Verbatim DVD+R 4.7 GB 16x - GREAT DVD's
Review of Verbatim DVD+R 4.7 GB 16x by
qasem121
Advantages: Excellent to Store data, home video & music files, 4.7gb, 16x speed, just 5 mins to burn
Disadvantages: None, well None for me
...First of all just like to mention that for me personally Verbatim DVD's are the best QUALITY DVD's.
The Verbatim 16x DVD has 4.7GB of data or 120 minutes of video can be recorded in just 5 minutes. YES JUST FIVE MINUTES, I was surprised by myself that the DVD could be recoreded so QUICKLY.
the 16x discs will ensure any recording to be of the highest quality and the multiplicity compatibility of Verbatim's discs make the DVD's very ideal for sharing and Storing computer data. Great to store Home videos and Music Files on.
Features of Verbatim DVD:
-4.7 GB capacity
-Highest level of recording stability
- The DVD+R offers up to 4 hours of the highest quality MPEG-2 video and is (well it was definatly for me) a cost effective solution for storing, editing of data, audio and video files.

Verbatims that won't let you down!
Review of Verbatim DVD+R 4.7 GB 16x by
AmenTeen
Advantages: Long-life, considerable storage size.
Disadvantages: Not compatible with some os and burners.
...Verbatim has always been brand of quality, giving long-life data disks, solid and fair-sized storage. Well, the overall from my own experience is good, but not excellent because yet verbatim might be nor compatible with some CDRW+/DVD reader, the burning process might tragically fail. It's not to be compared with the two innovations giant both of SONY or Phillips, but again, it's something, I'd trust.
This pack has 50 DVD (DVD+R). Fair enough to store your media files.
These Verbatims DVD+R offer 4.7GB or 120 Minutes of write-once storage capacity, superior recording quality, and compatibility with 1X to 16X DVD+R writers ! It's compatible with most driver brands (Sony, Dell, HP, Compaq, Samsung... Phillips) not to say all.
And of course, it's value for your money.
Tip: don't spot laser or expose the lower surface of the DVD...

Quality branded DVD-R's from TDK
Review of TDK DVD-R 4.7 GB 16x by
miketurner
Advantages: Reputable and reliable
Disadvantages: Bad colour
...I paid about £20 from Adsa for the pack of 100 TDK DVD-R's (4.7Gb, 16 x speed), which I consider to be great value for a reliable, reputable make such as TDK.
I have used about half of the discs so far, mainly for films but also for backing up data, photos etc, from the PC. I have not encountered a single faulty disc, as of yet.
They seem very reliable, and have a write speed of upto 16 x, although I have not been able to test this as my DVD writer only writes at a maximum 4 x.
My only grumble with the discs is the colour. They are printed a metallic blue colour, with a pattern and the TDK logo on. While this is very nice to look at, it isn't very good for writing on with a black marker. Space (to write on the disc, not capacity) is limited because of this....

Verbatim, Very Good, Or Very Slow?
Review of Verbatim DVD-R 4.7 GB 2x by
angiebabyqueen
Advantages: They can copy up to 120 minutes, or 4.7 GB worth of data
Disadvantages: They are very slow and are a long process to copy onto the disk
..., says 8x certified (which I have no idea what it means), advanced AZO, RW DVD+R and 4.7GB/ 129min. now like all girls, I don't know what half of this means, so I will look on the rest of the box, and inside the box for anything that may help me to understand this.
On the left hand side, it says faster recording speed and superior resistance to UV light, and high quality and sound with superb reliability. So I sort of understand this part. What it means is from what I can understand is that it can record sound really well, the pictures that are playing are of good quality and that it records really quickly. Well, I will test this out later. It also has on the side, the disk size, which has a 119mm diameter, 49mm radius, and the hole in the middle has a 21mm diameter. It also has once again, an advanced AZO shape on it, but once again...

Although no longer available (to my knowledge) these were the first Datawrite discs I ever used. Although they were cheap (16p/each), and were not the best quality discs in the world they did the job perfectly well, except that they would not work in my Panasonic DVD-recorder. I therefore moved onto....

