...what to make of it but I was hoping it was going to be good. The product was originally selling for £50, which immediately told me it was a really good product, and for the brilliant price of £12.49, I decided it was worth a go as that was all I paid for my last rubbish iron from Argos. This particular iron is the VIN068 model.
Now, an iron is an iron really. They all have a hotplate which helps to press out any creases in your clothes, but its the other gadgets which really get us all interested. What caught my eye about this iron was the fact it was colour changing and had a digital display, neither of which I have had or particularly wished for in an iron before. The iron is aesthetically okay, with a white plastic frame and opaque middle section. It doesn't look anything special when it's switched off, in fact its pretty ordinary but...

Review of Breville VIN068
Advantages: great action Disadvantages: none in my view
...I must say I was looking forward to this film as I am a big fan of Vin Diesel and the story to this film had elements from James Bond and The Fast and the Furious so when it came out in the cinemas last year I had to go and see it even with the bad reviews the press had given it, and me being a fan of this type of film I loved it.
Director: Rob Cohen (The fast and the Furious, The Skulls)
Cast:
Vin Diesel (The Fast and the furious, A man apart, Pitch Black)
Samuel L Jackson (S.W.A.T., Shaft, Jackie Brown, Deep blue Sea)
Asia Argento (zoo, XXX2)
Cert: 12

The story:

Review of XXX (DVD)
Advantages: Comfortable and clean Disadvantages: Had to get wet to get to the room
...Back in January I fancied having a few days away on my own and decided to go to York as it was far enough away to feel like a mini holiday, and I had never been before.
The Hotel du Vin York is a new addition to the group, opening its doors in Autumn 2007 and has 44 bedrooms. I caught the train to York and the hotel was only a short walk from the station. It is situated just a short way from the race course so I am sure it is popular when the races are on.
On first impressions the building from the outside was really nice with a large driveway and massive entrance door. But inside it wasn?t clear which way the reception desk was and when I found it, it wasn?t that accessible. The desk was situated behind three large pillars which didn?t leave much room between the desk and the pillars and it was a good job I didn?t have any large...
Advantages: Great location, even greater wine cellar Disadvantages: Breakfast was not quite to the standard I was expecting.
...Hotel du Vin are an exclusive brand of boutique style restaurants beginning with their first Hotel in Winchester back in 1994 this popular brand have spread across the UK at a rate of knots. With Hotels in Harrogate, Henley On Thames, Birmingham, Brighton, Bristol, Glasgow, and Tunbridge Wells. The next 12 months are going to be one of the most exciting in HdV?s history with Hotels opening in Cheltenham, Cambridge, York, Poole and Newcastle.
HdV offer the hotel guest an exclusive experience far different from any other hotel chain in the UK with the exception of course of Malmaison its sister company. Each hotel offers individual qualities or facilities but all contain certain specific requirements in order to make them part of the HdV ethos.
HdV Harrogate appears to be one of the more written about hotels in the chain, but I guess...
Advantages: Fun action packed. Disadvantages: Hard to follow plot.
...A game of a film starring Vin Diesel which was never actually made. As it happens the bald, Muscly one is such a massive gamer that he owns a game company and astonishingly, given that games of films are usually awful, this is different.
In truth, it's probably just as well the Wheelman film wasn't made if the game is anything to go by, as its dialogue is dreadful and its plot hard to follow. But you can forgive such failings in a game as long as it provides intense action and has some good ideas, and Wheelman delivers on both counts.
Plus, it looks superb, and is set in an impressively realistic Barcelona. You play Vin Diesel playing Milo Burik, getaway driver, who secretly works for some Government agency and is on a mission to infiltrate Barcelona's criminal gangs. Since he's Vin, they all trust him, and it's not long before you...
...; this film has a definite target audience and sticks to it like glue.
The film features a fair number of stunts, mostly performed in cars, but despite the hype, I thought these were very disappointing. Some of the high-speed sequences obviously relied on speeded up film – haven’t they come up with a way to avoid that yet? – and the rest were all rather mediocre. The climactic sequence involving three cars and a truck is quite good, but only because you want someone to get blasted with a shotgun.
The cast is relatively small – let’s face it, the cars are the stars in this film. Dominic Toretto is played by up and coming action actor Vin Diesel. Vin is relatively convincing in the role, though he seems to strain with some of the dialogue and I get the distinct impression that he was better placed running...
Advantages: Great plot. Great acting. Full on entertainment. Disadvantages: Some scenes are very dark. Poor extras.
...I am going to start this opinion on A Man Apart by saying how and why I bought it.
I had seen the advert for this movie in various magazines and on billboard posters, but knew nothing about it. Strangely none of the magazines had anything about it! Could this be a ?turkey? of a film? (As it?s nearly Christmas thought I would use that!!)
I don?t normally talk about the cover, but this does give an insight into the film and is actually one of the factors that made me buy this DVD.
THE COVER:
The cover shows Vin Diesel walking down a street, shot gun in one hand and his badge (cop) in the other. The background is a yellow/sunrise sort of colour, with faint images of two sinister looking men, a police car, and another car in flames. Really this says it all! Cop film ? guns ? shooting ? action ? bad guys ? cars on fire...

