Viewsonic VA915 monitor
Review of ViewSonic VA915 by
mjgfish
Advantages: Great contrast, excellent picture, anti-glare
Disadvantages: Can lose conection about 3 times a year
...monitor to a 19-inch VA915 LCD display.
I know Viewsonic are a decent company as I have had some products from them before and haven't had any problems with them. Therefore before I even got my hands on the monitor I had faith that my Viewsonic VA915 monitor would last me a while, as long as it was good overall.
Well when I first got the box with the monitor in I must comment on the fact it was well packaged wrapped up so it looked like it was very durable no matter how rough the postal service may be with it. When getting the monitor it came with the monitor itself obviously, it had all the necessary wires that are needed to connect to a CPU, installation CD and instruction booklet.
The instruction booklet came in a lot of languages, even some I didn't have a clue what they were which shows to me that Viewsonic are confident about...

Price drops make the Viewsonic VG150 a compelling value
Review of ViewSonic VG150 by
Uncle_Tippet
Advantages: Very light and brightest in its class. Replaces a 17" regular monitor.
Disadvantages: Hard to thread cords in the back of monitor. Not suitable for high-action games
...Recent price drops (and manufacturer rebates) make flat panel LCD monitors compelling. The Viewsonic now VG150 costs about $450 (I bought mine for $399 after rebate) and works very well. WOW is the word I use to describe it. It's important to note that a 15" LCD monitor replaces a 17" regular monitor. The LCD monitor uses the entire screen without the black frame that regular monitors have.
Here's how the VG150/VG150b stacks up to standard Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) monitors and its competitors (e.g. Samsung):
Size and Weight
At 11 lbs, it's lighter than any regular CRT monitor. It compares very well with many other flat panel displays on the market. So weight was a big factor in my switching to a flat panel display. But given that the monitor will be sitting on my desk 99% of the time, weight was not important in my comparisons...

PF 790 - Professional quality monitor
Review of ViewSonic PF790 by
rex73
Advantages: Great Look, Quality of Workmanship, Ergonomic Design, Ease of use
Disadvantages: None noted.
...If you are looking for a professional grade flat screen CRT monitor that will meet your demanding needs and if you would not mind to pay a bit extra for an exceptional quality, ease of use and great design, than perhaps you should look at this great model offered through Viewsonic.
Viewsonic has always been considered amongst those who know their monitors as a "Cadillac of Monitors" and the PF790 has been considered to be a "cream of crop" amongst Viewsonic's line of Flat Screen 19" CRT monitor screens.
This alone has to say a lot about this great looking and even greater functioning and performing monitor screen, yet it takes a person to see him or herself one of those to truly and really appreciate the beauty and functionality this unit has to offer.
Viewsonic was always known to offer a great attention to detail...

Great Monitor
Review of ViewSonic E790 by
rex73
Advantages: Price, Quality and Reliability, Ease of Use
Disadvantages: Entry level monitor with somewhat lowered resolution / functionality comparing to other Viewsonic monitors
...For years Viewsonic has been known to produce the top quality monitors that looked great but worked even greater. However, with such quality and reliability, also came a hefty price tag. Thus an average home or small business user that was on a tight budget had to look elsewhere if he or she was to be able to afford a 19" monitor.
Furthermore, Viewsonic monitors were also known to be able to hold quite stunning resolution and DPI (higher resolution and lower DPI numbers meant greater quality), so they were a preferred choice of graphic designers, avid gamers and other professionals and individuals who depended greatly on high end features of their monitor.
However, many home users and small business users cried for the name Viewsonic for a different reason. Ever since Panasonic went out of business of making a regular screen (CRT...

ViewSonic PF77 - Eye Friendly CRT
Review of ViewSonic PF77 by
elston
Advantages: Friendly on the eyes, DVI and Analogue input, flat screen
Disadvantages: Looks.
...I was looking for a 17-inch monitor that was good on the eyes when sat in front of for long periods of time. Not that I would advise anyone to do that, but my girlfriend was just starting her Computer Animation course at university in September 2000.
After looking around for what was available I decided to buy the 'ViewSonic OptiSync PF77'. It had received a number awards and I knew that ViewSonic was a very respectable brand. It cost me £220 at the time, which as I recall was not that bad at the time.
Starting with it's looks I have to say that it is ok to look at but nothing I would call special, but then in my opinion very few CRT monitors actually look good! It does have a rather large bit of plastic at the base of the screen where the menu buttons are found, however the buttons are actually the same level as the casing and don...

