Vintage VRS100 - Blue

Advantages: The Wilkinson hardware. The playability. Good value.
Disadvantages: The blue finish hides the flamed maple veneer. Tone+Volume knobs. Serial number format.

...Vintage VRS100 Well first off I paid £150 for this. Ex-demo, so not new, not second hand, think in-between the two. This is a PRS copy and Vintage have pretty much nailed the body shape! It's a Double-cut. Vintage says the VRS means "Vintage Rock Series". The finish I chose for this guitar was the "through blue". A very dark blue finish on the front with a lighter greeny-blue on the back and neck. This finish is semi transparent (you can see the wood). Through blue is now a discontinued colour. For the body 3 pieces of Eastern poplar have been used. A bookmatched flamed maple veneer is glued on top. The top of the guitar is carved while the back is contoured for comfort. The neck is nice and chunky set neck and is made up of 2 pieces of maple with a 1 piece rosewood fingerboard. Upon the fretboard are 24 medium frets...

Vintage V100 - love it!

Advantages: Sounds excellent, good value for money and looks really good
Disadvantages: May be slightly misleading, It doesn't sound exactly like a gibson!

...Around christmas time I decided it was time for a new guitar. So that's what I got. My mum and I spent a lot of time on the internet researching different guitars to fond the sort of thing I wanted, which at the time was a slightly downsized acoustic guitar. However, closer to the time I came to the conclusion that I already had an acoustic guitar and what I'd really like was an electric one. Vintage Jazz Volume 4

Advantages: Some really good tracks
Disadvantages: Some are "so-so"

...Vintage Jazz Volume 4 is another of my all-time favourite jazz CDs, as it does exactly what it sys on the label, it IE.. it contain some really fine examples of some of the best classic jazz. Coleman Hawkins as his All Star Jam Band, featuring every example of the best jazz instruments, guitar, drums, clarinet, all performing together as one on Honeysuckle Rose. And please note the use of the word "jam" in the name of the band. As they say, there really is nothing new under the sun! The next track is also by Coleman Hawkins and His All Star Jam Band, but is a totally different style of jazz as they give a rip-roaring, jumping version of Sweet Georgia Brown. Yeah, vintage like a 2003 chardonnay

Advantages: It's cheesy
Disadvantages: Not strong enough!

...Ew ew ew ew ew. Okay, so it's cheese. It's cheddar cheese. Fine, I'll accept that. That's what it says on the label, after all. But strong it ain't. I love a really good cheddar cheese and it's unfortunate that it's so tough to actually buy one. All these cheese companies keep coming out with "vintage" and "super strong" brands, but they're mostly a huge steaming pile of curds and whey. Our cheese selection in this country pretty much sucks. The cheese we import from the continent is generally inferior and we export all our good stuff. It's a sad fact, but the best stilton I have ever had was in Europe - and it was made in England! The manufacturers and importers don't seem to have grasped the fact that the British palatte is maturing rapidly - unlike the cheese they fob us off with! Gaaaaaaaah! Ahem, back to the point...

Disadvantages: We had rude staff

...back to stop one. **OVERALL** I wasn't overly impressed with this company. A tram seen my partner and I, as well as another couple waiting and he never stopped to let us on. There was definitely enough space for us on the tram, he was just being rude. Instead we had to wait an extra 10-15 minutes to get on the next tram. I didn't feel that the tour was very personal. You were given history and information on Christchurch but there was no-one to ask questions or give you further information if you wanted. Inside the tram was nice and vintage, Each tram varied in standard and I suppose how polite or nice the driver varied as well. It only costs $12.50 for an adult which doesn't cost much but you could have walked most of the circuit yourself. The actual time you were on the tram wasn't very long.
