Mighty Acer Veriton M464 microtower...

Advantages: fast and powerful, energy efficient, large storage space, future proof
Disadvantages: graphic card

...software (see product information). No monitor. I believe that most people already have a decent monitor so I will not use this as a disadvantage. Yes. Even with its price tag. Warranty is limited to - 1 year - carry-in. My verdict: ACER Veriton M464 is perfect for private companies and academic institutions where large calculations are being performed, huge databases are being accessed, and complex problems are being solved. But this is also why would it be a great choice for anyone's everyday use and because of it's tremendous speed and power it should give you peace of mind for years to come....

Logitech Z-5500...It will blow your head off!!!

Advantages: Very loud, very good quality, easy to set up
Disadvantages: Big and heavy subwoofer but that's to be expected!

..., I did some research on the type of connectors I would need and where to plug them in. As it turned out I could theoretically plug some speakers straight into the ps3 via optical cable to deal with games and films. So, pretty simple then...or not. I never thought it would be so hard to find some reasonably priced speakers! Almost all of the surround sound kits come with a DVD player which I did not need because of the ps3's ability to play them as well as Blue rays.... So after failing miserably to find any, I eventually came across the Logitech Z-5500 - and I'm glad that I did. ~ The Setup I Have Now Got ~ When I found these speakers I originally thought that they would not be suitable due to the fact that on the box it says they are to be used mainly for PC's - but this was printed long before the PS3 came about, apparently. Now my set...

Nokia 5500 Sport

Advantages: Durable, packed with features
Disadvantages: mmmmm none that I can see

...Nokia 5500 Sport In a nut shell : Candybar type phone, lightweight, durable, packed to the brim with user freindly features, Good camera, good sounds. Features : Well to start with its got a groovy wee torch, that you can turn on from a single button press ( no fumbling around in menus etc ). Its got Bluetooh, infrared, and a microSD memory card slot, which can take up to 1gb, although I have heard rumours that a 2gb can be used ( not tried it yet though ). A 2mpg camera and a radio and a pedometer (step counter). It also has a speech thing that narrates your text messages to you whilst you are out and about. In music mode you can tap the phone and it changes tracks etc. It`s the same in sports mode, by tapping it does various other things. So, should you get a 5500? It depends on what you want. For me its absolutely perfect...

Sony KDL-46W5500 - awesome LCD TV with stunning pictures

Advantages: Stunning pictures, loaded with features, useful extra connection options
Disadvantages: Expensive - but it is a Sony

...Finally decided to upgrade my old Trintron CRT and spent the past 3 months or so looking at the various LCDs available out there. I initially settled on a Sony KDL46W4500 after seeing one in a store and was just about to part with my hard earned cash when I started reading reviews and read about the so-called dreaded 'backlight bleed'. Given the high cost of the Sony, this completely put me off, so it was back to the drawing board for me. I spent more time looking around but never quite found a set I fancied as much as the 46W4500, that was until the Sony KDL46W5500 came out. I couldn't find any reviews but found it online at a very competitive price so I decided to take a chance on it. All I can say is I'm glad I took the risk. The picture on this set is nothing short of stunning. I don't have HD installed yet but the SD picture is...

Will it get 5500/5500 or 5/5500?

Advantages: Cheap, Simple, Does it's job, Clear enough...
Disadvantages: ...Not HD quality, Kinda small, not incredibly vibrant colours

...So Still sat in the Uni Library (see the COMPAQ Evo review), and I though I'd review the monitor that's sat inches in front of my bored and sad little face. It's a startling silver colour (imagine a silver ps2/ps3 if you would) on the front, with a dull black casing away from the front panel. The product name is at the top of the monitor just above the screen) with COMPAQ in red to the "viewers" left and "5500" in black to the right. Theres three buttons in the centre (menu, - and +) with an on/off switch to the right...all pretty bog standard really. The size, 15" isn't really upto much, I'd feel much more "at home" (my house PC, not laptop is 19") with a larger screen but I guess it's acceptable if nothing else. The quality is possibly off todays standards of HD ready 1080i monitors, but it's again an acceptable standard. However...

Nokia 5500 Good Phone

Advantages: Great phone with lots of freatures and good battery life
Disadvantages: Can be slow sometimes when working from the memory card

...This phone is great if your you are always dropping your phone like me. I have dropped this one quite a few times with no ill effects whereas previous phones i have had have just smashed on contact with the ground, I put this down to it having a robust body and being very sterile built. The phone is also dust resistant and has a sealed case which is good because nothing cab get into the phone but it leave no room for personalization because the case of the phone can't be changed .Nokia mainly aimed the phone at the building trade but its a good phone for anyone. The Nokia 5500 is packed with features that you would expect in the very high end phones. It is bluetooth 2.0 compliant , a feature i use regularly, and it supports all the usual features that most mobile phones have nowadays such as GPRS and a camera(see specs for full...

Fujifilm S5500

Advantages: Price, Looks, Feel, and most importantly images.
Disadvantages: Speed from off to ready to shoot

...Background: I bought the S5500 by accident. I teach PhotoShop and one of my students has an S5500 so I knew it was a nice bit of kit, but I was not looking for a new camera (I already had a cam that was fine for the time being) so it was academic. My Girlfriend had said a few times that she wanted a digi-cam, but the S5500 was not an option here either. This is where luck and/or fate stepped in, I had to fly to Bangkok with a colleague on business, and he wanted to buy a camera there, as they were cheaper. I had rather stupidly left my camera at home, so decided to accompany him and get a cheap disposable. While at the shop I noticed the S5500 on the shelf for far less than I had seen it for in the UK, I bought it as my new main camera and phoned my girlfriend to tell her my old camera was now hers, everybody was happy. The Look...

5500 deer and 210 people!

Advantages: Quiet yet wild, remote but civilised, no queues for anything!
Disadvantages: Relatively difficult and expensive to get to, cost of living is higher

... Jura ? right on the mainland?s doorstep, yet has all the feel of a remote island ?5500 deer and around 200 people? ? you could almost sum up the Isle of Jura using those few words, and I?ve seen brief references to the island in guidebooks on Scotland do just that. However, that?s really short-changing the island and its people, so I?m going to try and do Jura some justice, give it the five-star treatment and pack as much detail as I can, gleaned from just a single visit back in May 2009. I do want to return to the island at some point ? but its relative isolation makes this somewhat difficult, which probably explains why the place is one of Scotland?s hidden attractions. You really have to want to go to Jura in order to find yourself there ? it?s not a place that you?ll find yourself at by accident. Jura? Never heard of it...

Fujifilm FinePix S5500

Advantages: Price, Weight, functions,
Disadvantages: Start up time

...I have always been a compact camera user and very much the amateur snapper, However after spending some time with a friend of mine who is a semi-pro photographer I discovered just how addictive it can be to get "The right Shot". Following this I recently decided to move up a step and get a better camera. I was concidering going down the Digi SLR road but decided that would be too expensive in these early stages and was recommended to have alook at the Finepix S5500. They Retail at about £280 but after a bit of internet bargin hunting I managed to get one with 256mb of XD memory for £200. The only downfall with this was that the entire user manual was in GERMAN!! This ceased to be a problem when I Registered the camera on the Fuji website and was able to download the English version in PDF format. The camera itself is...
