Vauxhall Corsa SXi 1.3CDTi 16v 2007
Review of Vauxhall Corsa SXi 1.3CDTi 16v by
linkz0rz
Advantages: Diesel engine so fuel economy is good. Much better styling inside and outside
Disadvantages: It's still a Corsa from Vauxhall, which means it's still by General Motors.
..., it was different somehow. The car had a different sort of styling to it, it had a different feel. The angled headlights made the car look angrier now, and the angled back made it look like a sports coupe. The alloys actually looked like they were the right size for the car and the backend didn’t look bad either, but it still has an unnecessary spoiler. I was thoroughly surprised, a Vauxhall Corsa that was actually pretty nice to look at.
My mate then got out of his car, walked up to me with a slight swagger, and smiled at my surprised face.
“It is a Corsa that is, and it is a SXi. But this is the new Corsa SXi CDTi 1.3l 16v 90ps.”
For those that don’t know what that meant, he was boasting about his Corsa being the ‘sport’ model, which if you have read my previous review, I slated immensely. But this was a different sort of Corsa, it was a CDTi...

The Vauxhall Corsa SXi - The Best HotHatch
Review of Vauxhall Corsa SXi 1.2i by
whitehouse.adam
Advantages: Reliabilty, Handling, Economy, Insurance Prices, Safety, Acceleration, Depreciation
Disadvantages: They don't make this model anymore! The new corsa's interior is just hideous!
..., if you've even made up your mind that its going to be a Corsa - make sure its the SXi. Now, without insulting drivers of the following models - types such as the 1 litre Active and the Comfort, they just don't step up to the mark of the SXi. In my sporty 2005 model i have a CD player, I've got mock-aluminum fascia on the stereo and door handles, I've got silver seat belts, I've got alloy wheels, I've got a bit more poke under the bonnet (that actually makes quite a nice note at 4000 rpm). And all these little things add up, to make a BIG difference.
The Vauxhall Corsa SXi - The Best In The Entire Present Hot Hatch Range!!...

53 plate Vauxhall Corsa 1.2 SXI - My first car
Review of Vauxhall Corsa SXi 1.2i by
eadand2003
Advantages: Looks, Performace, Running Costs, Equipment
Disadvantages: Handling in wet, Vauxhall Dealer.
...I currently own a 53 plate Silver Vauxhall Corsa 1.2 SXi, im going to try provide a short and sweet review on the car for any potential buyers.
Engine and Performance:
Whilst a 1.2 engine may put potential buyers off due to a lack of power, it should be noted that this potential 16v engine is one of the best in its class, boasting one of the best 0-60mph times of 11.6 seconds. The engine is superb through the gears, although it is revved a little hard at motorway speeds but not enough to be a problem.
9\10 - Excellent pokey engine for the size.
Equipment:
The SXI comes standard with a CD player with steering wheel controls, electric windows and mirrors, 15" alloy wheels and sports seats. It also has little touches like being lowered with white dials inside and a general more aggressive, sporty look to the car. The CD player...

Is it Sxi, Corsa it is
Review of Vauxhall Corsa SXi 1.2i by
JHubbard
Advantages: Style, Quality, Ride, Comfort and Cost
Disadvantages: None!
...INTRODUCTION
Vauxhall Man strikes again! After 6 years and one month, we finally decided to part company with our rather good little Vauxhall Corsa ‘Sport’ (See my previous Op); and after the usual tramp around the showrooms we have replaced it with... another Vauxhall Corsa – an Sxi 1.2 16-valve! This time, however, we opted for the Corsa Sxi, and, now baby is less of a baby and more of a little girl, we decided that 5 doors (i.e. 4 doors and a boot) are better than 3 doors (that is – 2 doors and a boot)!
Having now owned 3 Corsas, 1 Nova (‘No go’ in Spanish?!?) from new and one nearly new Cavalier it has been interesting to note the changes in design and quality from Vauxhall (Opel/General Motors) in the last few years – mostly these changes have been positive.
So where to begin...

Is the Corsa 1.2 sxi the star buy?
Review of Vauxhall Corsa SXi 1.2i by
ryan270286
Advantages: Small, reliable, easy to drive and safe
Disadvantages: Fuel consumption slightly high
...will out-accelerate some older model 1.4 engines. Good acceleration in 3rd gear for coming onto short motorway slip roads.
Brakes are good. Uprated sports discs and brake pads make emergency stops quick and easy.
PRACTICALITY
Practicality is good too, with a fairly large boot size for a small car, probably enough space to fit in a set of golf clubs, or a few suit cases. May be difficult for tall passengers to get in the back of the car with the 3 door Corsa, but once in theres plenty of space to go round.
VERDICT
With owning this car since the beginning of the year, my honest opinion is that overall, the Vauxhall Corsa 1.2 sxi is a fantastic car. It is very asy to drive, standard features are good and it feels like a bigger car than what it actually is. I would recommend this car to any driver who is looking for value for money...

