ViewSonic VX922 Xtreme Gaming
Advantages: Quality 19" Monitor which is Bright, Sharp with Colourful images, 2ms Response Time
Disadvantages: A bit more expenisve than your average monitor, but worth it!
...Took me a while to decide to take the plunge from my beloved 17" Dell CRT, Which through the 3 years, besides its huge rear-end never warranted a reason to be replaced. But me being a gadget freak and my friends wondering why I still used a CRT decided now is the time.
I again before buying anything researched thoroughly on the internet to be sure I'm spending my money wisely and compared to my friends had the best TFT available within a reasonable price bracket. TFT's have come along way since I last remembered and are competing with CRTs with performance and cost.
I first found the ViewSonic vx924 (not the vx922 which this model is) and was blown away when I saw it in the show room, looked a remarkable product of great quality and performance, even the guy at the showroom said he owned this model and its never let him down...

The Geeks back...... 19" TFT by Viewsonic VX922
Advantages: Screen Size, Features, Design / Finish, Quality, 2ms for Gaming !!
Disadvantages: None found so far
...going to have to pay for it. It was looking like it was going to cost me the best part of £300.
This was actually a little over the budget that I had set for a new screen. I found a couple of 'decent' screens, which were in budget but they were either 15" or 17". I really wanted a 19" screen.
I then came across the Viewsonic VX922 - quite by co-incidence after receiving an eMail from an online store that I use quite a lot for components etc, and my luck was in, they were having a sale on TFT screens.
After reading a couple of reviews on the screen, I decided to give it a blast. I phoned, and ordered the screen, and was actually told that I was lucky, they had just that day received in a new shipment, and they were selling fast. Apparently their last shipment lasted 3 days, they sold nearly 1000 of them !!!!
I waited...

ViewSonic VX1935wm
Advantages: Fast, Sleek, beautiful colour
Disadvantages: Pricey
...DVD's on. It is widescreen so widescreen DVD's go perfect with it.
The design of this monitor is lovely. It doesn't look or feel cheaply built. That is probably reflected in the price a bit I suppose. This monitor supports DVI and analog inputs. I use DVI and it works fine. Have not tested analog but probably works just as good. It has one power input in the back with the cable included. The input cables are also included.
It comes with a multi-language instruction manual which is super easy to understand (providing you are reading the right language). Viewsonic offers good online support I find and the website is easy for me to navigate to find.
I purchased this monitor for around 200£ I believe from www.ebuyer.com.
Overall I feel this money is of superb quality and was well worth spending the extra money. Now anyone who...

VX922, Quality!
Advantages: Good looks, great performance.
Disadvantages: You have to pay that little bit more for a 2ms response time.
...After previously having a Viewsonic VX912 with a somewhat lacking 24ms response time or something quite ridiculous when compared to this new piece of kit, and an old pc, it was time for me to upgrade to the new VX922.
At first glance i have to admit, i was wondering what I was paying for. It looked exactly the same as the last monitor I had, but then again the looks of it are not to be worried about. It looks sleek and I personally think it has a lot of style when compared to other monitors on the market.
So I proceeded to plug it in, with the choice of either VGA or DVI, which both can be nicely tucked away with the power cable behind a protective cover thats removable from the back.
So far everything was going well and a look at the instruction manual told me everything I needed to know. It even comes with its own driver...

Microsoft Lifecam VX-3000 struggles to be a Live cam
Advantages: Good picture quality
Disadvantages: No end of trouble with Windows Live Messenger
...Introduction
Since the late 90s at work, we have always used webcams to provide the photo identity for our ID cards. We have never had any preference to a particular make meaning we have tried 3Com, Creative and Logitech in the past. Now it was Microsoft's turn in the form of the Lifecam VX-3000. This camera was supposedly a middle of the range camera at its time of release, higher in spec than the VX-1000, but lower than the VX-6000.
In the box
Considering the size of this webcam and the fact there wasn't a user manual included in paper form, I found the box to be very bulky. In typical Microsoft fashion the box was big and bold and was definitely the brainchild of the Microsoft marketing department as a box half the size would surely have been sufficient. Along with the webcam was a quickstart guide and a CD...

