Review of Sony CD / MP3 player

in the blue mp3/cd player

Advantages: Good basic player
Disadvantages: reliability lets it down

...I was given this player to keep me occupied on my many long bus and train journeys. THE PLAYER This is a Japanese mp3 and CD player, which comes in a silver and blue top with a grey base. It is 13cmx13cmx2½cm which is about average size, so its more bag sized than pocket sized. It comes with an adapter and ear bud type headphones. It only has a small display area, so only displays limited information on it, such as which track and album or how long the song has been playing for. There are also little icons to display what modes you have it on, which are discussed later. The buttons are fairly small, so not fab it you are fumbling about in the dark or going under a tunnel, or if you have any arthritic type problems that makes it difficult to press small buttons. The overall appearance is nice and suitable for male or female...

The Perfect cd player

Advantages: looks good, easy 2 use, huge batery life, 30cds onto 1
Disadvantages: headphones + software provided

...I came across this product whilst bored after doing my homework, fantasising about an ipod so I could store all my music. Whilst searching around the Internet I stumbled over many CD Mp3 players. I'd never heard of them before so I was intrigued to find out more. I had owned a Sony Minidisc player for about 2 years, and had become fed up with having to change the Minidisc every so often (yes I'm very lazy!) and it had become broken and did not want to send it of to the manufacturers to mend it which would have been very costly. A CD Mp3 player can store up to 30 albums onto one CD. This is very handy and by far easier than my previous Minidisc player is. This CD player comes with 2x AA alkaline rechargeable batteries which makes it possible to enjoy non-stop audio entertainment for up to 150 hours!!!! THE SOFTWARE Included...

CD/MP3 player of kings

Advantages: MP3 playback and long battery life
Disadvantages: The random function doesn't work properly

...Whenever I?ve had to choose a CD player like this, for me or for a present, the first thing I look at is the battery time. This is what first led me to this player, it advertises 30+ hours of CD playback and 48 hours of mp3 playback (these are for non-stop playback, with no skipping. Using the skip a lot will reduce battery time and giving it resting time between playbacks increases battery time.) Those numbers seemed pretty amazing to me from just 2AA batteries. So I bought it.... The round shape looks great and I can?t see how a CD player could get much smaller. It feels very well built, and it takes very big bumps (unusually big) to get it to skip. The remote control is useful for whenever you are carrying it around in your pocket or a bag and don?t want to have to reach into your pocket and fumble around for the buttons...

VDO HSP 6931 speakers

Advantages: phat bass!
Disadvantages: speakers are quite deep, so be sure to check your install depth available

...I have a set of these speakers that I run along with a set of VDO 6" splits. I've tried numerous big name brands of speakers (Sony, Pioneer, Kenwoord, JVC), and these VDOs out-do all of them! The speakers provide it all, very clear treble and mid range sound, bit more importantly they have fantastic base. I found that with a full set of VDO speakers (6x9's in the rear plus the 6" splits in the front) running through a 4 channel amp I did not even need a sub. Just be sure to get the HSP range (as opposed to the SSP's). The HSPs have the titanium finished cone and the full butyl rubber surround (this is an important part of these speakers performance). I actually came across this opportunity to write a review as I was scouring the net trying to find a set for my girlfriend, who now wants to kit out her Hyundai Tiburon with VDO speakers...

A Special Special Edition CD Player.

Advantages: Fantastic sound. You'll never leave the room.
Disadvantages: Fantastic sound - you'll never leave the room!

...There are simply not enough superlatives to describe this CD Player. The CD67SE is a single disc CD player. Obviously you're going to have to connect it to something that will do it justice. (My setup involves a Yamaha DSP-A595a and Kef Coda 9 floor-standers. Sound - I play many different music types, from classical to metal and rock. The output of this player is just fantastic and warm. I only ever use the Analogue outputs, since with a player like this you're paying for the expertise that went in to designing the D-A converter in the box to provide you with such a great sound. Outputs - The rear of the unit has Analogue outputs (On a CD Player like this, what else would you use?) and a Digital co-ax and digital optical out. There are also connectors for a remote control link to other Marantz Hi-Fi equipment you may have...

mp3 cd player

Advantages: good battery life
Disadvantages: ?????

...a very short time and these days you would be hard pushed to find a piece of audio software that isn?t capable of converting your cd collection into mp3 files, much of it for free. Even better, you are no longer limited to listening to your MP3 collection on your PC. Some hi-fi and mini systems are able to play mp3s but when it comes to personal audio players it seems that every passing day brings a few more tempting gadgets on to the market. The trouble is that most of these mp3 players are still fairly new and usually quite pricey. I?ve been looking to spend about £60 and for that sort of price you can choose from quite a large selection of what are called solid state players. Unlike walkmans they have no internally moving parts, so rather than physically place your music inside (as you would with a cd or tape) you simply attach...

Arcam CD82 Compa -what!? What a mouthful!

Advantages: Slender design
Disadvantages: Kind of expensive/ Not upgradable like some Arcam products

...The silver slender looking Arcam CD82 Compact Disc Player is a mid-range CD player that has been designed and built to act as the ideal half-way point between the CD72 and CD92 in the Diva range. My brother has owned one for a fair while now and the CD82 is an extremely capable CD player. The box to the CD player informs us that state of the art audiophile design techniques are incorporated. Apparently, these are commonly found on players which would normally cost consumers thousands of pounds to purchase. The helpful instruction manual that comes with it informs us that the CD player utilizes very high quality Burr Brown op-amps in the output stage. Included is a high-stability Class 1 crystal oscillator in the DAC module. The player also utilizes two 24-bit 192 kHz Wolfson DACs, which is in a dual-mode configuration. One...

Review of Arcam CD 82 Compact Disc Player

An Atrac-tive player

Advantages: Ultimate in portability, use in car or on foot
Disadvantages: Atrac cannot be used on any other players

...Once upon a time I had a car, and it had a radio that didn't work and a cassette player that did. So I used to tape my CD's onto cassettes to listen to in the car. This wasn't ideal, after all a tape only plays for a relatively short time before it needs turning over, but that was all I had. Then I saw an advert in the paper for the Sony D-NE518CK , a CD/mp3 player which came with a car kit that simply went into the cassette slot and you could get upto 30 hours of music one disc. My mouth dropped and I said ?WOW, I've got to get one of them!!!?. So off I toddled to Argos and bought the CD Walkman for a princely £90, then as a nice bonus received a free 240 disc case and 5 CD-A (writeable CDs that can only be used like regular audio CDs). * * * * * * * * * * * In the box * * * * * * * * * * * Inside the rather large...

The Delorean of CD Players

Advantages: Vertical CD Mechanism & Great Sound Quality
Disadvantages: No Tape or MP3

...listed on ebay, but it is well worth looking around. ** Technical Data ** High Res Sound (2.8224 MHz - which is apparently good) 100 W Output Power - 2 speakers 2 band RDS Radio Bass/Treble Control 1-Bit Digital Amplifier ** Conclusion ** Well worth the money you'll get one these days. It was probably one of the best CD players of its days, with great sound quality and other nice quirks. Thanks for Reading...
