I have owned a 1.8 dual fuel which is an LPG version of this vectra for 18 months and I have found it to be very reliable and also economical. It does over 200 miles on 40 litres of gas at an approximate cost of £20. I have covered around 127,000 miles on this car and i have it serviced at every 6,000 and I have never had a problem with it. ...most of my experience with Vauxhall have been costly. The 2.6 V6 SRi is without doubt one of Vauxhalls finest cars, in my opinion. From the outside theres little to give away the potential of the car to the casual motorist. Sure theres the body coloured mouldings and bumpers, 16" twin spoke alloys, slightly lower stance, a square rear Irmscher tailpipe and a tiny badge on the side and rear but all these are normally overlooked. ...prying eyes? NOT ME! Out on the road the Vectra is a great car. It inspires confidence thanks to it's traction control and huge amount of grip in the corners. It never feels unsettled even in extreme driving conditions such as heavy rain and snow. It happily cruises through town all day at 30 mph with it's light clutch and light steering. Disadvantages: Needs 4 elec windows and climate control.

57 PLATE SRI CDTI 150ps. Covered 4000 trouble free miles. Excellent supportive seats, all my driving is in rush hour heavy traffic and I estimate 38-40 mpg. Preformance should be fine for every one except the hard core boy racers. Corners very well and apparently the suspension has been tuned for our pathetic roads (for which we pay a high premium to enable us to use them). Service intervals are long (20,000 miles). Disadvantages: Is quite greedy on the petrol if you have a heavy right foot!!

I've got the saloon version of this model!! I would HIGHLY advise you give or get someone who knows how to check the engine over thoroughly as mine is burning oil to the extent im having to put 1 litre of oil in every week, when driving it didnt seem to have any power at all and would missfire but then would burst to life for the whole of 5 seconds, took it back to garage numerous times as it was still under warrenty and work was carryied out on ...
