A superb family car from Vauxhall
Review of Vauxhall Zafira Design 1.8 16V by
scabies
Advantages: Highly versatile yet not unwieldy with 7 seats in a smallish package
Disadvantages: luggage space when all seats are in use is small, can be affected by crosswinds
...I was given the chance of choosing my company car with a maximum value of around 16K a year ago.
With a growing family, I was interested in something more versatile than the usual run of the mill hatch. I have always rated Vauxhall as decent cars (I have driven loads, from corsas, astras, cavaliers, senators and carltons, never had one break down or fail on me !)
The Zafira was therefore the obvious choice.
Okay so here goes..........
Interior:
This was the first mid size 7 seater MPV with fold away 'flex 7' type seats and they are incredibly versatile, In fact all seats apart from the drivers fold away in a twinkling, no huge muscles required, just pull a handle and bingo ! Even with all 7 seats up, there is a fair amount of room all round for adults and loads for kids although some boot space is lost. The design comes...

Vauxhall: Down the slippery slope!
Review of Vauxhall by
rgn007
Advantages: Agents almost in every town
Disadvantages: 6 Vauxhall agents tried were unable to help
...My first impression of dealing with Vauxhall was very good. The salesman was not pushy, but was available with all of the answers as hubby and I scrutenised and test drove our new car to be. It was to be the 'New Frontera', that was to change the poor image of Frontera from 1998.
On reading up about the optional extras on the car we felt although we would not be off-rading much, the limited slip differential, optional on this model would be important in sliding on wet grass and potholes trying to manoevre a twin axle caravan. The dealer advised us that he believed this Frontera did have the 'limited slip' so we went along with the purchase to collect the vehicle in a couple of days. It was only after signing the contract and organising everything that goes with changing a car, as we drove off the forecourt smiling, I requested...

SPECIAL OFFERS BROUGHT TO YOU BY VAUXHALL
Review of Vauxhall by
lippychic
Advantages: Good, Cheap + plenty special offers
Disadvantages: ..?
...You own a Vauxhall but you seem to find the prices quite outrageous, and you'd maybe like to use them but you think price is an issue. A biast opinion maybe, but ive done plenty competetive price checking around other garages to find out what you can get as a vauxhall customer (not only applies to vauxhall owners). There are dealers such as Puegeot, Renault and others that have fantastic offers but please check out what Vauxhall have to offer you.
The name "Vauxhall", the good brand automatically means money, money money. you can benefit from the service they offer.
Competetive price checking in my area (scotland), has shown that leading names such as quick fit, ats and national tyres are far too expensive on quality, but cheap on the less quality materials.
Tyres from these names I have found to be at least £13 above what...

* Vauxhall Brava Boob job .
Review of Vauxhall Brava 4 x 2 Doublecab by
smudgeybabes
Advantages: Cheap, decent site pickup.
Disadvantages: No longer made.
...If you type BRAVA into Google, you will come up with quite a few sites referring to breast enhancement before you find vehicles! I wonder if Vauxhall tried this before the naming ceremony?
Vauxhall Brava - Oh, just a couple of small points, Oops! another boob, Sorry. Made me titter, Oops, sorry again!
Seriously, I just mean that this is not actually a Vauxhall at all, it is a joint venture, with Isuzu providing the vehicle, and Vauxhall providing the badges for the UK versions.I will explain that this is also sold in Austrailia and many other parts of the world.
Production of these vehicles ended In March 2002.
Vauxhall - The Vauxhall company celebrated its Centenary in 2003. They have been making cars and vans for a considerable amount of time, and have also gained a vast amount of experience of commercial vehicles, more...

Vauxhall! What Have You Done to the Corsa?
Review of Vauxhall Corsa CDXi by
tel1
Advantages: Small
Disadvantages: High fuel consumption (auto box), dodgy power steering, no brakes
...In March 2000, I purchased a new Corsa Club 1.2 (see review) and, at the same time, my wife bought a new CDX variant. We were both unaware at the time that Vauxhall were about to launch the bigger and (?)better new Corsa but that's history now.
My wife liked the Club but decided on the CDX as it had a few flash components (for those days) such as air-con (usually an extra in then), fancy interior, passenger airbag (why?), alarm, and alloy wheels.
The wife's version had 4-speed auto-transmission (on a 1.2l car!). It also had a storage tray under the passneger seat (wow!) and electric front windows as standard. Importantly, it also had ABS.
Anyway, I had reason to use this car a few times and can report as follows:
Auto-transmission - good grief, the manual has little enough grunt but the auto was absolutely useless...

