Vax a Heavy Cleaner

Advantages: very long lead, and a big water tank
Disadvantages: heavy and bulky

...comes with a hose and tools that can be used on the stairs and sofa but I did not use the tools so cannot comment on them. What do I think? This is a very heavy machine it weighs 11.4kg, I found it very hard to move back and forward and by the time I had finished the carpet my back was aching. The other thing with this vax is it is very noisy, a lot nosier than my old vax cleaner or even my current vacuum. My cats hated the noise and made a quick exit through the cat flap! It cost me £4 for the vax solution which I purchased in Tesco`s, I didn`t use much of the solution so this will come in handy in the future. Did the vax get my carpet clean? Yes it did and I can actually see the pattern in the carpet! I washed the carpet this morning and the carpet was wet, it is now nearly dry which I am really pleased about...

I live in a 3 bed semi with my partner and 2 cats so I needed something substantial but nothing overly flash! Vax U91-P3: A Simple but Efficient Cleaner

Advantages: A great cleaner with no unwanted frills.

...Due to constant problems with a recently purchased Hoover vacuum cleaner, we decided to forget it and opt for a Vax Power 3 ? a small and light vacuum cleaner without any of the bells and whistles that seemed to be on most other more expensive makes. This machine is easy and light to use for my wife who suffers from arthritis and when I think carefully about vacuum cleaners, I have to ask myself who uses these extra funny attachments like turbo brushes as I have never found that they work at all. In fact, I have found that standard non-moving attachments do a much better job. We owned one of those orange Vax Aqua Vacs back in the 1980s (remember them?) and even now it is still working as well as ever but we prefer an upright vac. I keep the Aqua Vac in the garage to clean my car with ? it is great for sucking up water too. So...

What has changed is the design, gone is the functional practical austere look, this is the new Doctor Who of cleaners. This is the new improved "Hoover with attitude" It looks modern, stylish even, and I dare say designers have been briefed to give it a sort of "In your face image". While I have absolutely nothing against the idea of a household appliance being trendy, or even cool, I just think that we should keep out feet on the ground. "It is only a vaccuum cleaner" nothing more, nothing less. Weight is only 3.8 Kgs, very light for this type of appliance. Availability is good, you will find them everywhere. ...young teen took to it easily, always a good thing!! It has one year guarantee, with an extra 4 years on parts, but you pay labour (has to be repaired by Hoover at Hoover prices). They also offer you 4 years labour insurance at about £180, to be arranged within 30 days. What I like best is the big drum size, quick 15 minute wash, very high spin, and fact that the drum is quite high so loading isn't such a strain on the back. The porthole is very wide and the door opens wide, although not to a full 180. All in all I think it was a sound buy. I paid £359 from a local dealer including delivery and installation and taking away all packing. I could have probably got it cheaper from a big online store but I like to support local firms and knew they would give a trustworthy service as I have bought from them before.
