Hoover TFC3185 Bagless Cylinder

...I bought this for my grandma who is getting old and needed something lightand easy to use. I bought this from an ebay shop that specialises in these. I got it very cheaply. Its great because its bagless. I thought only dyson did that!!! Well its pretty similar really , easy to empy and clean. The suction is pretty good not as good as my dyson but they are amazing. However its better than your average vaccuum, The design is pretty cute and its easy to store, it takes up little room. Its not noisy, pretty quiet really. ...The following is based on my own experience. I bought a Vax U91-P2 Power2 Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner end of August 2009. It is now in the back of my cupboard collecting dust. No pun intended!!! When I first used the product, it was good - couldn't fault it. However, when I tried to use it the second time, it wouldn't pick up dust. Off I went to Curries to complain about the problem. They carried out a basic floor test, ie tried to clean a small floor area in the store to see what the fault was. After the basic test, they could see that the cleaner was not picking up dust. They said the filter was blocked hence no pick up and that the filter needed cleaning. I said, ?to save me driving all the way home, can I purchase a spare filter in store to replace the one inside the cleaner ? that way you can test it again...

...Vax Astrata Vacuum Cleaner After a battling for 18 months with a bagged upright Hoover vacuum cleaner, that my Mum had given me, I decided it was time for something a bit more modern. I live in a 3 bed semi with my partner and 2 cats so I needed something substantial but nothing overly flash! Vax V006 turboforce upright vacuum cleaner

Advantages: bagless, long flexible pipe attached, very long lead, good at getting up pet hairs
Disadvantages: cleaning filter, noisy, overheats

...the answer to my pet hair problem on cleaning the stairs and standing the machine at the foot of the stairs on almost completing my cleaning from top to bottom the noise of the machine changed and i switched th cleaner off only to discover that the beater/roller bar had continued to spin, and worn my carpet away the beater bar housing had over heated and begun to melt. I am in the throws of trying to sort this with vax and discover if this is a fault of the model or just that i was unfortunate with my specific item. Vax are doing all they can to try and look into this but my advice at this point is be ware if leaving the vacuum in the upricht position in one place while switched on as in my case the machine overheated and the brush bar has ruined my carpet...

...this is a great hoover,its designed with pets in mind as it is great at getting all the hair up off floors of all types. ...Having previously owned a Dyson, I knew this wouldn't be as good! However, nothing prepared me for the trouble I was going to have with this vacuum cleaner!!! Initially, all seemed good - excellent suction, lightweight and plenty of tools. Unfortunately, after a couple of light uses, the filter became so clogged that all the suction disappeared. It got to the stage where the filter had to be washed after every use! The cylinder blew out a lot of very, very hot air too and, by the time it was 3 months old, overheated and cut-out after 10 minutes, almost every time I used it. It was repaired by Vax, but within another 3 months the same thing was happening. After yet another repair, and another 3 months, the cleaner became unusable! Very disappointed!...