Cosmic Corsa. 1.0 verses 1.2 model
Review of Vauxhall Corsa SXi 1.2i by
bazza1603
Advantages: Good range of feature. Cheap running costs.
Disadvantages: Very common cars.
...Fiesta was not on my shopping list was the price of £8999 for a five door car. At that price you can get far better cars including a New Focus if you shopped about. I felt we could get a better deal and left it....
We started looking at Corsa models again with a better spec that the Club model. We found three cars at far below the Vauxhall retail price which were brand new:-
3 Door Elegance 1400 Model with Air Con. £7600 – Reason We didnot Buy - Not in colours we liked
5 door DTI SXI Corsa in metallic Silver with Air Con £8595 - Lovely car with only 800 miles on the clock. Really was smitten until I saw the Opel badge. Import Alert! It came with 3 years Vauxhall Warranty, but I couldnot be bothered with the Hassle you would get to insure it and sell it on when you had finished with it. You can tell import models if they have...

Vauxhall Corsa SXi 1.4i
Review of Vauxhall Corsa SXi 1.2i by
clickysteve
Advantages: Good engine, looks, interior.
Disadvantages: Barmy low-ratio gears, irritating design faults, tiny boot.
...I drove one of these for over a week while my car was being repaired. I have to agree with the other more negative reviews, for 14 years on from my first car (a Mk 1 Corsa) I don't think anything has improved!
It looks cool, the interior is fine, it was pretty refined, and most of the car was what you should expect from a brand new model. However...
It is no longer small, about the size of an older Astra!
The forward visibility was poor - I am 6 feet tall and couldn't guess where the front was! The thick pillars make pulling out from junctions a bit tricky.
In the SXi model the suspension is far too hard making the car feel as if it was jumping round bumpy corners, rather than being fast (as was intended?) No feel from the steering wheel either.
The gearing ratios are daft - far too low. The engine pulled really well from low revs...

The 2002 Corsa 1.2SXI Model
Review of Vauxhall Corsa SXi 1.2i by
DAVEAINSCOW
Advantages: Cheap, reliable little run around
Disadvantages: Waiting for delivery
...I recently bought the 2002 model Vauxhall Corsa 1.2Sxi, I was attracted to it by the great look, only then did I find out what advantages it actually has.
It was priced at £8500, with the choice of 3 years intrest free credit.
When I was looking round the showroom I was looking at all differnt types of models like the diesel and the petrol 1.2club etc (6999), but none were a patch on the Sxi.
The difference being the interior and power to the engine:
The interior on a Club is very standard, everything is platic and cheap looking, it has a radio casette, and even a coloured plastic gearnob, however the Sxi hs a CD player, Twin airbag, central locking, alloy wheels, twin spoiler and fog lamps it also has a great sporty effect on the dashboard ( a metallic grey).
The car also has great security, the remote control...

Cool and Classy Corsa
Review of Vauxhall Corsa SXi 1.2i by
purplelynne
Advantages: Small but perfectly formed
Disadvantages: None
...If you’d asked me six months ago, what car I have, I would have replied:
“A blue one.”
Now if you ask the same question, you’d get something along the lines of:
“A 3 door Vauxhall Corsa 1.2 Sxi with twin airbags….”
Admittedly, I am not an expert on speed, revs per minute (or whatever they are) or abs (I thought that was some sort of muscle in your stomach), but since taking ownership of my beloved Corsa, I have become a lot more interested in cars in general.
I started looking for a replacement for my annoying Ford Fiesta, after the gearbox seized up on the way to an important meeting. I did some research and asked around at work for any ideas for a small, nippy car. Two of my friends recommended the Corsa, while others recommended the Toyota Yaris and the Ford Ka.
So off I went, spending all my weekends trawling...

What does the X in SXi stand for?
Review of Vauxhall Corsa SXi 1.2i 16v by
linkz0rz
Advantages: Parking. You can drive in one. That's it.
Disadvantages: Without one, you'll have to make do with another form of transport, such as walking
...keep talking about it's power being insufficient, and I will explain why here. This car with its 1.2 litre engine at most can output 64 brake horsepower, or 81 torque. The Golf GTi Edition 30 with it's 2 litre engine has 226 brake horsepower or 221 torque, and a top speed of 152mph. That is phenomenally more than the Corsa SXi and this is why the Golf is a Supermini. It sounds like one as well and makes the Corsa sound like a middle aged man gargling in the morning.
I will talk to you now about what it comes with. The SXi comes with the alloys and spoiler as standard, as well as some nice little additions such as Air Conditioning, anti-lock brakes and power assisted steering. The radio will be the classic Vauxhall bland cassette tape player unless the previous owner opted for the CD player or fitted a new one himself. Metallic paint also...
