VDO HSP 6931 speakers

Advantages: phat bass!
Disadvantages: speakers are quite deep, so be sure to check your install depth available

...I have a set of these speakers that I run along with a set of VDO 6" splits. I've tried numerous big name brands of speakers (Sony, Pioneer, Kenwoord, JVC), and these VDOs out-do all of them! The speakers provide it all, very clear treble and mid range sound, bit more importantly they have fantastic base. I found that with a full set of VDO speakers (6x9's in the rear plus the 6" splits in the front) running through a 4 channel amp I did not even need a sub. Just be sure to get the HSP range (as opposed to the SSP's). The HSPs have the titanium finished cone and the full butyl rubber surround (this is an important part of these speakers performance). I actually came across this opportunity to write a review as I was scouring the net trying to find a set for my girlfriend, who now wants to kit out her Hyundai Tiburon with VDO speakers...

Review of VDO HSP 6931

A brilliant OEM headunit

Advantages: Isn't particularly atractive to thieves and has pleanty of security built in. Connects directly to steering wheel controls in most newer vauxhalls (02 >05)
Disadvantages: Can be annoying to get the security code if lost, No midrange control.

...equipment the VDO doesn't leave you without options, there is a single pre-amp output on the rear for connecting an amplifier to and also connections for an optional CD changer. Security is provided in the form of a removable front panel and if the unit is disconnected from the vehicles power supply for any reason a four digit security code is required to activate it again. The front of the unit also incorporates a red flashing LED that comes on as soon as the keys are removed from the ignition. Looks wise the unit is quite bland looking and is designed to be fitted to a Vauxhall as it has no display of it's own so therefore uses the dash display. The buttons have a solid feel and are laid out quite logically. The fact that it couples to the Vauxhall steering controls means that changing source, track, station and volume can be done...

Review of VDO CDR500

The Volvo S60 Diesel SE

Advantages: Volvo , Great looks, Great Drive, Great Car
Disadvantages: None I Can think of

...I Took delivery of this car on the 13th Dec 2002. The car was spotless. It is a black S60 model SE. I work as a senior ambulance officer. The car was then taken to our Ambulance Workshops. It was then fitted with Blue Lights behind the Grill Alternating Headlights that flash, rear blue and red strobes on the rear shelf and a magnetic blue lamp for the roof. It was also fitted with a hands free VHF radio and a VDO Dayton Sat Nav system. The reason for the fititng of the sat nav was that the volvo option was £3000 and the VDO was £1200. This was quite a saving so it was decided that it would be better . Finally the car was fitted with a 100 watt siren . The switched were fitted neatly below the heating controls. Astravan 1.7 CDTI 05 Plate.

Advantages: Good Milage and Very Quick
Disadvantages: Lots of road noise, manual windows

...when you need it. before i got this i had the misfortune of driving a 1.9 TDI Golf with a boot full of kit and it was suicide over taking on single carrigeway roads. I Ache For Grace

Advantages: Gentle, Sweet, Sad but Funny

She really is Little Miss Sunshine!

Advantages: Very nice story, and love all the characters

...This is a really feel good movie, directed by Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris. It was released back in 2006 and boasts performances from stars such as Greg Kinnear, Toni Collette, Steve Carell and Alan Arkin. The film follows an American family, who venture on a trip across America (in a dodgy camper van!) to the Little Miss Sunshine contest, which their young daughter wishes to compete in. The story follows each of the family members problems in life, all of them different and things that viewers could relate to. With letting on who has what problem, they include drug taking, aspirations that cant be fulfilled, work problems, attempted suicide and bodily image.
