Vauxhall Corsa SXi 1.4i
Review of Vauxhall Corsa SXi 1.2i by
clickysteve
Advantages: Good engine, looks, interior.
Disadvantages: Barmy low-ratio gears, irritating design faults, tiny boot.
...I drove one of these for over a week while my car was being repaired. I have to agree with the other more negative reviews, for 14 years on from my first car (a Mk 1 Corsa) I don't think anything has improved!
It looks cool, the interior is fine, it was pretty refined, and most of the car was what you should expect from a brand new model. However...
It is no longer small, about the size of an older Astra!
The forward visibility was poor - I am 6 feet tall and couldn't guess where the front was! The thick pillars make pulling out from junctions a bit tricky.
In the SXi model the suspension is far too hard making the car feel as if it was jumping round bumpy corners, rather than being fast (as was intended?) No feel from the steering wheel either.
The gearing ratios are daft - far too low. The engine pulled really well from low revs...

vauxhall corsa 1.4 design petrol 3dr auto
Review of Vauxhall Corsa Design 1.4i 16v by
hhuk
Advantages: fun, good looking, nifty, reliable
Disadvantages: not much room in the back with 3people
...I love my corsa! Apart from looking amazing she drives like a little beauty too! my parents own a honda civic & a range rover sport - they love driving my corsa as well so with about 10x my car value to the RRS you cant really complain. My car is a 53 plate and has just got over 22000 miles i bought it from a vauxhall dealer as a former courtasy car i would recommend this as you get a fantastic deal on a car in excellent condition.
Mine is the 1.4 3dr auto version and is very very fast especially with use of the sports mode button - it really does put the fun back into drivin. The handling is excellent and i am totally satisfied with my car. Im currently 19, being driving 2years and my insurance is under £1000 fully comp i think corsas make an excellent first car as they are fun to drive, smart looking, excellent handling, good value...

Corsa SRiiiiiiiiii
Review of Vauxhall Corsa SRi 1.4i 16v 5dr by
DannyLeedsutd
Advantages: Great looking little Car and quite cheap to run
Disadvantages: Fuel costs can be expensive if you tend to drive fast
...I got my Corsa Sri in August 2001 from Reg Vardy in Leeds. I had a Ford Escort before that, an 1.4lx. It caught my eye on the Fore Court, and I went to have a look. I wanted a Corsa Sport 1.6 and didnt want a white car. Anyway this car was white and it really did look stunning, so I asked the Sales man for a look around, I loved it and bought it there and then for £4000.
It was on an M reg 1995, which was one of the last ones that was made in that model. It was one owner from new, full service history and only had 42,000 miles on the clock.
When I collected the car, it was there waiting for me. I drove it home, and for a small car I was quite surprised at how smooth and quiet the Engine was, and the sturdy feel and roadholding the car had.
The Cars engine is a 1.4 16 valve Ecotec unit that pushes 91bhp, quite impressive...

vaux corsa 1.4 sri
Review of Vauxhall Corsa SRi 1.4i 16v by
spencer6666
Advantages: good handling.cheap to run.
Disadvantages: expensive to fuel if heavy footed.
...what a great allrounder this car is.this car is one for the boyracers with it being a really good car to tune and modify. you can get a really good throaty sound by adding an induction kit which is an uprated air cleaner for those who dont know.its responsive to drive and really good through the bends with very little body roll.iv seen plenty ov women drivers including my mother and a friends girlfriend owning or driving these cars as they are good for little shopping runs and picking the kids up from nursery its not the most economical on the market but its the best for its performance i would highly advise you to buy 1 of these cars as the new corsa has arrived and these have depreciated so you could grap your self a great bargain!!!!!
Engine Size 1.4 L
Engine cc 1364 cc
Number of cylinders 4
Number of valves per cylinder 4...

Good looker and practical
Review of Vauxhall Corsa SRi 1.4i 16v 5dr by
winprizes2000
Advantages: practical and nippy
Disadvantages: dated styling
...Small cars seem to have matured so much in recent years and the Corsa's looks may have remained pretty much untouched but the driving experience has been enhanced - and the Sport Corsa is a good example of this. The smart alloys and sports seats provide a feeling of fun and the cars performance proves more than adequate for town or motorway driving. The interior is well put together though somewhat sombre with black seats and dark grey trim and dashboard not lightening the mood. The standard fit power steering is handy for parking but detracts from the motorway experience.
The efforts Vauxhall have made to keep the Corsa's looks fresh have worked in the main though fussy detailing around the wheel arches dates the profile somewhat.
Overall the Corsa makes a practical package and the sport pack adds to the fun, recent changes...

