Plas Equestrian starter harness great first harness, machine wash

Advantages: adjustability of the roko buckles and the machine wash
Disadvantages: Blinkers are a bit square and stiff

...I have this harness for my Shetland pony and find it excellent it really molds to her body shape and i think she finds it comfortable and a good fit, she goes very well in it. The roko fully adjustable buckles mean you can get the fit just right. The only down side i would say is the bridle as the blinkers are a bit stiff and you cannot mould them to fit around the eye. I use a traditional bridle with this harness but the plas equestrian bridle would be ok to start off with with pre driving training. The machine wash is what drew me to this, you can literally just chuck it in the wash and bung it on the line to dry, brilliant time saver - it washes well. All round good reasonably priced harness for training and pleasure driving....

Disadvantages: Worn car parking area. Garish carpeting in the Pavillion suite.

A Ghostly visit... to tour? Or not to tour?

Advantages: The grim history of the building - and some amazing rooms with period furniture.
Disadvantages: If you really are looking for ghosts and presences... perhaps look somewhere else.

The Little Boy's Heavy Mental Shadow Opera

Advantages: A great modern metal opera.
Disadvantages: The concept and lyrics themselves are far from riveting.

...I was a little wary in approaching Andy Kuntz's rock opera solo project, as the rather naffly poetic lyrics and daydream subject matter (not to mention the silly long title) smelled malodorously like a cheap Ayreon knock-off gone even more pansy. Thus, I was very pleasantly surprised indeed to discover a pleasant and highly enjoyable fusion of prog rock and metal, no doubt inspired by Arjen Lucassen and many others, instead of a large slab of festering cheese about a magical toyland and things. Though admittedly, that does come into it a bit. Kuntz's voice (yes his name sounds a bit like a rude word, let's all grow up can we?) excels here even more than in his more well-known prog metal band Vanden Plas, his expressive and exciting wail perfectly capturing the rock opera feel, without rising too high to put off those unaccustomed to...

It lasts forever and a day if looked after.

Advantages: cheap to run, reliablity,capable of 150,000 miles+

Advantages: It Brings Back Many Memories. Some Forgotten Rare Cars Here. Interesting Cutaway Drawings.
Disadvantages: Dreadfully Repetitious. Annoying Mid-Atlantic Terminology. Many Unfair Entries. Superficial Text.

.... The three separate entries for the Austin Princess, Wolseley Six 18 / 22 Series and Austin Ambassador stretch this to the limit. All three cars were badge engineered versions of the Princess, the Ambassador being a face-lifted and hatchbacked version, the only survivor in an originally much larger range of cars. Also given the same treatment, the Austin Allegro and Vanden Plas 1500, the VP1500 being the luxury model of the Allegro. Not that luxury and Allegro sit very comfortably in the same sentence! I have to say here, that were I to draw up a list of the worst cars that I have driven, the Allegro would be in number one or two spot, I could never at the time make up my mind which terrified me the most, a 1750cc Austin Maxi, or an Allegro with a twin carburettor version of the same engine. A Drive Down Memory Lane

Advantages: fun, diverse range of attractions, excellent value for money.
Disadvantages: poor gift shop, a couple of tired looking exhibits.

I can tell you that I loved everything about the section from 1900 to the early 1930's, and particularly the car that had a brass plate on the floor underneath the pedals stating which one was the brake and which one was the clutch. The period that was my favourite though, perhaps with my father's influence in mind, was the fifties and sixties. The MGB Roadster, the Austin Metropolitan, the Vanden Plas Princess, all of the Wolseleys (a car I had never heard of before), all of these cars were amazing. I am a Nissan Micra driver and it was as much as I could do to marvel sometimes at the sheer size of some of the cars. They look so cumbersome, so unresponsive. But what do I know? I haven't spoken to him since I've been back, but I am sure my Dad and indeed my Grandad would have one or two things to say...
