Advantages: Great drive
Disadvantages: Economy suffers when driven hard.

...I had a couple of these as hire cars, covering about 15000 miles over 6 months. They were pre-facelift models (04 and 54 reg). If I was in the market to buy a car in this class. this would be a sure contender. The SRi badge is probably pushing things a little. I always associated SRi's with BIG engines, and certainly not diesels! However, while the diesel (150ps) does a good job, I have to say the handling is the thing that justifies that Sri badge. The car feels really safe cornering and in general driving situations. While the Vectra has yet to reach the NCAP safety ratings of 5* acheived by manufacturers such as Renault, I would suggest that improved handling offered by a Vectra over a competetive model would actually reduce your need for this higher rating. Vauxhall Vectra SRI 150 2.2 (150ps)

Advantages: Reliable, well built performance family hatchback.
Disadvantages: Some faults too common, it's a Vauxhall Vectra!!

Having covered many miles in my Vectra SRI 150, I can safely say that it is a very well built car, that provides everything and more that anyone could expect from a family hatchback. I can carry 4 passengers with luggage at high motorway speeds in comfort, and then take it on a track-day at the weekend. Vauxhall Astra SRi 1.8 hatchback 2002

Advantages: Affordable, good alrounder
Disadvantages: Cambelt change every 40000 miles (expensive)

All the above are nice features that make the car all the more pleasurable to own and drive. After sales As with most main dealers, they are brilliant and couldn?t be more helpful until you have bought. Then they really don?t seem to care. Under duress they have sorted out a few niggly bits for me under the Vauxhall 3 year warranty. If you are going to buy one, do not get a Network Q warranty until the manufactures warranty has expired, it?s pointless and a waste of money, certainly get one after. 2001 Vauxhall Vectra 2.6 24v V6 SRi.

Advantages: Unusually good build quality and reliability from a Vauxhall.
Disadvantages: The wife limits my access.

...Having owned our Vectra Sri for some 2 years now I have to say first and foremost it's been unusual. This is due to the quality of this car when most of my experience with Vauxhall have been costly. The 2.6 V6 SRi is without doubt one of Vauxhalls finest cars, in my opinion. From the outside theres little to give away the potential of the car to the casual motorist. Sure theres the body coloured mouldings and bumpers, 16" twin spoke alloys, slightly lower stance, a square rear Irmscher tailpipe and a tiny badge on the side and rear but all these are normally overlooked. Fantastic! Who wants to scream out to the "modified" brigade and attract unwanted prying eyes? NOT ME! Out on the road the Vectra is a great car. ...We have recently come back from Beruwela (Sri Lanka). We flew from Heathrow on Sri Lankan Air Lines. The flight it self was nearly 10 hours but made as comftable as possible. On each seat was TV screen, the various channels included 3 film channels, comedy channel and also a channel where you could map out the journey. The meal service was first class. Food was Sri Lankan food and you had a choice of meals so suitable for any taste. Compimentry drinks included. Downside when arriving at the airport lookout for the porters wearing orange BIBS, if they help with baggage they expect english money. My experience included one porter taking to meeting point and another trying to take bags to bus pick up point and another trying to load on the bus. ...I am going to explain my experience in Galle. I went on a trip to Galle with my friends. We took "Ruhunu Kumari" train. It was operated through the coastal area. Scenery was so beautiful and we enjoyed very much.The beaches are very beautiful. There were few tourists in the train. You have to realize how beautiful Galle is. You can see fishermen sitting on sticks fishing in the see along the south coast. It is a strange technique of fishing. Nobody knows how this technique originated from. It works as the stilts are attractive sceneries. You can catch a glimpse of the famouse stilt fishermen in the down south. You are lucky as such a sight is nowhere to be found in Sri Lanka. Now, without insulting drivers of the following models - types such as the 1 litre Active and the Comfort, they just don't step up to the mark of the SXi. In my sporty 2005 model i have a CD player, I've got mock-aluminum fascia on the stereo and door handles, I've got silver seat belts, I've got alloy wheels, I've got a bit more poke under the bonnet (that actually makes quite a nice note at 4000 rpm). Does this phrase still ring as true or is the corsa starting to show it's age. From the outside the corsa is a smart looking car. It has gently curves and eye catching trim features such as the color codes bumpers and door mirrors. When you step inside and have a seat in the drivers seat the happy feeling continues. ...If you arrived here, looking for a review on a comfortable Vauxhall Vectra or Corsa, my semi-sincere apology.! The Comfort Inn group have a hotel in Vauxhall, London which I experimented with recently. I reckon this one is typical of the rest of the chain even though they are franchised to individual owners. So here we go ! Booking = You can book direct or through any number of agents, and I used Superbreak. I find the hotels they use to be fine and the deals they provide can be very reasonable - just hunt round online to be sure before you book. Cost = By going through Superbreak I was able to get a room in Vauxhall for £38, pretty good for a Friday night. That included Continental Breakfast in the morning.
