On the palate it is generous with good concentration of ripe plum and black cherry fruit and hints of dried figs, liquorice and dark chocolate. Producer Details Set up in 2003, Adria Vini is a winemaking venture jointly owned by Boutinot and Araldica Vini Piemontesi, the leading co-operative in Piemonte. All areas of production, from grape selection through to vinification, maturation, blending and bottling are meticulously overseen by Araldica's Claudio Manera and Lella Burdese. Working closely with growers and cooperatives, our aim is to produce a range of authentic, well-priced wines from local grape varieties. The mainstay of white wine production is Pinot Grigio, sourced from the Pavia region south of Milan, Friuli and the Veneto. New projects in the Veneto and Sicily from the 2008 vintage see the addition of Prosecco, Grillo and Catarratto. The reds come from mature, low yielding vineyards in Sicily, Puglia and Abruzzo, the source of some of Europe's most undervalued and characterful wines. In the Vineyard Produced from the local Primitivo variety cultivated in the Salento peninsula of the Puglia region, southern Italy. Grapes were sourced from selected vineyards between 20 and 60 years old and hand harvested in early September. In the Winery Fermentation took place at 28 to 30C with daily pumping over and 10 days contact with the skins. After malolactic fermentation the wine was bottled without oak aging. Region: Veneto Appellation: Rosso del Veronese IGT Producer: Masi Vintage: 2008 Alcohol:13.5% Grape Varieties: 70% Corvina, 25% Rondinella, 5% Molinara Closure: Cork Producer: Though run by the Boscaini family for six generations, it is really in the last fifty years that Masi has established itself as one of the Veneto's most innovative wine producers. In the late 1950s, they identified certain historic vineyard plots which are vinified as Amarone and bottled separately to this day. In 1964, they launched the now-legendary Campofiorin, which revived the technique of a second fermentation with semi-dried grapes. Masi have also rescued the ancient Oseleta variety from extinction, and continue to use it in two of their celebrated 'Supervenetian' wines. Vineyard: The local Veronese grapes were grown in valleys of the Veronese hills in deep alluvial terrain on eocenic limestone. Due to climatic conditions during the 2007 growing season, ripening phases were brought forward by about two weeks. A fifteen percent green harvest in July was followed by a slightly earlier than usual harvest. Quantities were smaller than usual, and the quality of the grapes were excellent. Winery: Campofiorin is one of Masi's specialities, made using the double fermentation technique. Fermented wine from fresh grapes is re-fermented with twenty-five percent of whole semi-dried grapes of the same varieties. This fermentation lasts for about fifteen days and is followed by the malolactic. The wine then spent a minimum of eighteen months in wood, a mixture of old and new ninety-hectolitre and 600-litre barrels. Taste Attractive, aromatic nose dominated by cherries and spice. Advantages: Simple elegant design, good value for money, not too large

...I shop in Tesco?s a lot and I always think that their range of home ware is second to none in terms of both price and quality. I have a few different types of drinking / wine glasses and one of the better quality for price ones we have are the range from Tesco Finest. These glasses are perfect in terms of size for me as I hate those really large wine glasses which seem to be very popular now...
