reputation in the trade for providing great tone at a budget price. I play my Ibanez S Series through one of the older 8240 Stereo models and I would completely agree that their reputation is fully justified. Sparkling clean tone (not exactly what Marshall are famous for) which can be dirtied up to the point of overdrive using the crunch button, a choice of two different overdrive voicings on the dirty channel and full separate EQ for each channel. The dirty channel also has a contour control to allow easier achievement of the Hetfield and associates "scooped" tone. The stereo chorus and effects loop is also a definate plus. From what I have heard, the new valvestates models have improved on this model considerably, with a more versatile range of controls, three channels in some models... Read review

Advantages: Gives your car the dump valve sound without increasing insurance premiums
Disadvantages: Does nothing to increase your cars speed and the sound is always the same

There had been two other Albums released between this and its predecessor Worldwide, but these were essentially compilation Albums. One called Acoustic, released in the United States only and featuring as you may guess from the title, Acoustic versions of some of their previously released songs. The other a proper compilation of their Greatest Hits called Home Movies. ...I bought this album ages ago, and today walked over to the CD rack and noticed it peering down at me: "Everything But The Girl, Amplified Heart". They say good music lasts forever, so why should a good album like this die, even if it was released in 1994. OK, first off. What is it? Is it pop? Rock? Dance? Well it's pretty slow, miserable music. But in a slow "he's left me" sort of way. It's probably pop if you were to caregorise. But I hate categorising. It's not the cheesy sort of Britney Aguilera does Madonna's greatest hits, but what music should be: from the heart, soulful and good. You may have heard of them, you may not have. But they have made albums all the way from 1984's 'Eden' up to 2000's 'Temperamental'. The biggest hit of the album is the 11th track, Missing (Todd Terry Club Mix). Advantages: Great value for money, LOUD, superb quality and a few effects chucked in

...I went halves with my parents for my 18th birthday and got the amplifier head and sloped 4x4 speaker cabinet (top 2 items in the picture). What can I say, its amazing, superb quality in terms of sound, build, look, versatility and effects. It has an fdd feature (forgotten what it standards for) but it basically makes the amp act like a valve amplifier (typically used by bands from the 70's and 80's) in that the louder the guitar/amp is turned up the more distorted the sound gets. This allows a range of sounds just by changing the volume control on your guitar. It works out sooooo much cheaper than a real valve amp but still has a similar sound and looks the business. ...First of all, if you need to ask the price then this probably isn't the amplifier for you. It costs £750 for the amplifier, but after the cost of decent speakers and cabling you are looking at well over £1000. The reason for buying this amplifier is purely for sound quality, as pure as pure sound can be. As the name implies, it has 5 channels. 4 for upfront speakers and on dedicated to a sub woofer in the boot. The first 4 channels can be loaded down to 2 ohms each giving up to 80 WRMS per channel, with 4 ohm bridging between channels 1 & 2 and channels 3 & 4, all with a whole range of crossovers to suite any speaker system on the market. The 5th channel can be loaded down to 1 ohm and punches out up to 400 WRMS, also with all the crossover settings you could possibly need. The amplifier arrives in a very fancy box with instruction... ...Despite that the amplifier looks old, may be you don judge the product by the looks rather you try and get the quality service. It" s services has lead me to satisfactory and the most exiting of all is that is very durable and strong. It has served quite long in my household. Well forming the habit of playing rock music with it is not a bad idea and that is what I actually do with it. Before I got this, I got confused and I had very strong debates on whether to buy a home theater or to buy an amplifier.