Space Saving Monitor Screen
Review of ViewSonic G790 by
rex73
Advantages: Short Depth, Quality, Reliability, Image Crispnes
Disadvantages: None Noted
...sits, than the Viewsonic's graphical series G - series are something you should consider).
G790 is a 19" Monitor (18" Viewable area) with the relative Footprint of a 17" monitor thus making it an ideal space saver for your home or office environment.
As far as the quality is concerned, the Viewsonic has been known to be a leader in monitor production, leading brilliantly with the look of their product, the iron clad quality and stunning crispness of images and graphics. Bundled with easy to use on screen programmable menu and a stunning 0.22 DPI horizontal and only a 0.14 DPI vertical and a maximum resolution of 1600 x 1200 pixels this monitor is a definite beauty.
For those of you that are newbies to monitor markets and terminology, the combination of smaller DPI and larger resolution will produce better and more realistic image...

Excellent Pro quality monitor
Review of ViewSonic VP930 by
zedreview
Advantages: High contrast, very crisp and sharp, high viewing angle
Disadvantages: Provided software more a pain than an advantage
...The Viewsonic VP930 monitor is, according to Viewsonic, one of their higher end LCD monitors as it is in their "Pro Series". Well I have little reason to argue, although it isn't perfect.
The overall look of it before you turn it on is very nice, with narrow silver coloured borders and a black, sturdy stand. The monitor can be adjusted up and down easily without having to turn any knobs. You just put a little pressure downwards or upwards, and it will easily move, then stay in the place you leave it. It sounds a bit "cheap" but it's actually a very nice movement, and makes it handy so you can adjust it without reaching behind to turn something. It's also very easy to turn left or right, again with no knobs to have to turn. Another feature it has, which personally I don't see any need for, is the ability to twist the whole display 90...

1 of the best monitors on the market for the price
Review of ViewSonic VP730 by
benzas
Advantages: Excellent in every way
Disadvantages: Native resolution (common to all TFT's)
...I recently purchased this monitor to accompany my new Dell Dimension 9100 (see other review). Unfortunately i don't think the 17" and 19" monitors dell supplies are very good.
I chose black, and damn does it look good sitting on my desk.
Viewsonic are currently producing the best 17" and 19" TFT monitors on the market if you don't want to spend over £300, and why would you when you get all this for around £200.
The viewsonics are superbly designed in every way. They can be rotated by 90 degrees into a portrait alignment, and you get software which can automatically rotate your desktop too, brilliant if you are writing long documents. They have near perfect viewing angles, you can look at them from anywhere and they maintain an incredibly bright and clear image. The monitor can be raised and lowered, and tilted in a large range...

The Geeks back...... 19" TFT by Viewsonic VX922
Review of ViewSonic VX922 by
projectneon
Advantages: Screen Size, Features, Design / Finish, Quality, 2ms for Gaming !!
Disadvantages: None found so far
...was going to have to pay for it. It was looking like it was going to cost me the best part of £300.
This was actually a little over the budget that I had set for a new screen. I found a couple of 'decent' screens, which were in budget but they were either 15" or 17". I really wanted a 19" screen.
I then came across the Viewsonic VX922 - quite by co-incidence after receiving an eMail from an online store that I use quite a lot for components etc, and my luck was in, they were having a sale on TFT screens.
After reading a couple of reviews on the screen, I decided to give it a blast. I phoned, and ordered the screen, and was actually told that I was lucky, they had just that day received in a new shipment, and they were selling fast. Apparently their last shipment lasted 3 days, they sold nearly 1000 of them !!!!
I waited...

Exellent monitor
Review of ViewSonic E790 by
tycoon
Advantages: High Quality
Disadvantages: No
...The viewsonic E790 is an excellent monitor for its price. the technical specifications call for a 19" monitor, 18" viewable. it has a 0.26 dot pitch and the maximum resolution is 1600x1200@76MHz. be prepared to use a large font if you want to push the monitor to this resolution. the nicest feature of this monitor is that the CRT is an Invar Shadow Mask. monitors typically fall into one of two categories. their CRT (the actually meat of the monitor) is typically made out of one of two tubes. the shadow mask or the aperture grille. many monitors use the trinitron tube, which uses an aperture grille. one of the unfortunate qualities of an aperture grille is that for monitors of this size, there are 2 faint lines that run across your screen, which are most visible when you have whitespace. these are the grille lines. there is one running...
