MDA Vario II
Review of T-Mobile MDA Vario II by
lindachurch
Advantages: Big Screen, Easy to Use
Disadvantages: Battery life
...-Basics-
To look at the MDA Vario II you have a very stylish and sleek mobile phone. Looking at my phone you have a large screen (2½” by 2”) in full clear colour with only minimal buttons underneath it, give it a gentle push to the side a full QWERTY keyboard is revealed with easy to use buttons whilst on the back you have a 2 mega pixel camera with a flash and mirror for self portraits. On the edges the phone has various short-cut buttons, a limitless scroll wheel, a memory card slot (microSD) and a stylus holder.
Within the phone you have the basic platform of Windows Mobile 5, and within this you get a large amount of features including; Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, MSN messenger, Internet Explorer, Windows Media Player, an organiser, and many more. All of these are easy to use and can either be used...

T-Mobile MDA Vario II
Review of T-Mobile MDA Vario II by
voodoo_melon
Advantages: Nice size/weight, bright screen, very connctable
Disadvantages: Short, light stylus
...I've had my Vario II (also known as HTC Hermes, HTC TyTn, Orange SPV M3100 among others) a couple of weeks now and am very pleased with it. It's currently running Windows Mobile 5 (which it comes with as standard), which handles all tasks fine. The screen is nice and bright and very easy to read, despite being smaller than a normal PDA. It's a nice size and makes my old Acer n10 seem big and bulky. Loads of connection options - IrDA, bluetooth, wifi, usb2, GPRS/3G mean you've got loads of was of using it. Being on T-Mobile it also comes with MSN Messenger (other networks remove it but you can get it back with an upgrade to Windows Mobile 6) which along with email, texts and mms mean it's easy to keep in contact.
It runs Tomtom 6 nicely (although it needs a small patch available on the net) and gives you a Transflash/MicroSD slot...

T-Mobile MDA Vario II
Review of T-Mobile MDA Vario II by
natty250
Advantages: All round PDA, compact
Disadvantages: Low battery Life for heavy use.
...My girlfriend recently upgraded her contract with T-Mobile, and in the process chose the MDA Vario II. I'm going to get one as soon as my current contract expires. Its that good.
Whilst being larger than a normal phone its fairly compact for a PDA, which, in my opinion is a good thing. The screen has a good resolution, is bright, and I've never had any difficulty in seeing/reading anything from it.
It comes with a large range of features on it - such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, MSN, a calculator, calender, and laods more. In addition to this you can add programs yourself. All you need to do is search the web for the "MIDlets" you want, and then either download them directly to you phone, or, if you want to download them to your PC, and then transfer them across to your phone to install them.
With T...

The best mobile device ever... period!
Review of T-Mobile MDA Vario II by
sosull
Advantages: Unbeatable connectivity, intergrated keyboard, has full WM 5.0 OS, great camera, excellent build quality
Disadvantages: Battery life, screen attracts fingerprints
...------------------------------------
You what? You're reviewing the stylus? Well... yeah, it comes as part of the phone and I'm sure you'll end up using it quite a bit so I think its worth a mention. As I said earlier in the review, the Stylus slots inside the phone from the bottom. Interestingly enough the Stylus is telescopic - in other words it expands to twice its size when pulled upon; so those of you with larger hands will be able to hold it with ease. It's tough too, so it won't slide back down during use, plus its durable so it'll last a long time also. You get two of these.
Camera
------------------------------------
The Vario II comes with a 2 Megapixel camera with flash and Macro mode. The quality of this camera is excellent of the 2 Megapixel lens you're provided with and the Macro mode works excellently. You also get a number of different modes available...

MDA Vario
Review of T-Mobile MDA Vario by
PCERM1
Advantages: Excellent grapics and business management capabilities
Disadvantages: Large and cumbersome. Missing the basics that come with most new phones.
...The T-Mobile Vario is in effect a smart phone incorporating a pocket PC with some interesting features. It was probably designed to try to counter the stronghold that the Blackberry had on the UK marketplace as a business machine capable of running an appointment diary, accessing the internet, sending and receiving emails and of course being used as a mobile telephone amongst a range of other features.
As a working machine the Vario is very good at what it does. With a sliding keyboard it is possible to type relatively quickly and accurately and also has a number of touch screen features with excellent graphics. The touch screen also incorporates a keyboard or it can be scribbled on with the stylus which has a number of ways of recognising the graphics and words written onto the screen. As a phone it is practical, albeit...

