Review of Vauxhall New Astra SRi 1.8i 16v by
KELLYLOUJ
Advantages: Sexy design, sporty look, good on boot space
Disadvantages: Cheap interior appearance, not comfortable
...*~*~Introduction~*~*
This review is based on my experience of using the Vauxhall Astra each week for regular motorway journeys down South every week for work.
The Vauxhall Astra has been said to have been developed to offer technical sophistication and exceptional comfort, I wonder if my review will agree with that…read on if you wish to find out.
*~*~Exterior Appearance~*~*
The Astra SRi looks tasty I am definitely not a fan of the Vauxhall's but even I have to admit this model is a pretty attractive car.
The model I am reviewing is the 3 door hatchback complete with a sleek spoiler, body colour bumpers, mirrors and tinted glass.
My absolute pet hate is the black plastic on the Vauxhalls and the SRi has definitely skipped on this. The standard black trim on the car is replaced with colour coded trim which gives it a much...

Vauxhall Vectra 1.8i Club Hatchback
Review of Vauxhall Vectra LS 1.8i hatchback by
lostsworld
Advantages: Nice looking, good space, cheap to buy compared to similar vehicles
Disadvantages: slightly underpowered, expensive to run
...Previously owned a Ford Escort 1.6 16v EFI estate and I must say my first impressions of this car are that it is fantastic compared.
We went to a car supermarket and saw this Vauxhall Vectra on a 51 plate (looks like a club rather than LS) with 15k on clock with a price tag of £4000. The car is a nice metallic burgundy in perfect condition with new tyres all around. Being a car supermarket you cannot haggle on price so I got them to double check the mileage as it is a 4 year old car. The mileage was correct so we snapped it up considering all my other cars were bought with 60,000+ miles on them.
The car itself has a 1.8i 16v ecotek engine with apparently 122bhp. The features include airbags driver and passenger indash and in side of seats, air con, heated electric wing mirrors, electric windows(you can also close windows from...

The Science of Astra-Physics!
Review of Vauxhall Astra CD 1.8i hatchback by
daddycash
Advantages: Looks sleek, some nice features, comfortable
Disadvantages: Lack of 'feel' - a bit wallowy
...of people. It's models have ranged from vehicles suitable for the 2.4 children generation, family models with enough space for kids and a big labrador, right up to the famous GTE models with huge 16v engines and more torque (talk?!) than my mother! In recent years Vauxhall has expanded the range further with it's very sleek looking Coupé models, drawing in people previously not caught by the net. Young high-flyers in expensive suits are now happily parting with their hard-earned and really don't mind that their sporty new motor has a previously very uncool Vauxhall badge on the front.
That's not to say that it's just the Coupé model that's sleek and smart. Emma (my very pregnant other half!) picked her new company car up early last month. Having had a new Astra in her last job for a few months we knew what to expect, even though this one...

1.8i Astra Sxi
Review of Vauxhall Astra SXi 1.8i hatchback by
Smurf1873
Advantages: Well laid out , Tourque and high acceleration
Disadvantages: dull interior and boring fascia's
...Purchased a three year old model in May of 2003 , had an immediate problem with the fuel filter causing the car to cut out when revs were idling , the car came with a network q warranty and the dealer replaced immediately (also replaced the brake pads without any prompt or info from myself).
The Car came equipped with a Radio Cassette player (added a single CD player by myself) , Air conditioning , lotus sports suspension (great for hugging those bends although a bit harsh on bumpy roads)and interior sports seat (which i must say are extremley comfortable) , Vauxhall alloys and rear boot spoiler.
The dashboard is plain and dull , they have tried to jazz it up by use of white dials , but i think they look tacky.
The car to drive is a dream , it really is a wolf in sheeps clothes , i have the 5 door hatch version so it looks like...

Irmscher Astra looks great
Review of Vauxhall Astra CD 1.8i hatchback by
pjmitchell
Advantages: Looks, performance, comfort
Disadvantages: none
...Purchased a '99T Astra CD 1.8 16v as my second ever car and I am very impressed. Used to have a Rover 214. Mine is in dark blue and has the Irmscher spoiler and alloy wheels.
Looks are excellent espesially with the Irmscher 17" wheels, makes the car look wider and more ballanced. Dark metalic blue looks great but needs to be kept clean!! Black trim is starting to fade (a problem with all Vauxhalls) but is easily sorted with some back-to-black.
Interior looks good and is plain and simple with everything easy to reach whilst driving. Mine has the wood effect dash and gearknob. Could do with having better seats, (maybe the "sports" seats from the sxi or sri models) especially on long journeys, but overall it is comfortable. Build quality seems good, mine is approaching 5 years old and has no major marks or rattles. Interior light...

