Warm and snuggly in my nice sleeping bag
Review of Vango - Ultralite 1100 sleeping bag by
absurd_luck
Advantages: Quality
Disadvantages: Expensive
...This sleeping bag has served me well for a long time. I have had it for a few years now and it isn't even showing signs of wear. Vango has not disappointed.
Although it is relatively expensive you are paying for quality.
I have trekked with this in my pack and it has left plenty of room for all the other essentials, such as tent, clothes, food, etc... This sleeping bag is definately a great buy.
My only problem with it is that it did not keep me warm in the winter, but this was to be expected as it is not advertised to be all that effective in conditions below -10 degrees.
I would recommend this to any serious camper/hiker for the spring/summer months.
It is easy to pack down and compress in the bag given, with compression straps. Ends up in at a very manageable size, although not the smallest you can get. The price...

Good out of car camping sleeping bag
Review of Vango Nitestar 350 Sleeping Bag by
andyyaris
Advantages: Warm and good price
Disadvantages: Bulky and heavy
...I bought this as i needed a warm winter sleeping bag for some out of car camping and it is ideal. It is basically a duvet with a nylon outercoating.
I am a very warm person and can often use the extreame guidence as my comfort zone regarding the temperature. Recently I was camping in the peak distict (middle of Novemeber) the temperature went down to -4c and I was as warm as toast. I have lent it to friends of mine who hs started to get cold at around freezing, which is probably a more realistic value for the bag.
It is very comfortable inside, you cannot feel any seams or the zip, the hood fits nicely over you head without blocking your face and generally has a lot of room inside (im 6'1 and 16 stone). It has a nice soft feel inside and a general feeling of quality
I do a lot of backpacking type camping all over the country...

Vango's Erections
Review of Vango TBS Equinox 600 Tunnel Tent by
sdwill
Advantages: Lightweight, spacious, well made
Disadvantages: fiddly to put up
...It’s only an op about a tent……honestly!
Who’s that fella Vango anyway………….?!
I consider myself a hardened camper. My experiences range from a bivvy bag above the Boulder Ruckle in Swanage, to a budget Millets 2-pole tent on the Orkneys, from family holidays in Harlech under a vast canvas and steel construction to New Years Eve in a Vango Force Ten Mk5 in Langdale, as well as several seasons in the Swiss Alps, plus many, many other trips. I have camped in rain, wind, sleet, snow, sun and thunderstorms. I have pitched a tent halfway up a mountain, in tropical jungle, in a lay-by and on the beach. I have had my tents blown away, been soaked to the skin, eaten by midges, infested by ants (and once a hedgehog) and still come back for more.
Right, we thought, it’s time to introduce the children to this fabulous pastime...

Vango Predator 450
Review of Vango 400 Predator by
chriscookson
Advantages: Warm, Extreme
Disadvantages: Size
...The Vango Predator 450 is a flagship synthetic bag packed with features to make this one of the best bags proving plenty of bang, for your buck.
"The Predator range of sleeping bags is designed for use at the extreme limit. Available in mummy or square. Predators will be used by experienced campers, mountaineers and expedition members who will only use the highest performance sleeping bag suitable for the most hostile environments. Highly compressible Dupont Thermolite Extra is used in conjunction with Thermolite Micro for the ultimate warmth to weight ratio."
As stated this bag is for use in slightly more 'wild' conditions, where some down bags would provide to much heat and most synthetic bags wouldnt provide enough. Although this bag has the disadvantage with most synthetic bags, the size, it does hold most of the properties...

warm & cozy
Review of Vango - Ultralite 1100 sleeping bag by
colman
Advantages: warm
Disadvantages: not cheap
...The Vango Ultralite range of sleeping bags are not the cheapest on the market but you get what you pay for - excellent quality.
The 1100M bag comes in right or left zip version and is rated at 3-4 seasons - which means it should do you most of the year round in the UK.
I have certainly never had a cold night in it.
It is filled with Thermolite Plus which makes it very warm but still quite light and compact. It has a shoulder baffle which really helps to keep the cold out when the weather turns a bit chilly.
I have found all Vango products to be of an excellent quality and this sleeping bag is no exception - I would have no hesitation in recommending it to a friend.
please rate this opinion before you leave - thanks!...

Vango Venture 500
Review of Vango Venture 500 by
PaulineLees
Advantages: Good Size, Brilliant Value, High Quality, Sturdy, Easy to Erect
Disadvantages: None that I can think of!
...I purchased my Vango Venture 500 towards the end of 2006. For the bargain price of £85.00 and I haven't looked back since! Numourus camping trips have bee happily spent in this tent and it will see many more!
The frame consists of 2 large poles crossing over to make the main dome, and a 3rd smaller pole creating a loop for the porch area. Once erect, with all pegs and guide ropes in place the tent is extremely strong and stable. We have camped in strong winds and strong rain and it has stood strong throughout.
As long as there are two of you, erecting the tent is a swift and easy process. Funnily enough you tend to erect it faster when its raining! And packing it back into the bag is an art the first time but you tend to remember how to do it from then onwards and it's easy enough. When packaged, the tent is relatively heavy...

Winnie The Pooh sleeping bag 0-6 months
Review of Mothercare 2.5 tog Sleeping Bags by
Bandi2709
Advantages: snug and comfortable for baby
Disadvantages: can be expensive to buy
...Who hasn't been woken up in the middle of the night by a cold, screaming baby who has kicked his covers off, only to cover him again and, 20 minutes later, "wahhh"!!! Thank heavens for sleeping bags.
I purchased my first sleeping bag for my daughter when she was just 6 weeks of age. She hadn't been sleeping particularly well and everytime I checked on her, I found the blankets kicked off and her cold! I had read about sleeping bags in the Mothercare catalogue I had at home and so it was there that I made my purchase.
The idea of a sleeping bag is to replace the need for top sheets and blankets. You will still need the base sheet which covers the mattress. They are ideal for babies who are quite "active" in their sleep and who kick off their covers. They help to keep baby at the right temperature, help to make it much harder...

The Warmest Sleeping Bag On Earth
Review of Snowy Owl Sleeping Bag by
Barningham2-uk2004
Advantages: Extremely Warm. Considerable Amount Of Down
Disadvantages: I Can't Think Of Any
...I have wanted one of these bags ever since I slept in one, the first time I went to a cold part of the United States. A friend of mine let me use his, as I couldn't carry too much with weight restrictions on the flight over to LAX from England. I know you are thinking, why did I need to sleep in a bag that is so thick and warm, when I was in a warm part of the USA. Will I was actually staying 8,000 feet above sea level, in the middle of Winter.
Description From The Web Site:
"Our goal with the Snowy Owl was simple: design the warmest sleeping bag in the world. Maintaining a mammoth 11-1/2 inches of loft at a constant thickness over the entire body, the Snowy Owl fulfills this goal at what is relatively speaking, an extremely light weight sleeping bag. The Snowy Owl was designed with a fully contoured shoulder, hood, and permanent...
