Vauxhall Vectra SRI 150 2.2 (150ps)
Review of Vauxhall Vectra SRi 2.2i hatchback by  sneakyweasel

Advantages: Reliable, well built performance family hatchback.
Disadvantages: Some faults too common, it's a Vauxhall Vectra!!

...2002. If this breaks the repair bill will include extensive rebuilding or replacement of the engine. To check, listen carefully for any rattling sound on start-up. Cost for the uprated cam chain kit to be fitted including the parts is nearly £500. CHECK whether it has been upgraded from Vauxhall's database. Having covered many miles in my Vectra SRI 150, I can safely say that it is a very well built car, that provides everything and more that anyone could expect from a family hatchback. I can carry 4 passengers with luggage at high motorway speeds in comfort, and then take it on a track-day at the weekend. Probably the most flexible car money can buy, it is a success in all respects. For any questions regarding this review, or indeed any further questions on the Vectra SRI 150, please do not hesitate to email me; roverturboandy200... Read review

2001 Vauxhall Vectra 2.6 24v V6 SRi.
Review of Vauxhall Vectra SRi 2.6i hatchback by  Devon22

Advantages: Unusually good build quality and reliability from a Vauxhall.
Disadvantages: The wife limits my access.

...Having owned our Vectra Sri for some 2 years now I have to say first and foremost it's been unusual. This is due to the quality of this car when most of my experience with Vauxhall have been costly. The 2.6 V6 SRi is without doubt one of Vauxhalls finest cars, in my opinion. From the outside theres little to give away the potential of the car to the casual motorist. Sure theres the body coloured mouldings and bumpers, 16" twin spoke alloys, slightly lower stance, a square rear Irmscher tailpipe and a tiny badge on the side and rear but all these are normally overlooked. Fantastic! Who wants to scream out to the "modified" brigade and attract unwanted prying eyes? NOT ME! Out on the road the Vectra is a great car. It inspires confidence thanks to it's traction control and huge amount of grip in the corners. It never feels... Read review

Vauxhall Astra SRi 1.8 hatchback 2002
Review of Vauxhall Astra SRi 1.8 hatchback by  neildemmert

Advantages: Affordable, good alrounder
Disadvantages: Cambelt change every 40000 miles (expensive)

..., it does not scratch that easily. A heated rear window is good for them cold mornings and does a really good job, lots don’t. The rear spoiler is a nice touch. All the above are nice features that make the car all the more pleasurable to own and drive. After sales As with most main dealers, they are brilliant and couldn’t be more helpful until you have bought. Then they really don’t seem to care. Under duress they have sorted out a few niggly bits for me under the Vauxhall 3 year warranty. If you are going to buy one, do not get a Network Q warranty until the manufactures warranty has expired, it’s pointless and a waste of money, certainly get one after. Conclusion Having worked in the automotive industry for sometime now, I have a fair knowledge of cars and would not hesitate to recommend the Astra SRI (ashtray) to anyone. All things... Read review

SRi CORSA takes me for a spin
Review of Vauxhall Corsa SRi 1.8i by  chunka

Advantages: A Lively little bugger somehow packed with 123bhp
Disadvantages: Some depends on you the driver

...(This has been updated) So, Chunka, why did you buy this car? Erm, wait, I remember! Yes, go on, A Vauxhall Corsa is meant to be a good car! And..... Its an SRi, Well, why buy it? I took it for a test drive and this is why I brought it......... First of all let me tell you about how this car handles. To put it bluntly its like a Go-kart with bold tyres. Wacking down the 123bhp at say 65-70mph, makes you thank Vauxhall for fitting the Traction Control and ABS to the car. Driving at these averagly high speeds at the best of times sometimes proves challenging. The car makes you use those handy skills of yours very easily. Without these fittings to the car I would no doubt be in a car show doing 360's and 180's very easily. Although this may be a problem to some of you, I find that you get use... Read review

THE REAL ASTRA SRi REVIEW (02-04) 1.8 16v
Review of Vauxhall Astra SRi 1.8 hatchback by  james_rules2000uk

Advantages: Performance, Cost, Looks
Disadvantages: Common car, petrol and SUSPENSION!

...end about the same though - from experience)! and obviously the looks are the same the wheel size etc... you can get cruise control with both aswell, but traction control is an extra with the 1.8. Now, let me get to the bigest let down on the 1.8 (which is crazy) THE SUSPENSION. I'm not one to change things to do with engines, brakes and suspension on cars..... THIS CAR IS SO BOUNCY HOWEVER, IT NEEDS A DIFFERENT SET OF SPRINGS. ok, its not ridiculous, but it is certainly not as tame as the SXi. Being so used to my 1.6 SXi, when driving the SRi i felt a little queasy afterward. it just doesn't seem to hold the road as good. Vauxhal upgraded everything else such as brakes and general tweaks... WHY DID THEY DOWNGRADE THE SUSPENSION??? So in all, yes the astra is a good car. good to drive, good to run, insure, good looks and i like... Read review

Vectra SRi 1.9CDTi
Review of Vauxhall Vectra SRi 1.9CDTi by  cpennington

Advantages: Great drive
Disadvantages: Economy suffers when driven hard.

