Excellent hotel in Vienna

Advantages: Large rooms, clean, with firendly staff.
Disadvantages: 10 minute walk to shops and cathedral

...The Hilton Vienna Plaza is an excellent hotel located on the Ringstrasse in Central Vienna, I will talk more about the hotels location later on. Before I arrived at the hotel I emailed the manager with a few questions about the local area and the hotel etc. The hotel staff are incredibly friendly and I received an email back with all of my questions answered which was helpful. It took around twenty minutes to get to the hotel from the Airport, although on my way back to the airport at the end of my stay it took about thirty minutes because of heavier traffic. Check-in was fast and very efficient, the hotel staff were friendly and gave me a map of the local area. I booked to stay in a standard king room, the rooms at the hotel are a very nice size. ...This is a smart and clean hotel in the central part of Vienna. The capital is within walking distance but the hotel is also close to the tram stops making travel even easier. Consider booking via their website or an independent agent, for best prices. Apply for the 'free' Hilton Honours card (rewards available and priority checkin & checkout). The staff are helpful and nothing is too much. Breakfast is very good with a varied choice of foods. The hotel bars are small but never seemed to get fully packed out. Ask for some nuts and a bowl for free will be supplied. The rooms are comfortable and of a good size. Its very clean throughout. The gym is tiny but there is a spa and its suitable to take a glass & drinks into. I've given it a 5star excellent rating as it was fault free. The service is superb, the hotel clean and tidy...

Small, but perfectly formed hotel in Vienna

Advantages: Classy, comfortable, fantastic breakfast
Disadvantages: Not overly expensive, but the rates match how nice it is

Astounded at how quickly the years had passed and determined to reward ourselves for our staying power, we looked for a suitably romantic/memorable way to mark the occasion. It was my husband who hit on the idea of getting the night train to Vienna (must write about this too) and I was tasked with selecting the hotel. I would have to say that this is one of the best hotels I have stayed in! For those who have stayed in Hiltons before, you know what to expect! Advantages: Walking enables best viewing sytem but an efficient public transport system provides a good alternative

...I am writing this review on ?Getting around Vienna? from the stance of a tourist as this is the only experience I have of Vienna. If you plan a longer visit, it would be advisable to research further. There is so much to see in Vienna (as you?ve probably realised from my growing set of reviews on the city). The city itself is quite compact and so is relatively easily negotiated by foot. Walking is the best way to view Vienna, as there is always something to see on every street that could otherwise be missed. The public transport system operating in Vienna is ultra efficient and very easy to use. If you plan to use public transport (and I do strongly recommend this), it is best to buy a ticket in advance. These are available in newsagents, ticket machines or at an underground office. Hotels often also stock these ? we got ours...

...I use Alicante airport for my annual break in Spain and find it is convenient and fairly easy to use. It is situated just outside Alicante on the Costa Blanca, around 46.5km from Benidorm. It is within driving distance of Valencia, around two hours and 179km. Arrivals You would probably fly to Alicante if you were staying in Benidorm, Torrevieja, Altea, Calpe, Moraira or Teulada. It is popular with budget airlines such as Easyjet and Bmibaby and there are flights from many regional airports in the UK such as East Midlands, Liverpool, Bristol, Newcastle and Stansted to name a few. ...Chicago airport. On a recent visit to san Diego, we had to have a stop in Chicago airport for a couple of hours...most of my travelling seems to be spent in airports! It was the busiest airport in the United States until Atlanta became the busiest and it was apparently voted best airport in North America in 2000...that's 8 years ago so i don't know which airport has been winning since then.