Review of A Man Apart (DVD)
Advantages: Vin Diesel. The very impressive action and stunts. Disadvantages: The story is nothing new. The villain is very poor.
...xXx is James Bond for the MTV generation. Wait a sec; I thought James Bond was for the MTV generation!
Directed by - Rob Cohen
Starring - Vin Diesel, Asia Argento, Marton Csokas, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Roof, Werner Dahn, Petr Jakl, Jan Pavel Filipensky, Eve
Length - 123 minutes
Cert - 12A
You must have seen the trailers or TV adverts by now, where that trailer voiceover guy (who desperately needs some Lockets) says in that deep and moody voice "VIN DIESEL IS TRIPLE X". And no, his character is not a walking porno (whatever that is) but Xander Cage, an extreme sports and stunts fanatic who loves to do stupid things. And for his first stunt he will drive a stolen Corvette off a 700ft bridge and parachute to safety. This stunt is shown at so many different angles that I begin to think, 'shouldn't the car have hit the floor...

...No it isnt a porno film! Its the new film by the director and producer of The Fast and The Furious.
It stars Vin diesel;) (you can tell i adore him) and Samuel L. Jackson.
Vin stars as a former xtreme sports athelete Xander "xXx" Cage, notorious for his death defying public stunts. Betting he can succeed where other conventional spies have failed.
Xander is recruited by the NSA Agent Gibbons
(Samuel L. Jackson). To become a different kind of undercover secret agent.
Enlisted for a dangerous convert mission, he must use all his extreme skills to combat.
A clever, organised, ruthless enemy far beyond the scope of his experience.
Russian terrorists who have made some giant poisonus machine that lets of gas a bit like the gas chambers in Berlin used by Adolf Hitler to exteriminate the Jews.

Review of XXX (DVD)
Advantages: Good value, not as dry as it sounds Disadvantages: Quite sour for some tastes
...Booze, booze, booze, dontcha just love it?! No? Well, I do, as a lot of you are probably aware by now ? and white wine is a firm favourite.
So no surprise then that this is another opinion on another white wine ? Sainsburys? Vin Blanc de France to be precise ? sounds sophisticated doesn?t it? No? Well to be fair most of these supermarket own brands of which I am so fond neither look nor sound sophisticated but once in a glass with no identifying marks they usually pass the test!
As per usual I bought this one in a 3 litre box ? good value and no waste and no glass used ? for £10.49, about 50p off the normal price I think. The box is pretty basic and unglamorous ? just white and green with the facts stated on it but I?m not paying for the box anyway so who cares?! The advantages of buying a wine in a box being that it can remain...