New Astra worthy of top small family hatch???
Review of Vauxhall New Astra SXi 1.6i 16v by
170driver
Advantages: Nice styling, outstanding drive and handling, good quality interior!!
Disadvantages: Finicky new toys, 1.6 lacks real muscle and Vauxhall badge!!
...Test Model
Vauxhall Astra 1.6 16v SXI
Reg no: BF55 FYP
UK model RHD
Mileage 5912
Actual 0-60: 9.6
Printed max speed: 115 mph
Printed economy: 32.8mpg urban
Actual economy: 25mpg
The new generation Astra has gone through a complete revamp since its ageing predecessor, both externally and internally there are very few features kept from the previous shape. The main improvement overall is the driving experience which has been improved by 80%.
The New Astra is a beautiful looking car in sport hatch form and in 5 door form (like the one I tested) is still sporty looking, especially with alloys and front spot lights. As mentioned before the similarities between the previous Astra and the new generation one is minimal, Vauxhall choosing more sporty and dramatic lines to complement the cars shape. Have to say I am no big fan...

2004 Corsa C SRi 1.8 16v
Review of Vauxhall Corsa SRi 1.8i 16v by
MJRacer
Advantages: Fun, Pratical, Stylish....
Disadvantages: None to be honest!
...After someone crashing into the back of my Mitsubishi Galant V6 & writing it off, I was looking for a replacement car.
I already own a 52 reg Corsa C SXi 1.2 16v but wanted similar power to the Galant, thats when I saw the 1.8 SRi & fell in love with it instantly.
I bought a SRi 2004 1.8 in Ultra Blue for £6995 with 15k on the clock.
First looks of the SRi:
Looks very sporty but very under rated in my opinion & looks can be deceiving when it comes to the performance of this car.
Driving the SRi:
The SRi is a great car to drive, you can drive as normal getting great mpg (35) & comfort all day long.
But when you want the evil, fun side of the SRi............Simply put the foot down and the fun begins.
The acceleration is unbelievable of this little car, mines is 7.5s 0-60mph, Top speed is 130+mph
Driving at high speeds...

Hey, it's Astra-nomical!
Review of Vauxhall Astra SRi 2.0i 16v Turbo Estate by
richard_richard
Advantages: Performance, spec, reasonable insurance
Disadvantages: Some think the looks are too conservative
...Please humour me as what I am going to do here is actually a review of the Astra 2.0 SRi 16v, but hopefully you will still find it useful. This is the model I have and Ciao don’t seem to have included it on their list of Astras so I’m sticking it under the 2.2 ok?!! Anyway it is basically the same car as the 2.2, just with an ever so slightly smaller engine.
I purchased my Astra SRi about a year ago. This was from a Vauxhall dealer I found in Slough after doing a used car search on Vauxhall’s very helpful website. I had decided on the Astra as both the Golf GTi and Peugeot 206 GTi had very similar performance as the Astra but much higher insurance groups. (The Astra 2.0 SRi is Group 11).
The price of £11,000 I thought was quite reasonable for a sports model that was just over a year old and only had 8,000 miles...

My beautiful lady - Vauxhall Vectra 2004
Review of Vauxhall Vectra Design 1.8i 16v 5dr by
TheJudge1979
Advantages: A very smooth cruiser, comfortable and roomy
Disadvantages: Quite a big car, Need to be careful not losing little things from the car
...My father always had American comfortable and smooth cars and as soon I tested my Vauxhall Vectra, it was just as a smooth and more. It was just all I wanted, a smooth, attractive, powerful and a large collections of functionalities. I highly recommend the car. The price was more than worth the car.
I have had my Vectra 2004 Design since November last year and I just love it. It's a very attractive, powerful, comfortable, roomy, a smooth cruiser as I do a lot of motorway and it has a lot of fantastic functionalities of which I keep discovering every now and then. I recently discovered that you can set the sound volume so the volume goes up and down as required keeping up with the outside noises. Fantastic!
Also, a delight to drive invites confidence in its road holding, accelerating and stopping power, which is fully justified...

Zafir NOT
Review of Vauxhall Zafira Life 1.8i 16v by
KELLYLOUJ
Advantages: Spacious, Number of Safety Features.
Disadvantages: Not great value for money
...The Vauxhall Zafira is one of the most popular compact MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) on the market. Out of all its competitors it accounts for 40% of all 7 seater MPV Sales.
*~*~*Which model am I reviewing?*~*~*
I am reviewing the Vauxhall Zafira Life 1.8i 16v petrol model with 140bhp that we hired for 4 days.
It is the latest model from Vauxhall after recently being revamped last year, it is a 5 door model with a seating capacity for 7 passengers.
The Zafira does come in different engine sizes as you would expect the smallest being a 1.6i and the largest being a 2.0i Turbo with 240bhp.
*~*~*Styling*~*~*
The New redesigned Zafira is a lot sleeker and sexier than the previous model however it is still not that easy on the eye.
Less aggressive styling makes it a bit more family car orientated than people carrier, also...
