...This is another low cost airline which I have used on a number of times and I have found reasonable in cost. The website is very easy to use and informative to the costings of the various add-ons. The staff are very friendly when you get to the airport and always want to please. Recently when my daughter flew to Malaga she found that her luggage was missing so when she spoke to a member of Monarch Airlines in Malaga they were straight away on to the problem and everything got sorted in less than 24 hours and they personally delivered her suitcase to where she was staying. When we booked my daughter in it was a little confusing at Gatwick to know which queue to go to apart from that they were very quick at the booking in desk. The staff were very helpfull and even though it was very busy they still were very polite...

...Virgin have gone down in my expectations and i am currently thinking of leaving them. When i first joined virgin media it was called telewest, i signed up to a large tv package and the internet at a cost of 40 pounds per month. This worked fine untill virgin media took over, Although they did bring better and more chanels to the table the prices went up and the customer service went down. When virgin took over they rang me to say i would be better off if i got the whole package which included xl tv, 20gb broadband and a phone line with free weekend calls as it would take my bill down to 35 pound a month, i also pay for disney cinemagic aswell so it would basically be taking 5 pound off my bill which i thought was fair enough. Since then the bill has went up and up and up! I still have the same package to which i had 4 years...

Virgin on the ridiculous!

For example, we ended up with fourteen amended invoices, no insurance (which we had paid for), incorrect accommodation and a week in one of Virgin's hotels where the ceiling fell into the bedroom. Are you a train Virgin?

...It's coming up for the party season again so I have recently spent rather a lot of time making travel arrangements, one method of travel I seem to utilise rather alot these days comes in the shape of the West Coast Mainline, between Manchester/Stockport and London Euston, while in a previous life time I was very familiar with the Manchester/Edinburgh section of this same line, this route is operated by Virgin Trains and has been for several years. Thankfully these days the booking process is somewhat easier than it used to be, having to go in to the train station to book tickets I always found a somewhat draining experience as there was invariably a queue of people apparently wanting to purchase tickets for the next train due and only one counter open, now you can book online at one of several sites, my preference is virgins own, but...

Virgin Media - Getting better...

Advantages: Basic sky channels are back!, Some good VOD content, good unlimited internet packages
Disadvantages: VOD reliability not 100%, webmail reliability & mailbox size, customer service rather 'hit or miss'

...** Important News/Update (Edit) 16/11/08:- Ok so on Thursday the basic Sky channels finally returned to Virgin Media, at least for those of us who are on the higher TV packages (their included in the L and XL packages, which are the two most expensive packages, I believe), which was good news for me! now I can access Sky1, Sky2 and Sky3 (Sky3 is also available on Freeview), as well as Sky News and Sky Sports News and for people on the XL package, we also get Sky Arts and Sky Arts2 as well as Sky Real Lives, which is nice, so obviously im quite relieved and impressed with that. I've also been trawling through the VOD content recently, I now feel more tempted to watch cable alot more than I have done over the last year or so knowing i can catch Bones and 24 Redemption and I can catch Fringe, a new show showing on Sky1 and its being...

Virgin to Virgin Trains

Advantages: more efficient, clean and cost effective

...the London Underground, which I was actually dreading however battled my way and enjoyed every minute of it. My Virgin train experience only covered half of my journey from Stoke on Trent station to London Euston. Not even knowing how long it would take on the train I was extremely amazed when I found out when I booked my tickets that it was a mere 1 hour and 35 minutes to actually get into London. My train arrived on time at Stoke and on I got. At the time of day I was travelling, I hadn't reserved a seat but there were plenty available for me take advantage of. The train itself was very clean and on regular occasions people were coming around to take away any rubbish that people may have, which I thought was very efficient instead of leaving it when the train had done its dead for the day for some poor person to have to tidy it all up...

Malaysia Airlines, sets the benchmark for other airlines!

Advantages: Very hospitable, great customer service, no delays, no fuss, very welcoming
Disadvantages: You won't want to leave the plane!!

Firstly, if you're flying too and from Kuala Lumpur on a regular basis, join the Enrich frequent flyer reward programme. You will soon amass points that can then used for upgrades to business class when you want a real treat. Malaysian custom is to be very polite and hospitable and its no different with Malaysia Airlines (MAS). Whether its terminal three at Heathrow or check in at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, you get a warm greeting and all the assistance you require. In my experience, nothing ever seems too much trouble for either the MAS ground or flight crews. NEVER GIVE A VIRGIN AN EVEN BREAK

Advantages: Broadband better than any ADSL.
Disadvantages: Watch their prices, and don't ignore special offers just because you are already a customer

...I didn't so much opt for Virginmedia cable broadband; it was more like having someone approach you in the children's home and announcing "these are your new mummy and daddy" with no input from you. My original broadband supplier, Telewest joined forces with NTL a while back, and then with the addition of Virgin Mobile became Virginmedia. My current broadband-only package with VM is what they term the XL version, i.e. the fastest, and at 20 megabytes is just about the fastest you'll find. To be fair, when a cable company says you'll get 20 megabytes, there's none of this "up to" malarkey, since distance to the local exchange, always a contentious point with ADSL is limited to the length of cable from my house to the dark green cabinet on my street corner, thus everyone on cable broadband is only a couple of hundred metres from...
