Vauxhall Astra Coupé 1.8
Review of Vauxhall Astra Coupé 1.8i by themotor

Advantages: Looks, Quick, Safe Handler, Spacious
Disadvantages: Tuneless exhaust/engine note

...comfort. There is the usual Vauxhall gusto in the engine, with a set of well-spaced ratios allowing for the car to pull stronger than the 1.8 displacement would belie. There is a meatiness to the helm, which isn't always a given with Vauxhall, providing confidence when driven with commitment and a remarkable resistance to understeer when needed. Boot space is also generous, although access to it is slightly contrived by a boot opening rather than ... Read review

My short review on the astra 1.6
Review of Vauxhall Astra SXi 1.6 hatchbacki by bryntwr10

Advantages: Smooth, slick and sexy.
Disadvantages: Reverse always clunks, fuel consumption, interior mirror falling off

Basically I wanted the 1.8 VVT, but the insurance for my age on a 1.8 VVT was 2200 (I am 18 years old) So i decided why not take a look at the 1.6 Sxi. So I ended up buying it , insurance costing me £1400. I didnt end up with the edsact car I wanted because I am not alowed factory fitted bodykits or small spoilers or my insurance would have been void with directline (Dont risk it, You crash they win) In all I am happy with the car, although its ...
...40pence p/m which isnt too bad I must say. One thing I dont like, the interior mirror fell off yesterday and swung into my face whilst I was driving (my car is an 06 plate, didnt expect this) Then it took around an hour for me to get it back on ... Read review

Vauxhall Astra SRi 1.8 hatchback
Review of Vauxhall Astra SRi 1.8 hatchback by mickle026

Advantages: Very reliable car
Disadvantages: fuel consumption not great

Being over 6 feet tall, I found this car very comfortable, with all the gadgets in good locations and the seat being comfortable over long distances. Very comfortable to drive at any speed, and stops very safely. The performance is there when required and will cruise as required, I found the gear ratio good for the 30mph mark, avoiding constant changing up and down. I got a good feeling of control from this car, although it felt a little light on ...
...of junctions - nothing too serious. The overall look and appeal of the car is long lasting, this car will fit those people who change cars regularly or it will last for many years without loosing its style. The fuel consumption in the petrol model is average, not particularly good or bad. I personally like this car and would consider buying another one at a later date. ... Read review

"03" Vauxhall Astra 1.4ls 5Dr Hatchback
Review of Vauxhall Astra LS 1.4i hatchback by wegiephill

Advantages: Easy to drive, light steering, good looks
Disadvantages: No electric wing mirrors, no sunroof

The vauxhall astra has always been a car I fancied driving and when the opportunity arrose to purchase one I jumped at the chance. A silver "03" plate 1.4ls 5dr was now my girlfriend and I 's prized possession. We paid £5.000 for the car at a dealership and with that price we hoped it would be worth the money and boy it didn't disappoint. Its not a speed freak car but it has light steering, easy gear change and when you need it to go it will climb ...
...began to get faulty. The vauxhall garage informed us that for the part alone it would cost us £180. I was shocked and having a family its not easy to come up with that kind of money. I was amazed when he told me that the price was so high due to it being a genuine vauxhall part, but that if i went with another identical part it would only cost me £70. It was a huge saving and I fitted the part myself. So just wanted to tell all that if you want to ... Read review

Great seond-hand car for a student - girls view
Review of Vauxhall Astra Club 1.6i hatchback by PinkPugDancer

Advantages: Cheap, Cheap, Cheap, doesn't look too bad
Disadvantages: interior, quite big

...However, I bought a Vauxhall Astra as my first car after being a student and it cost only £250.00 which was good for a car which was only 5 years old. The insurance was reasonable considering that I was a new driver. Also the tax was not too bad. The car lasted me three years and in the whole time, mechanically the car was fine. There were a few problems with the clutch, but this was fixed at a cost of about £100.00. I do not know that much about ...
...nothing wrong with it the last time I took it to the garage. For a car that was 8 years old I thought that this was pretty impressive. The car is not too bad too look at. However the interior is pretty awful. Nothing glam just the necessities. However you get what you pay for. The only major problem I foud with the car was that it was quite large, and as a result (and being a girl, i hear you cry) I found it really hard to park. I am 5foot7 and ... Read review