...I had a couple of these as hire cars, covering about 15000 miles over 6 months. They were pre-facelift models (04 and 54 reg). If I was in the market to buy a car in this class. this would be a sure contender. The SRi badge is probably pushing things a little. I always associated SRi's with BIG engines, and certainly not diesels! However, while the diesel (150ps) does a good job, I have to say the handling is the thing that justifies that Sri badge. The car feels really safe cornering and in general driving situations. While the Vectra has yet to reach the NCAP safety ratings of 5* acheived by manufacturers such as Renault, I would suggest that improved handling offered by a Vectra over a competetive model would actually reduce your need for this higher rating. I always felt that I could fully trust the brakes on the Sri, which I... Read review

Fancy an SRi? i did!
Review of Vauxhall Corsa SRi 1.4i 16v 5dr by  richard2010

Advantages: Very small and nippy car
Disadvantages: Can seem cramped from inside

...I came across my vauxhall corsa sri in a local news advertised somerclose, I decided to go and look at the the car that same day. As soon as i saw the car sitting on their drive i knew it was the car for me and after looking round it i took it for a test drive. This was my very first car and it was quite exciting after jst passing my test, I knew insurance for it would be alot but i didnt mind because i would have an SRi. The test drive was perfect it drove like it was brand new it felt weird at first because it wasnt like the car i learnt to drive in. I decided to buy the car for a very reasonable price got insuranse as soon as posible then took it for a spin the next day, it was brilliant even though i would recommend powersteering because it does get quite difficult to steer at slow speeds and during manouvers. the gearbox... Herby Rides Again?, No its an Astra SRi 1.8!!!!
Review of Vauxhall Astra SRi 1.8 hatchback by  Ady-M

Advantages: Great handling, Cruise Control, 125BHP
Disadvantages: Wheel spin with heavy acceleration.

...So firstly this is my 2nd car, moving from 1.6 litre Peugeot 306, and boy was I blown away by the vast improvement in switching cars! The handling in the Astra ( SRi 1.8) is excellent, and takes coners with a breeze. From start to 60mph in 9 seconds. And is a surprisingly nippy car, Now for the boring stuff... The gear shift is short and well positioned. The pedals are sited without any offset from the driving position. There is adequate clearance beside the clutch pedal to rest your foot. The pedal weight on the clutch is perfect although the resistance of the accelerator pedal is a little light. The instruments are clear and attractive, and have like a brushed aluminiuim thing around them which compliments other details on the dash and interior, which is rather spacious, than say the corsa, or other vauxhalls, exculding... 2004 Corsa C SRi 1.8 16v
Review of Vauxhall Corsa SRi 1.8i 16v by  MJRacer

Advantages: Fun, Pratical, Stylish....
Disadvantages: None to be honest!

...After someone crashing into the back of my Mitsubishi Galant V6 & writing it off, I was looking for a replacement car. I already own a 52 reg Corsa C SXi 1.2 16v but wanted similar power to the Galant, thats when I saw the 1.8 SRi & fell in love with it instantly. I bought a SRi 2004 1.8 in Ultra Blue for £6995 with 15k on the clock. First looks of the SRi: Looks very sporty but very under rated in my opinion & looks can be deceiving when it comes to the performance of this car. Driving the SRi: The SRi is a great car to drive, you can drive as normal getting great mpg (35) & comfort all day long. But when you want the evil, fun side of the SRi............Simply put the foot down and the fun begins. The acceleration is unbelievable of this little car, mines is 7.5s 0-60mph, Top speed is 130+mph Driving at high speeds... Read review

Astra- nomical Price
Review of Vauxhall New Astra SRi 1.8i 16v by  KELLYLOUJ

Advantages: Sexy design, sporty look, good on boot space
Disadvantages: Cheap interior appearance, not comfortable

...*~*~Introduction~*~* This review is based on my experience of using the Vauxhall Astra each week for regular motorway journeys down South every week for work. The Vauxhall Astra has been said to have been developed to offer technical sophistication and exceptional comfort, I wonder if my review will agree with that…read on if you wish to find out. *~*~Exterior Appearance~*~* The Astra SRi looks tasty I am definitely not a fan of the Vauxhall's but even I have to admit this model is a pretty attractive car. The model I am reviewing is the 3 door hatchback complete with a sleek spoiler, body colour bumpers, mirrors and tinted glass. My absolute pet hate is the black plastic on the Vauxhalls and the SRi has definitely skipped on this. The standard black trim on the car is replaced with colour coded trim which gives it a much...
