I was therefore on the lookout for something which was going to help and protect them. ...For some reason, everybody sniggers when you mention vaseline!! It is a wonderful skin care treatment and the Lip Therapy product is fantastic. HISTORY +++++++ Vaseline is petroleum jelly. Petroleum Jelly was first discovered in 1859 in America, apparantly it caused problems for the oil riggers as it caused the rigs to cease up, but they loved using it on their hands!! A chemist named Cheesebourogh discovered the healing properties of Petroleum Jelly and opened a factory in 1870 to make Vaseline. Apparantly he ate a teaspoonful of it every day. Yuck!! According to some sources, the word Vasline comes from two words, the German word for water, Wasser and the Greek word for oil, elain. ...I've tried quite a few lip products. I have had a couple of operations on my mouth and my lips have been drier after these operations, than you would believe and they were very sore too. I think the thing that says it all for me about this product (and the other ones in the range, like the sun protection version) is that this is what hospitals use if you have an op on the mouth. And the reason for that - is that it works the best! It's very thick, so you can put loads on if you want to, or just a little to make the lips soft and shiny. It's very small and easy to pop in a small bag. It's really cheap, I usually get it from Bodycare for 99p. It's just a small version of normal vaseline,with aloe vera added. It's in a small tin. ...This review is on the Vaseline Lip Therapy with Aloe Vera. I brought this lip treatment a while ago and i use it all the time, all throughout the day. It is petroleum jelly and is amazing! I mentioned in a previous that the Palmers Lip Butter was my favourite, but i have to say that this has taken over. Aloe Vera is very good for softening the skin. It is a natural ingredient that soothes and calms. My lips are the driest and always get chapped. It doesn't help that i bite my lips as well. The first use of this lip therapy will soften your lips and instantly make the look visibily kissable. It works by softening the dry skin and this makes it look like it isn't there anymore. I would highly recommend this product as the value for money is brilliant. It lasts for a long time and the feel of it on your lips is so smooth...
