Advantages: Crystal clear graphics, S- video connectable, so many plugs and ports. If you've got a monitor and no TV, use this. Disadvantages: Doesn't support 60hz mode, and who has an 80cm monitor?
...No, VGA doesn't stand for Voluptuous Graphics Attack, it stands for Video graphics adaptor... doesn't it? Anyway, this little device does provide the opportunity for your DC to show what it's really capable of in the graphics department. It connects to the video output of your DC, and instead of cables going to the TV, it hooks up to your standard 15 pin PC monitor. It doesn't go through the PC, just straight to the monitor.
The power to the monitor is provided by the DC, just like most PC's do.
The VGA adaptor I have has the option of connecting multimedia speakers that have a standard 3.5 mm plug, so you can get sound. It also has outputs for connecting to an S-Video TV, and outputs for A/V plugs. So really, this unit is a spare connecting tool in case your standard A/V plugs die, or if you're a lucky bugger and have an S...

Review of VGA-Box (DC)
Advantages: Better Clarity to visuals Disadvantages: Some old Xbox games wont run via this cable
...If you are currently running your XBOX 360 through a TV using the supplied RGB Cables then you are missing out on the power of the 360.
When I first bought mine in December 2005 I was using the supplied RGB Cables , this was o.k I was happy with the result , But I wanted desperately to try the HD modes .
I had visions of spending £600+ On a New Fangled HDTV from the local Argos Until I read that Literally any old PC monitor would run the XBOX 360 in HDTV mode with these cables !!!
I spent my hard earned cash on a set & hooked them up to my Relisys LCD TV ( P.C Monitor & TV all in one) Using the VGA Input . I went to the settings for the 360 & changed to it to 1360 x 768 .
The Difference was unbelievable !! , trust me you WILL NOT want to plug those old RGB cables in after this . Everything is much clearer , Crisper & better...
Advantages: Fast and quiet. Dual DVI. No compatibility problem with games. Very fast. Disadvantages: No DX10 support.
.... It has 256mb of RAM which is enough for all of the new games. But it is not supporting DX10.
In July 2007, X1950XT series was chosen by the famous TomsHardware website as one of the best gaming cards around.
So, if you are not going to pay your valuable money on DX10 supporting cards (which the good ones are at least 150 USD more expensive), this VGA card is what you want. However, I even recommend this card more than ATI 2600 series which supports DX10. I have seen a very low performance in gaming by the newly arrived 2600 cards.
This card generates quite low amount of noise although it enjoys a big cooling system.
If you are thinking about X1950XT vs 1950Pro, I would recommend X1950XT, since it enjoys a newer technology and delivers about 10%-15% better performance.
Note: You will be needing a very powerful power supply unit...
...the I needed to go away and get a VGA cable to hook it up and that's what I did. Since I have alot of things around my TV (lots of computers things and electricity) I didnt want any sort of crosstalk (disturbance on the cable from other electrical devices- its quite rare now but not unheard of) I made sure that i got a double shielded wire, the best one of these that i could find was the Belkin PRO series. This basically means that it has 2x the amount of protective sheath around the cable so that nothing can get through and distort the signal. Belkin are one of the leaders in computer products, they make everything from routers to cables and I have a few of their products and they have never gone wrong for me, so I trust them and their products. I went to my local computer shop and got this cable for the very reasonable price of £3...
Advantages: Cheap and really useful Disadvantages: non that I can think of
...Since I'm still a poor penniless student i was over the moon when my mam got me a 42" HD TV for an early birthday present. When it finally got delivered I was going crazy thinking about all the possibilities of things I could do with it, when I turned it around i saw a familiar little port. It was a VGA port, the port that is on the back of my computer that connects it to my monitor. So I decided that I would be daring and have a 42" monitor for my computer monitor.
I needed to go away and get a VGA cable to hook it up and that's what I did. Advantages: watch movies on your tv from your laptop Disadvantages: none
....
This cable is a belkin one, which is a company who have been making computer accessories and wireless devices for a number of years and are very well known for it. They are also well know for their good quality and reliable cables and make so many different types there one for whatever you need to do really.
Because this is a VGA cable one end goes in your PC or laptop and the other in the back of your TV. It really a s simple as that. All laptops and pcs being made now have this capability to plug this cable into them and the port is usually a blue one which is longer but a little thinner than a USB port. Some really older pcs might not have the port however anything newer than 5 years should definitely have it.
There are 2 screws on each of the ends which are there to screw into your pc or laptop and then your TV as well...
Advantages: Easy to install, affordable, very effective Disadvantages: Large unit
...Hurricane 8800 VGA cooler, and have not looked back.
It can be installed in 3 different configurations. You can leave it as shown in the image, you can remove the plastic guard (which I believe actually reduces performance, but looks better) or you can remove the fan all together for a silent approach. This is not very good though unless you already have plenty of air movement inside the case, to remove the warm air from the hurricane's fins. My guess though, is that you wouldn't be looking at buying anything like this if you already have sufficient air movement to keep everything cool...
When you open the box you find the main unit itself, a fan controller, and some sticky heat sinks to place on the ram chips on your graphics card. You also get instructions which walk you through the job nicely.
It is easy enough to remove the casing...
Advantages: Great Value for Money, so easy to overclock Disadvantages: Not going to come close to current generation of cards
...This card, is from the Geforce 4 series of cards. We're now onto the Geforce 6 series, so you can tell, this card is getting old. It's not going to be able to compete with the new generation of cards that are being released, but it is probably one of the best budget cards around.
A little lesson in hardware. VGA cards, have many processor pipelines, you can think of these as separate processors, it enables the processor to do calculations in parallel and thus increase the performance. Nowadays, when a company releases a budget card, it's been slowed down by having the number of processor pipelines choked down.
Not so with the Geforce Ti4200, back in the day, all manufacturers did with these cards to differentiate them from their costlier more powerful brothers, was to slow them down. But the thing is, anyone who knows anything...
Advantages: Forget HDTV's, use your monitor instead Disadvantages: Analogue signal is slightly inferior to digital (not supported by standard 360 anyway)
...There is a reason this cable is more expensive than other brands, and is out of stock often; it is quite simply a superior product. This official Microsoft cable won't cause loss of true colours and will produce a brilliant picture on an LCD/CRT PC monitor or an HDTV. Third Party versions of this cable are prone to interference from lights, PC's, the Xbox itself etc., colour loss and loss of quality. They are completely unshielded from these kinds of interference, and are comparable to the array of iPod docking stations with 'tinny' speakers and a poorly constructed plastic feel. Microsoft have produced a high quality product here, and this justifies the extra few pounds.
But onto the product's features. Why use a VGA cable you may ask? The VGA interface will allow you to output a high definition video signal to a TV with a VGA...
Advantages: The games look FANTASTIC, HD For ALL! Disadvantages: None, seriously, get one!
...I have had my XBOX 360 now for about 3 Months, and have been blown away by the great games, and also the great Media Center abilities of this console. But, I have been playing it through my old 51cm TV with the normal component cables. I thought the games looked pretty good compared to other consoles......and then I bought this puppy, wow, what a revelation.
I scrapped the TV for an old computer monitor, a Sony 21" Flat CRT that I got for next to nothing from a second hand dealer and hooked up the cable....I could not believe the difference, the resolution is increased 10 fold, the images are no longer grainy, the lighting effects are crisp and sharp, just by installing this simple cable to my old VGA monitor, I have increased my gaming pleasure by a factor of a 100, not to mention that my playing time has increased as my eyes do not...