View Sonic VX1940w 19" LCD HD Widescreen
Advantages: HD, Widescreen, High Resolution, many features & security
Disadvantages: NONE TO DATE.
... View Sonic VX1940w 19" LCD HD Widescreen
Purchased this monitor from PC World, it cost me £150, which was a bargain indeed, its super powerful performance and video response of 2ms, puts it top of the chain, with many added features such as 1680 x 1050 HD Resolution and 3000:1 dynamic contrast ration.
The monitor itself is a slim stylish bezel design without taking up valuable desk space... The high neck and floating head design accentuate the visual experience, although you can also but a wall of desk ark to completely remove the monitor from the desk fact. The design gets a 10/10.
Another bonus to this monitor is that it is Windows Vista Verified, and has many security features such as, the Kensington Security port, which deters theft, and prevents your settings from been altered, very useful, if you have a family...

Webcamtastic for Microsoft Lifecam VX3000
Advantages: Value for Money, Trusted Brand, Quality Picture, Ease of Use
Disadvantages: Slow Face Tracking,
...I recently decided to upgrade my aging Pace webcam and after looking at various models of new super dooper cams I plumped for the Microsoft Lifecam VX3000.
Microsoft seem to dominate the world with products nowadays, however it is a name you can trust and generally you get a good quality product. This was true when I received the unit, it had a quality feel to it.
Microsoft have various incarnations of their webcams ranging from the entry level VX1000 to the highly specced and highly priced VX6000, whilst I suppose you pay for what you get, i was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the images from the unit.
After the installation of the drivers from the enclosed CD, it's a straight foward process, just plugging into a spare USB socket and windows recognises the device and loads the drivers for it. It will then go through...

A brilliant piece of kit!!
Advantages: Great picture, high resolution
Disadvantages: Screen height cannot be adjusted
...I recently purchased a new computer, so I started looking for a new monitor. I needed a fast response time, because I play a lot of games and watch and edit dvd's.
I scoured the normal websites, reading various reviews, when I came upon Viewsonic. To be honest, I had never heard of them before, but upon reading various articles, I found them to be one of the best monitor producers currently around.
So I decided to go for a VX912.
It has changed the way everything looks!! Pictures are so detailed, the colours are so crisp. Why I had never bought one before is beyond me!! It really is a different world to the old crt monitor I had before.
I have read reports of people buying monitors with dead pixels, no such thing with the VX912. Every pixel is perfect.
Ease of use is brilliant. Simply connect the pc to the monitor via...

Onda VX787 review
Advantages: Larg storage, large and clear screen. In-built fm transmitter, ebooks, long battery life
Disadvantages: Very buggy software, often frustrating, unresponsive without updates
...The stylish box that holds the Onda VX787 partially reassured me that I had bought well. As I open the box the player itself looks stylish but maybe a bit large. However a large touchscreen makes using the interface easier. As I hold down the power button I am greted with a nice opening animation however what then is shown to me is largely dissapointing. The default settings on the player for background and language are in chinese and the chosen background is ghastly. However after changing these settings the player looks good.
I try to use the player but find it very frustrating as the touchscreen is very slow and unresponsive. I almost began to think that my player was broken. However I then used the internet to update my player. Once I had done this I was much happier with the player. Transfer of files onto the player is very simple...

Palm Vx
Advantages: Sleek modern design
Disadvantages: Calibration Problems can occur!
...This device is overall excellent and i would recommend it to anybody looking for a cheap PDA, however it has a few minor problems. Firstly, the small amount of memory, it has only 2MB of storage and yes most palm apps are small but it means only having a few on at once if, however, you are going to use this solely for storing adresse etc. then it is more than enough memory.
Digidisease - This is a terrible problem that the palm Vx and many before it suffer from. It occurs when the PDA becomes very badly calibrated, the only way to get to the calibration screen is through a menu accessed in the top right corner (which you cant tap on if the calibration is out!) so you have to hard reset! This loses all of your data, however the problem does not stop there, if you then sync with the comp your old calibration settings are restored...
