...INTRODUCTION Myself and Ms Larsbaby have spent our vacation this summer in Canada, visiting both the east and west coasts on our travels. This is an account of our travels on the West coast, in the city of Vancouver, in the province of British Columbia. For those of you who like my restaurant reviews, I'll be taking a look at some of the places I mention in more detail in due course! Vancouver: Spectacular by Nature

Advantages: Pretty much perfection

Vancouver Island-A Wildlife watchers dream.

Advantages: Clean air, Beautiful scenery, very helpful and friendly people
Disadvantages: Not enough time to see and do everything

...the cheapest yet first class way to travel to Canada, flying on the stylish Airbus A330, which have lots of leg room, and your own personal TV screen in the headrest in front of you. For an extra £7 you can also choose your preferred seat. I left Manchester Airport on 6th June at 10.45am and arrived at the first stop which was Calgary around about 12.30 (Pacific Time) to drop off and pick up passengers before onward to Vancouver, in all the flight time is about 8 1/2 hours and I was able to watch 3-4 films I'd never seen before in that time. Vancouver Airport is a massive place and comprises two airports, one for internal and local flights and the other is the main International airport. West Coast Canada shows off it's Asian credentials

Advantages: Good food, good service, great prices, huge menu
Disadvantages: It's a 10 hour trip to get there

...a packet. CONCLUSION Noodle Express was a good example of excellent, authentic Japanese food in Vancouver, of which we saw several. The sizeable portions filled both of us up, and the friendly service kept us happy. The bill of $25 seemed fair enough to me. Vancouver: the only habitable city

...I love Vancouver. It has all the amenities of a big North American city, but it is small enough to be friendly. It is multicultural and lively, with a superb waterfront. But that isn't what makes it special. Vancouver is special because of its location. It is set on the sea across the water fron Vancouver Island. Within easy reach are high, spectacular mountains, water sports, bears, orcas, grey whales, porpoises and dolphins, sea lions, fantastic skiing and native american culture. The Rockies are a long day's drive away, with other breathtaking scenery in between. It rains a lot here but the people who complain about that come from California. I found it much better than say, Manchester. If you run out of things to do (never !) then Seattle and an equally bewildering array of options is a busride away....

Tips for going to Vancouver

...I booked Westin Grand hotel through internet www.westin.com There is a special rate for internet user which the cheapest room only cost 154 Canadian dollars pre tax. The rack rate for the hotel is fairly hefty, starting from 280 Canadian dollars pre tax. So it is worth the hustle to book through internet with that amount of saving! The hotel situated right opposite the Vancouver City Library and is very modern and only opened in April 1999, so it is fairly new. It is situated on Robson Street (the equivalent of Oxford Street in London)So it is very central and handy for everywhere. All the rooms in the hotel have a kitchette with sink, microwave oven and utensils and a dishwasher. VANCOUVER ISLAND-Most beautiful place on earth

...I am a huge fan of the US, but even stronger is my love for Vancouver Island. I spent 2 weeks there at my friend in the Courtenay/Comox area in octobre 1995 and three more weeks in june 1996. During that time I saw a lot of this Island and its beauty, as well as the city of Vancouver itself. Well I start with the Courtenay/Comox area. In this area you can find anything. An airport (Canadian Air Force and Civil flights), an harbour (ferry to the mainland), shopping opportunities, night clubs, beautieful nature, Mt.Washington (skiing till from october to may possible), several golf courses and beaches. ...at the age of fifteen 1 and a half years ago i visited Canada. it is the most expensive and the best holiday i have ever been on. whilst on our travels we stayed withe som friends of my dads who lived in vancouver. it is a reall pleasant place. it was helped by the fact we were right next to the local hills (more like mountains). they were outstandigly beautiful with many nature walks it was idyllic apart from the threat of bears which is uncommon generally unless there has been a particularly hard winter in which case they can stray near to civilisation in hope of food. not only was the scenery wonderful but dare i say it so was the city its self. in structure and sight it appears no different really to some american cities but it was a damn sight more enjoyable and it was very pleasant. there seemed to be an air of friendliness...
