...The village hotel & leisure club in Wirral Have recently joined here and at £32 per month, each, we feel we have a bargain. They even waved the joining fee, normally £70. We joined, my wife and I, on the ?Flexi? promotion. This is where you are only tied in for 3 months as opposed to the ?Full? 12 month tie in. Extras given include £15 to spend in their restaurants, 10% discounts in the bars and coffee shop and 2 free vouchers for friends/family. The vouchers entitle the user to a free week in the gym, pool etc worth £70. If you recommend someone and they join you also get £50 of a nights stay in the hotel. Relax And Take In The Scenery At The Village

Advantages: Lovely scenery, comfortable beds, nice leisure facilities
Disadvantages: Pool not very family friendly with children only allowed certain times

...'t like was that we asked one of the workers what time we had to get out because of our daughter and he said 2 0 clock. Then at 12 0 clock we were told that we had to get out because children swimming times were over. We were not very happy because it felt like we were being thrown out. I think they had too many adult swim times and could have changed this to once a day. The Health & Fitness Club has all the facilities needed to relax and unwind, including 25m heated indoor pool, Sauna, Steam room, Whirlpool spa, Jacuzzi and Sun showers There is also a fully equipped gym, Toning tables, squash courts and Spinning Studio. Greens Health & Fitness Club

Advantages: Fairly cheap membership fee, decent enough facilities
Disadvantages: A lot of niggling problems

...I have been a member at Greens Health & Fitness club in Stoke for around about three years now, as it is convenient for me to use and close enough to work to use at lunchtime. I was previously a member at Total Fitness Gym but left as the membership fees were getting too high. Greens has a good gym, with decent quality cardio machines (we have treadmills, exercise bikes, cross trainers, rowing machines, step machines and what we call 'wave' machines which give a similar motion to skiing), a weight room, two rooms for organised classes and a room with spinning bikes. There is a 25 metre pool with three jacuzzi's, a sauna and steam room, as well as an infra red sauna cabin, loungers and showers around the pool area. BEST HOTEL LEISURE CLUB IN AREA

Advantages: Brilliant unbeatable leisure club, clean and at reasonable cost
Disadvantages: Hotel food average, Chistmas parties a disappointing rip off

...I have been a member of the health club for 3 years now, and my review will be primarily about this. The hotel was built just over 3 years ago and is part of the De Vere Group. The leisure club is in the basement of the hotel...I say basement , it is actually on the ground floor, but the entrance to the hotel which you have to go through is on the level above, so you have to go up steps/ramp from the very large roomy carpark and them back down again. It did originally have a cafe copra, but this was shut and replaced by a second exercise studio, the ggod news is as of august 2008 they have opened a Starbucks which members get 20% discount at.The cost of membership is obviously different dependant on peak and off peak , there is not a family discount but you can attach children to membership for £10 a month, (7.50 at the Dudley branch...

...Last week I came across one of those special offers in HMV (4 DVds for £20). It was end of the season sale and I picked up a film called "The Village" just to make up the numbers. It struck me as being some sort of clichéd horror film from the blurb on the cover and I didn't expect to be watching it in the very near future. But it was one of those DVDs that keep popping up every time I looked through my shelf of dozens of other unwatched movies. Getting fit the Village Way

Advantages: Nice hotel (from what I have seen), excellent leisure facilities
Disadvantages: Standards have slipped slightly recently

...Before you start reading this review I should make it clear that this review is predominately about the leisure club (of which I am a member). Living 10 minutes away from the hotel as I do I have never really felt the urge to stay there! I will try as far as possible though to give my thoughts on the bits of the hotel I have seen. Hotel location The hotel is situated in the Cobalt Business Park, which is just off the A19 meaning it is easy to get to from either the A1 coming from the south (leaving the A1 before the Tyne tunnel) or from the A1 coming from the North, leaving at the Cramlington turn off. The location of the hotel, in a business park means that a lot of the guests during the week are people travelling on business to the various companies in Cobalt and the surrounding areas. Rosemary Conley Diet & Fitness Clubs - amazing!

Advantages: Everything - fab weight loss, made friends and had fun
Disadvantages: NONE! (can't beleive im writing none!)

...What a fantastic club! I have tried other weight loss clubs and none have been nearly as effective. My class cost £6 a week - although if you join premier club, you get loads of benefits, don't have to pay as you go and its cheaper. The instructors are lovely - and all training by the guru Rosemary Conley herself - you can't get much better than this. Value for money is great - you get weigh in, personal advice, a 10min motivational talk AND A 45 MINUTE EXERCISE session - all for the same price as other slimming clubs! The exercise is very good - it is structured and everyone can do it - every level is catered for. I've made loads of good friends and really think that i will keep going even when i hit my goal weight just to keep it all going! Will recommend to everyone and anyone!...

...reception lovely lighting there, but the prices are stupid, I guess I shouldn't expect them to be low seen as no bars are cheap in hotels. A pint was like £3.50 or something, When at home I could get it a pound cheaper, I know you probably think I'm been a cheap skate but let's say I have four pints (the average a lightweight woman would be able to handle like myself haha) it would cost £14 I could have a few more drinks at home for that!
