Meriva Steptronic
Review of Vauxhall Meriva Design 1.6i 16v by
Trendyvic
Advantages: Flexible use of space, economical
Disadvantages: Front struts obscure view
...Just changed from Hyundai Sante Fe - very expensice to run, to a Meriva 1.6 Steptronic (semi automatic) Active.
I thought we would notice the lack of size - the Sante Fe is massive. However, the car looks tiny in comparison from the outside, but on the inside, the smallness is not that much noticeable. We can still fit our three children across the back seat - we could get two adults and a small child (not the three adults that easily sat across the Sante Fe) and the rear seats do not have the leg room we were used too - but hey I can still get in the back with the front seats pushed as far back as possible and I have long legs and am 6ft tall. The boot space is also large and can be made larger by means of the flexible seating.
The driving position is also good, we are still higher than most other cars so have a good view...

Meriva, a good little family car.
Review of Vauxhall Meriva Design 1.7CDTi 16v by
Buzzkel_2000
Advantages: spacious boot, multi position rear seats, spacious, height, looks good
Disadvantages: Lack of storage compartments, suspension not great
...We brought a Meriva after having a baby to fit all the equipment the little bundles come along with. One of the things we like most is the amount of room in the meriva, both in the boot and seating. The boot easily takes our large pram with lots of room for other things. We can have the front passenger seat right back to allow lots of leg room and still have space between that and the babys rear faciing car seat. The floor of the boot lifts up to reveal a shallow but large and handy storage space which is great for things you always want in the car, e.g torch, umbrella, blanket, maps, etc. The only thing I would say it is lacking in is some handy pockets and storage in the seating area. For example there are no pockets on the backs of the front seats.
The rear seats being split into 3 individually moving and folding seats
is also very...

Vauxhall Meriva Car
Review of Vauxhall Meriva 1.6 Life 8V by
RunningDen50
Advantages: A feeling of safety on the road
Disadvantages: Left hand indicator doesn't click off and windscreen bars obscure view
...I bought my Meriva in 2004 and I love it! I enjoy driving it very much. Because you are higher off the ground than a normal saloon car you get a much better view of the road ahead and the oncoming traffic.
It is a very comfortable car with lots of leg room in the front and rear seats. There are rear trays that can be pulled down for use when on a long journey which have proved very useful to my children.
The rear seats fold down enabling me to carry heavier loads when I need to.
I have found that there are a couple of things that could do with improvement. One affects the view of the road from the windscreen - the bars at either side of the windscreen are quite thick and on occasion have obstructed my view to oncoming traffic. Luckily because I am aware of this I am extra careful when going around corners or pulling out...

1.6 8v Design! This 1.4 has just replaced it
Review of Vauxhall Meriva Design 1.4i 16v by
saontd
Advantages: Roomy and flexible. Cheeky looks
Disadvantages: Fuel consumption around town. Gearchange
...General: Good all rounder that the kids love
Image: I am a car lover, so need to have something that makes me feel good as well as catering for the family. The Design has lots of BLING and a fair amount of toys (Air con,CD, Twin Audio, leather steering wheel, front fog lamps , electric windows and mirrors). I got the black one which looks quite "gangster rapper" with its big alloys and the blacked out rear passenger and rear windows.
Driving: A pleasant if not inspiring drive. Surprisingly little body roll for a high sided vehicle. Handles pretty well. Great brakes (ABS and EBD). Gear change biggest let down. I have defeated reverse on numerous occasions. I haven't found the thick front pillars a problem in terms of visiblity. I do like the van-like driving position. Comfy seats too. Parking is ok but find the inability to see...

vauxhall corsa 1.4 design petrol 3dr auto
Review of Vauxhall Corsa Design 1.4i 16v by
hhuk
Advantages: fun, good looking, nifty, reliable
Disadvantages: not much room in the back with 3people
...I love my corsa! Apart from looking amazing she drives like a little beauty too! my parents own a honda civic & a range rover sport - they love driving my corsa as well so with about 10x my car value to the RRS you cant really complain. My car is a 53 plate and has just got over 22000 miles i bought it from a vauxhall dealer as a former courtasy car i would recommend this as you get a fantastic deal on a car in excellent condition.
Mine is the 1.4 3dr auto version and is very very fast especially with use of the sports mode button - it really does put the fun back into drivin. The handling is excellent and i am totally satisfied with my car. Im currently 19, being driving 2years and my insurance is under £1000 fully comp i think corsas make an excellent first car as they are fun to drive, smart looking, excellent handling, good value...