Vauxhall's Astra is SXi
Review of Vauxhall Astra SXi 1.6 hatchbacki by
lilly2006
Advantages: goodlooking, sexy, excellent ride ;-)
Disadvantages: common!
...~ My history ~
My very first car was a Renault Clio and after a crash on Valentines Day 2005 (which completely wrote it off (oops) and I couldn't believe I had to pay £50 to get them to scrap my little baby! (grr)
Because I needed a car to get to work, the search began almost instantly to find another car. I had driven an Astra before and really liked them, I thought they were quite compact but big enough to fit people in without being packed in like sardines.
I know I didn't want the bog standard Astra, so I went on the Vauxhall website and started to look at what they had to offer.
~ The Sxi ~
I'm not the most knowledgeable person when it comes to cars and engines etc and was a bit lost as to what spec I wanted and what kind of engine, so was only really bothered about how it looked (typical girl?)
This is where...

Vauxhall Frontera 3.2V6 Love / hate relationship
Review of Vauxhall Frontera Estate Ltd. 3.2i by
rgn007
Advantages: Smooth, roomy, powerful, good for towing.
Disadvantages: Lots of faults, unhelpful dealerships
...this problem in spite of cleaning the idle control valve and changing the throttle potentiometer.
On one service I was told the air-conditioning needed re filling to the tune of £150. I was suspicious so I paid an independent to check the system and he found a hole in the air conditioning radiator. The dealer accepted the independent report and changed the raditor under warranty only to find the vapour trap was faulty so we waited 6 months for one. The original was stamped Izusu, but Vauxhall denied the vehicle could be a cross-breed, although the newly designed running gear and engine was actually an Isuzu partnership design. Isuzu tried to help but Vauxhall thought nothing of leaving the situation lagging for months. Eventually they gave me £100 compensation for my trouble.
In between these faults there was the resonating exhaust...

You need a Vauxhall, of Corsa you do.
Review of Vauxhall Corsa Club 1.2i by
pumfster
Advantages: Good reliable car
Disadvantages: None really
...Well when my family purchased a new Vauxhall Corsa Club 1.2l 16v car, I was very happy indeed. We have always had Vauxhall's apart from a few disasterous flirts with other brands :) Further to this, I learned to drive 4 years ago with BSM who use 1.0l Corsa's so I was pretty much used to them. However, even I as a loyal Vauxhall fan as surprised at just how good a car the 1.2l Corsa is.
The look of the car is pretty OK. Nothing out of the ordinary, just what you expect from a Vauxhall. Infact there is very little difference between any makes of car in this day and age, and alot of the cars this size look similar. We bought a silver coloured car and this looked very nice when it was brand new and all shiny.
The car I first drove at home was a 1.4l Corsa, and so I was worried when we changed it for the 1.2l that it would not pull...

Vauxhall Zafira Elegance 1.8
Review of Vauxhall Zafira Elegance 1.8i by
007addict
Advantages: Roomy, easy to drive and fairly economical
Disadvantages: Horrible blind spot and electrically unreliable
...own a Zafira.
The economy is surprisingly ok for this type of vehicle, about 35 miles to the gallon (sorry I don't do the litre conversion, comes of being born in the 60s).
Having said the above I will be changing the car asap due to continual electrical problems over the past 18 months. Firstly the alarm started to go off in the early hours of the morning (no I wasn't popular with my neighbours). Unfortunately it took the Vauxhall garage, three diagnostic tests to find the fault. In the meantime they first advised me it was the change in temperature. Then it was a fault in the rear heated window. The rear window was replaced (over £200 via our windscreen insurance) The problem continued and was finally put down to the heating element in the side, rear window. That was replaced, and after much negotiating and pointing out...

My vauxhall corsa experience.
Review of Vauxhall Corsa Comfort 1.2i by
A_Mcintyre
Advantages: Small and economic
Disadvantages: Ride a little to firm
...The Vauxhall corsa was one of the first cars to be classed within the new category "supermini" when it first made it's appearance on the UK market in 1993. Does this phrase still ring as true or is the corsa starting to show it's age.
From the outside the corsa is a smart looking car. It has gently curves and eye catching trim features such as the color codes bumpers and door mirrors. When you step inside and have a seat in the drivers seat the happy feeling continues. The driving controls are well thought out and everything seams to be where it should be. The cockpit area is all in all very well laid out. Everything is within easy reach and very much self explanatory. The instrument pannel is well places with good vision from the driving seat. All the importaint dials are well located and easily read. The warnings lights are also...
