Vango Venture 500

Advantages: Good Size, Brilliant Value, High Quality, Sturdy, Easy to Erect
Disadvantages: None that I can think of!

...I purchased my Vango Venture 500 towards the end of 2006. For the bargain price of £85.00 and I haven't looked back since! Numourus camping trips have bee happily spent in this tent and it will see many more! The frame consists of 2 large poles crossing over to make the main dome, and a 3rd smaller pole creating a loop for the porch area. Once erect, with all pegs and guide ropes in place the tent is extremely strong and stable. We have camped in strong winds and strong rain and it has stood strong throughout. As long as there are two of you, erecting the tent is a swift and easy process. Funnily enough you tend to erect it faster when its raining! And packing it back into the bag is an art the first time but you tend to remember how to do it from then onwards and it's easy enough. When packaged, the tent is relatively heavy...

Good Basic TV/DVD Player

Advantages: Great Value and Reasonable Picture
Disadvantages: Basic Sound.

...I was looking for a specific TV with DVD player in one to put in a bedroom to replace an old CRT that had given up on me. The TV has a good picture which can be adjusted as required. There are various modes, movie etc but they all seem a bit orange to me. The best way to set brightness and contrast is to do it manually to your own taste. Setting up channels is a matter of pressing three buttons so that is easy and the instruction manual is really simple to follow. All of the standard connections are on the back SCART, PC Etc The sound quality is basic but then for a cheap television that isn't a suprise. ...The Venturer DMS 8770 is a handy, quite slim, useful little stereo system. The design is simple enough, two speakers on the sides then a detachable cd compartment that can be removed and used as a CD walkman. Underneath that is the controls and a lit up clock. I must admit this took me a while to get the hang of, I couldn't get it to play CDs and I couldn't get it to work as an alarm clock so I just had it there as an expensive clock. After a while of playing around it became more simple. Basically the standby button is the key to most things. Pretty stupid of me not to realise that I needed to turn the thing on first I know but it's me! Venturer CD1822. Not all that good?

Advantages: Portable and light
Disadvantages: Buzzing on sound

...The controls are simple and easy to operate. There is an AM/FM radio with stereo and a CD player. The Venturer looks good. But, looks can be deceptive. The Venturer has a built in aerial, which does away with the telescopic aerial favoured by most other radios. In theory. For sadly the lack of a real aerial also does away with any meaningful stereo reception, unless, perhaps, your house is very close to a transmitter. For if you are in an area of marginal signal strength you will have great difficulty with VHF/FM reception. The CD player is good and easy to operate. However, the problem is that there is a persistent and very annoying loud buzzing noise either through the built-in stereo loudspeakers or through the headphones. In short, I fear that I can't recommend the Venturer for listening to classical music, for example...

Also if your using the AC adaptor and need move the DVD player just plug in the battery, unplug the adaptor and you are good to go! it works great, I've used this feature alot. Venture Leaington Spa - Very GOOD

Venture Portraits in Leamington Spa I've now been to Venture Leamington Spa and i can honestly say....... it was one of the best experiences i have ever had. The staff were very helpful and courteous, the session was brilliant, the shots were great and there was no pressure to buy at any point. I presumed with there being expensive pieces on show there would be, but the staff guided my family where needed and left us to it when we wanted as well. We've now got some great art pieces and i'm very proud. They are at the top end of the market, but you pay for what you get. ...and easy to set up. you can connect your satelite receiver or video recorder to the player and select av in giving surround sound for your normal tv viewing as well. Ours is connected to the digital reciever giving excellent results. Most of the controls are on the remote,where you can adjust volume,individual speaker volume,bass,treble and movie,matrix and bypass settings (these give different effects0as well as all the usual dvd controls like subtitle/pause/slow fwd/slow back and zoom to name but a few. I found out today that this system is made by venturer electronics in Canada.(WWW.venturer.com) An excellent system, I would reccomend taking a look at this one if you are considering buying a dvd theatre system...