Fancy an SRi? i did!
Review of Vauxhall Corsa SRi 1.4i 16v 5dr by
richard2010
Advantages: Very small and nippy car
Disadvantages: Can seem cramped from inside
...I came across my vauxhall corsa sri in a local news advertised somerclose, I decided to go and look at the the car that same day.
As soon as i saw the car sitting on their drive i knew it was the car for me and after looking round it i took it for a test drive. This was my very first car and it was quite exciting after jst passing my test, I knew insurance for it would be alot but i didnt mind because i would have an SRi.
The test drive was perfect it drove like it was brand new it felt weird at first because it wasnt like the car i learnt to drive in.
I decided to buy the car for a very reasonable price got insuranse as soon as posible then took it for a spin the next day, it was brilliant even though i would recommend powersteering because it does get quite difficult to steer at slow speeds and during manouvers. the gearbox...

My New Vauxhall Corsa D Sxi
Review of Vauxhall Corsa D (2007) by
spunko2010
Advantages: Looks amazing, very cheap to buy, amazing ride & comfort. Great car!
Disadvantages: Poor rear visibility, not enough storage space, fairly slow on motorways/hills
...in there and thats if I put them facing up. Maybe I'm just being petty but there is very little storage space in the front!!
The Corsa C is as common as muck and I think going by what I have seen from this car, this one will extremely popular too. And rightly so. Whether this is a disadvantage or not I am not sure, but I do get a little sick of seeing 15-20 black Corsas C's when I go to the shops.
Finally, the engine feels a little underpowered, I wish I opted for the 1.4i at times (£500 more) because up hills and on motorways it does feel like its straining a bit.
But saying that, this is one amazing car, it does feel like a small Astra - but even better... I am very impressed, I feel VERY safe when driving it (5 NCAP stars) and I dont think anyone who buys the Corsa D will be disappointed. Overall.. yes, extremely happy with the car....

Vauxhall Corsa SXi 1.3CDTi 16v 2007
Review of Vauxhall Corsa SXi 1.3CDTi 16v by
linkz0rz
Advantages: Diesel engine so fuel economy is good. Much better styling inside and outside
Disadvantages: It's still a Corsa from Vauxhall, which means it's still by General Motors.
..., it was different somehow. The car had a different sort of styling to it, it had a different feel. The angled headlights made the car look angrier now, and the angled back made it look like a sports coupe. The alloys actually looked like they were the right size for the car and the backend didn’t look bad either, but it still has an unnecessary spoiler. I was thoroughly surprised, a Vauxhall Corsa that was actually pretty nice to look at.
My mate then got out of his car, walked up to me with a slight swagger, and smiled at my surprised face.
“It is a Corsa that is, and it is a SXi. But this is the new Corsa SXi CDTi 1.3l 16v 90ps.”
For those that don’t know what that meant, he was boasting about his Corsa being the ‘sport’ model, which if you have read my previous review, I slated immensely. But this was a different sort of Corsa, it was a CDTi...

You need a Vauxhall, of Corsa you do.
Review of Vauxhall Corsa Club 1.2i by
pumfster
Advantages: Good reliable car
Disadvantages: None really
...Well when my family purchased a new Vauxhall Corsa Club 1.2l 16v car, I was very happy indeed. We have always had Vauxhall's apart from a few disasterous flirts with other brands :) Further to this, I learned to drive 4 years ago with BSM who use 1.0l Corsa's so I was pretty much used to them. However, even I as a loyal Vauxhall fan as surprised at just how good a car the 1.2l Corsa is.
The look of the car is pretty OK. Nothing out of the ordinary, just what you expect from a Vauxhall. Infact there is very little difference between any makes of car in this day and age, and alot of the cars this size look similar. We bought a silver coloured car and this looked very nice when it was brand new and all shiny.
The car I first drove at home was a 1.4l Corsa, and so I was worried when we changed it for the 1.2l that it would not pull...

Vauxhall! What Have You Done to the Corsa?
Review of Vauxhall Corsa CDXi by
tel1
Advantages: Small
Disadvantages: High fuel consumption (auto box), dodgy power steering, no brakes
...In March 2000, I purchased a new Corsa Club 1.2 (see review) and, at the same time, my wife bought a new CDX variant. We were both unaware at the time that Vauxhall were about to launch the bigger and (?)better new Corsa but that's history now.
My wife liked the Club but decided on the CDX as it had a few flash components (for those days) such as air-con (usually an extra in then), fancy interior, passenger airbag (why?), alarm, and alloy wheels.
The wife's version had 4-speed auto-transmission (on a 1.2l car!). It also had a storage tray under the passneger seat (wow!) and electric front windows as standard. Importantly, it also had ABS.
Anyway, I had reason to use this car a few times and can report as follows:
Auto-transmission - good grief, the manual has little enough grunt but the auto was absolutely useless...