No coasters
Review of Infiniti DVD-R Professional 16X by
Mister-Q
Advantages: Price
Disadvantages: None
...Infiniti DVD-R Professional
Speed:- 16X.
Colour:- White top with three lines for text.
Printable:- No
Quantity:- Spindle of 50
Capacity:- 4.7 GB
Format:- DVD-R
Price:- £7.99 VAT free
I have used approximately 200+ of these discs for recording my home videos and I have not had to use any of them as coasters. Having used alternative discs with a failure rate of 10 - 50% these discs are fantastic.
I have used them on my PC for viewing and recording and I also have a JVC DVD recorder and a Panasonic DVD player both of which accept these discs without any problems.
There are three lines on the top of the disc for information but I you can write anywhere on the topside of the disc.
Excellent price for an excellent disc.

Speed it up
Review of Ridisc Media DVD+R 4.7 GB 16x by
slik321
Advantages: good memory, fast speed
Disadvantages: nothing partcularly special
...Blank dvd discs are a number one essential item for people who want to record movies, music, pictures and programs onto an external source so as to watch/use on a dvd player/other computer. By far one of the most reputable brands in blank DVD's and CD's is the RiDisc, which is always being re-evaluated and upgraded constantly so as to bring the best and most efficient product to the consumers.
Design - nearly every brand of disc retains the basic style which is the main colour thee then the diagonal slash which leaves room for the owner to write the name/details of the disc. The brand name is large writing at the top of the disc and to the left is the specification in which the disc adheres to. The disk is 16X which relates to the speed at which the disc can burn data from your computer, it has 4.7GB of memory and runs in the format...

Not just an ordinary DVD
Review of Verbatim DVD+R 4.7 GB 4x by
donf18
Advantages: They are most impressive to look at
Disadvantages: none
...is a smaller image of the film reel. Under this is the basic description of the DVD this being DVD+R.
The speed at which data can be written to this DVD is only fourX which may be a bit of an off put to those who like the 48X speed. This I feel though is a small price to pay considering the quality of the graphics and the obvious thought that has been put into the production of these very nice DVD's. On a diagonal with the wording previously mentioned there are 2 matt white areas where one can insert any title of information they desire. Giving that the quality of production of the graphics on the DVD's is superb, I suggest taking a little more care than usual in doing this and perhaps even busting the budget of an half decent pen to do the writing.
All in all these DVD's are easily worth the asking price of the online retailers, but since I...

An Exciting Review on Blank DVD-R`s
Review of BulkPaq Orange DVD-R 4X by
stuleg
Advantages: Store a lot of data
Disadvantages: You need a DVD-R Drive to write to them
...I am sure you are really excited about the prospect of reading a review about blank DVD-R`s, but actually blank DVD-R`s are quite exciting because of their ability to hold vast amounts of data. Not so long ago, people were able to back up all of their important data on floppy disks, then came the advent of the CD-R, a medium on which up to 700 MB of data could be stored safely and quickly. But with the arrival of such blank media so the need to store more and more data arrived, the last time I backed up my important data it took four CD-R`s to complete the job. A time consuming task changing the CD-R`s and the rising costs involved prompted me to take the next step up and buy a DVD-R drive, and of course some blank DVD-R`s to use in it.
While researching both the DVD-R drive and the blank media to use in it one name was constantly...

stable DVD-/+R!!!
Review of TDK DVD-R 4.7 GB by
zikiman
Advantages: Very good brand
Disadvantages: none at the moment
...This DVD-/+R is absolutely amazing, it has never let me down!
First, the This type of DVD is said to be Data/Video and it does what the description say.
When i first burnt my home video on to this DVD-/+R and played it on my DVD player, i thought it wasn't going to recognize it, however it played it correctly without jumping tracks or anything!. I tried burning with my other DVD-/+R but all of them didn't recognized my home video, sadly! Personally, i would go for DVD+R for burning home videos.
Burning it using data as a storage also delivers a high quality. There were no errors and each time, it recognized the disc because some 'crappy' DVD-/+R doesn't even load it on the computer, HOwever, TDK is top-notch.
The burning speed for DVD is 1-4x so it's not that slow. To burn the whole Data of 4.7gb would take about 30 minutes...