Nice car, shame about the garage
Review of Vauxhall Meriva Life 1.6i 16v by
ChrisAllsopp
Advantages: High seating position, sporty engine
Disadvantages: Bulky A pillar & Vauxhall Sales people!
...The Vauxhall Meriva is an unusual car. It seems to have escaped the limelight for some time now, after being launched around a year and a half ago. A recent advertising campaign on TV seems to have ignited a spark though.
The Meriva are available in a confusing array of different models, the Expression, the Life, Enjoy and Design. The Expression being the most basic of the basics, with not even electric windows.
The Life 1.6 16 V is quite well equipped, with single CD, electric Windows power steering and all the nice creature comforts. The 1.6 is a solid unit, and quite quiet. The 16v version, adds a bit of extra power, nice for over taking, or when you've got a car full of kids!
The A pillar, the one down the sides of the windscreen, is spilt in to two sections, and it makes it a little difficult to see people...

I don't care what it is providing it has air con!
Review of Vauxhall Meriva Enjoy 1.6i 16v by
RICHADA
Advantages: Very practical, superb driving position, great fun to drive.
Disadvantages: A little pricey bearing in mind standard kit. Visability may be compromised.
...seat for Klaudia - completely unnecessary in the Meriva - and off we go.
It has been an extremely hard day, all we want to do is drive the 20 miles home. I negotiate the Meriva round the first bend, there is a smile on my face, my wife has a smile on her face, Klaudia can barely hide her enthusiasm for Vauxhall's mini-MPV.
My wife catches my smile, "Why hasn't our Omega got as good an air conditioning system in it as this? Why does this CD sound better than it ever has before? My goodness I'm seeing scenery that I've never seen before too!"
I'm too busy enjoying the drive, yes I had noticed that for the first time all day I was comfortably cool, it was 28 degrees outside the very glassy cabin, inside it was a relaxed 20. No the CD had not caught my attention, but the handling certainly had.
Our little passenger in the back found...

The mini people carrier
Review of Vauxhall Meriva Life 1.6i 16v by
ldvda
Advantages: Spacious
Disadvantages: basic
...You want a small but spacious car; cheap to insure and run then you should definitely look at the Vauxhall Meriva. I found out about this car by accident so here is how I found out about and what I think about it, looking from a females point of view, as I found my partner was looking at things I would not have looked at.
I was on a look out for a new car as with having two kids, my present car was far to small and having a 3 door did not help especial when trying to put the youngest in her car seat. So my partner and me set out to find a new car that that is big but not too big, a 5 door, was not to expensive to insure or run and was spacious inside. Tried a few cars and I liked a few, like the Peugeot 307. Then my partner wrote off my little Peugeot 106 so then I had to get a new car and fast as with two kids it is so hard...

Saying Goodbye
Review of Vauxhall Meriva 1.6 Life 8V by
belfin
Advantages: Runs well - no major mechanical or electrical problems with it.
Disadvantages: Bad visibility, high emissions and terrible petrol consumption.
...I haven't written a review on a car before and I will say right from the start that this is not about a great deal of stats and figures, even though there will be a few in here. This review is about my personal experiences that I've had with this car over the past 14 months. Normally I keep a car a lot longer than that but for many of the reasons below, I decided that it was time to look for something else.
***Background***
The Meriva has been on the go for quite a few years now and is a five-seater people carrier. Part of the Vauxhall range, I did a bit of background checking on this car before I got it both from manufacturer sites and from sites such as Ciao and Dooyoo.
The reason I needed another car was because my Scenic at the time was developing problems and I would have had to spend quite a bit of money on it. I loved...

My beautiful lady - Vauxhall Vectra 2004
Review of Vauxhall Vectra Design 1.8i 16v 5dr by
TheJudge1979
Advantages: A very smooth cruiser, comfortable and roomy
Disadvantages: Quite a big car, Need to be careful not losing little things from the car
...My father always had American comfortable and smooth cars and as soon I tested my Vauxhall Vectra, it was just as a smooth and more. It was just all I wanted, a smooth, attractive, powerful and a large collections of functionalities. I highly recommend the car. The price was more than worth the car.
I have had my Vectra 2004 Design since November last year and I just love it. It's a very attractive, powerful, comfortable, roomy, a smooth cruiser as I do a lot of motorway and it has a lot of fantastic functionalities of which I keep discovering every now and then. I recently discovered that you can set the sound volume so the volume goes up and down as required keeping up with the outside noises. Fantastic!
Also, a delight to drive invites confidence in its road holding, accelerating and stopping power, which is fully justified...