Karcher K2.35 Pressure Washer
Review of Karcher K2.35 by
blackhawk204
Advantages: Compat, lightweight, easily portable, value for money!
Disadvantages: Small detergent tank.
...It got to the point where I had worn down the bristles on my yard brush trying to clean the patio for the umpteenth time and so decided to venture into the pressure washer era. I didn't want to spend a large amount but didn't want to buy the cheapest of the cheap, thankfully Karcher answered my call.
The K2.35 is a fantastic bit of kit, boasting a 1600w motor, 100bar pressure, 360 litres per hour, waterflow and 6 metres of high pressure hose. I found it to be compact, lightweight and easily portable. The auto start/stop feature is a plus, allowing the use to stop the unit without returning to it.
Coming complete with soft wash brush, (perfect for the car and house windows), vario lance, (enables you to adjust the pressure output at the turn of a nozzle for use on more delicate items), dirtblaster, (for the stubborn areas...

My first pocket pc
Review of T-Mobile MDA Vario by
hugdealer
Advantages: it's a phone with a keyboard
Disadvantages: can be tricky to customise features
...you cut into the elasticated side panel - this means you have to either carry the phone in your hand or stick it in a pocket, I'm a girl - any pockets we get in clothes are not suitable for actually carrying things as heavy as this so it's likely to fall out - not practical at all.
If you are a gadget freak (and I mean that in the best possible way) and like to change things around, tweak and update devices, if you look around on the web there are a hundred and one sites offering suggestions for just that - though rather than searching just on the "mda vario" it would be an idea to also search for the "htc wizard" since that's it's official make and model
Now, downloading games.
Since I hate to pay for anything I can possibly get for free one of the first things I did was search for J2ME files and applications - the choice...

Great for gadget lovers or techie business users.
Review of T-Mobile MDA Vario by
Izzard-UK
Advantages: Good screen and keyboard, WiFi, packed with features.
Disadvantages: A bit chunky and a bit buggy.
...This phone is made by HTC and is actually a "Wizard". It is called "MDA Vario" by T-mobile, but it's branded differently by other providers, e.g. "Qtek 9100", "i-Mate K-JAM", "Orange SPV M6000", "O2 XDA Pro Mini".
It comes with a carrying case, USB cable, charger, a spare stylus, stereo hands-free earphones, a decent manual, ActiveSync and Outlook.
I chose it because it is a combined PDA and phone, based on Microsoft "Windows Mobile 5" (Pocket PC) operating system. The processor in this phone runs at a slower clock speed than similar Windows Mobile phones that have preceded it, but the architecture and the new operating system should make this fact unnoticeable most of the time, while providing better battery life.
I've actually found the battery life to be adequate and no more. I can reliably drain the battery by the end...

*Stunning 7.2 Megapixels*
Review of Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W70 by
mightyd
Advantages: Great Quality Pictures- 7.2 Megapixel. light weight and slim line
Disadvantages: None really
...and a huge 2.5-inch LCD screen which is much bigger than other cameras where you would only expect to see a 2 inch screen or something as little as a 1.5 inch screen. The camera, like all the other digital cam's from the cybershot range all have a Carl Zeis lens which in this case is named a Vario-Tessar lens - With it's stunning 3x optical zoom, you can't really go wrong with this camera. It has 6x digital zoom which is great but remember when you are looking to buy a camera, you should pay no attention to the digital zoom as the optical zoom is by far the most important. It has a Movie recording mode which is actaully really decent quality but remember it won't be anything like taking a movie with a camcorder, but it's still good quality. Despite the fact that you have to remember not to take too many movies because they take up far more...

Six month ownership review - Sony V3 7.2mp Camera
Review of Sony Cyber-shot DSC-V3 by
alexpeck
Advantages: Excellent image quality and ease of use
Disadvantages: Size and weight
..., I would recommend an upgrade - the difference is noticeable in shutter time and acquire time. The 7.2mp is also top of the class - it produces pictures approx 5metres x 5metres if you scale to 100% (almost billboard size!) and lets you magnify any little bit of the picture up to a printable size.
Full specifications (from Sony website)
* 7.2 Effective Megapixel CCD
* Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar Lens
