...I often wonder why so many people say they will not travel with anyone other than virgin Atlantic, I simply could not see why people would pay over the odds for a flight to and from the same place. After my visit to Florida flying with Virgin Atlantic I found out why. I had travelled with virgin Atlantic before as a child when I went to Los Angles with my family. I don't remember the experience that well as I was only 10, all I remembered of the flight was being extremely travel sick and the little bag of goodies they give children when they board the flight. When we booked up to go to Florida I had my reservations because my daughter would only be 9 months when we travelled. I feared it would be a nightmare and she wouldn't sit still, there would be nowhere for her to sleep and the whole 10 hour fight would just be disastrous...

I recommend Virgin Atlantic

...I am a UK citizen living in the US. I have flown back and forth to the UK with virgin 6 six times in 4 years. I would not consider any other airline. I usually go straight to their website to book flights as I have never been able to find it cheaper using any other site like cheap tickets or expedia etc. One time when booking flights for my pregnant wife and i we asked for bulkhead seats for extra room. When we arrived at the airport to check in the staff at the check in counter were expecting us and gave us the best seats they could find. During the flight the cabin staff checked on my wife several times to make sure she was comfortable. The entertainment is good with up to date movies and you will never go hungry on a virgin atlantic flight. I would definitely recommend virgin atlantic...

Virgin Atlantic Upper Class.

...Ok, so I have always heard the hype of Virgin Atlantic. Lets face it, they are hard to miss when they are owned by Sir Richard Branson! I was off on holidays to Sydney and decided to treat myself to Upper Class. The day came and I had already arranged the Limo service through Virgin Atlantic. The Limo service I understand is only available on some Upper Class Tickets (i,.e the non discounted ones). The Limo arrived on time, just in time to hit the rush hour traffic in London. My friendly driver told me lots about what my experience over the next 24hours would involve....Spa treatments....excellent Inflight entertainment.....lovely crew.....modern aircraft! Fantastic. We arrived at London Heathrow Terminal three. Well Virgin Atlantics private part of T3. VAA have an area called drive through check in. As the Limo pulls up a lovely...

Choose Virgin Atlantic for a generally chilled out flight

Advantages: nice food and friendly staff
Disadvantages: can be a bit chaotic

...I have only used Virgin Atlantic once, which was at the end of last year. I flew with my young son (only nine months at the time) and my partner. We flew from Gatwick to Orlando International and then back the same way. The check-in as Gatwick was busy when we arrived in the North terminal. Even though the queue was long, we only had to wait for around 15 minutes at the most before we were fully checked in. The staff were friendly and helpful, but not always very happy looking. The flight itself was on time, though the Virgin flight before ours was delayed. As our son was only nine months at the time, we had a bulkhead seat, so that we could have a sky cot. The sky cot is rests on a flip out table that is attached to the bulkhead and is really handy on such a long flight. At first my son wasnt too keen, then decided that he liked...

Virgin Atlantic - twice

Advantages: Good entertainment and food
Disadvantages: Not many destinations especially from Manchester

...I have flown twice with Virgin Atlantic. The first time was from Heathrow to Los Angeles. The food was great and plentiful, and the entertainment was excellent and seats were comfortable. Having a screen in the seat in front of you saves the usual neck craning to see some distant screen and the choice of entertainment was good. The flight was 11 hours long, but it didn't seem like 11 hours. We left Heathrow on time and landed in LA on time, the same on the return journey. The second time I flew with Virgin was from Manchester to Orlando. Again the entertainment was great but the seating was not but food was still excellent. We reserved our seats on line, on the flight out we had the seats we had reserved. However on the way back we had to sit apart, when we expressed our disappointment at this and said we had reserved our seats...

Virgin Atlantic - Manchester

Advantages: The best UK Transatlantic carrier
Disadvantages: no confidence in their Manchester based operations

...Further to my report written in August, I have today been informed by my Travel Agent that they have in their posession a letter from Virgin Atlantic saying that from September 5th this year ( tomorrow) they will be operating their own Aircraft on the Manchester Orlando route, dispensing with the Air Atlanta aircraft, which has been operating a sub-charter service on Virgins behalf.. I have to say that I remain sceptical, but am flying on the 7th so we will have to wait and see, I will report further on my return to the UK.. I still believe that Virgin have ruined the build up to the holiday, the anticipation and excitement isn't there, and for several weeks we have not been looking forward to the flight, seriously considering cancelling or swopping to British Airways..( not that we would but we did give it a lot of thought...

Virgin Atlantic

Advantages: Loads to do, nintendo, films etc.
Disadvantages: Costs quite a lot.

...I really enjoyed flying with Virgin first time as they seem to give you every thing you need, and this was in economy. You could tell that they really tried hard to make every single passenger comfortable. Sitting in economy you get loads of leg room, nicer meals than normal airlines provide and you never seem to be bored. If you want a drink then you can order one whenever you like and a kids meal is available aswell. You can go to sleep if you really want to because the chairs are so comfortable but there is just so much to do. Instead of one big T.V for everyone to look at there is a T.V per person that is right in front of you. Virgin show on the T.V very good films instead of the usual rubbishy ones and some T.V shows too. Not only do you get the good films but kids will never be bored with a nintendo system and a number...

My virgin voyage on Virgin Atlantic

Advantages: Easy check in, amazing amounts of food inflight!

...On the 12th of march 2003 i was flying to Boston with Virgin atlantic. This was my first transatlantic trip and it was for a damn good reason, i was seeing my favourite band, CKY. Now, i'm not too keen on flying and the current political situation in the world didn't help to put my mind at ease in the slightest (in fact Gulf war - strike II started the day after a got back!) Despite my nerves i was really excited when i got to Heathrow airport. The virgin atlantic check-in desks were easy to find, everything is bright red so it's pretty hard to miss! We arrived at the airport at around 9:30am for our 14:30 flight, slightly early but after reading the opinions of others it seemed wise to leave a good few hours before the queues started. Check-in was so easy, there were a few people in front of us,but plenty of brightly painted...

Fly Virgin Atlantic, its just fantastic!!

Advantages: Entertainment system, eye candy, impressive service
Disadvantages: expensive, lack of friendliness, tries a bit too hard to be 'cool'

..., I try and find an airline which will try and promote a sense of exclusivity about the whole thing. I gave up on BA after my return from Australia due to their horrendous service and snooty flight attendants, I liked United until 9/11 meant that I am too cowardly to fly them again. I hadn't tried Virgin before, even though a stunning girl I used to live near was a Virgin flight attendant, and once, whilst visiting a friend near Gatwick I drunkenly kissed a girl who claimed to do the same job! So the attractiveness of their flight attendants was never in doubt, and the general image of the company is one of an airline for young, attractive, trendy types who think nothing of jetting over to New York for a shopping trip or Miami for a holiday. The sort of person I would like to think I am, or would like to be, so Virgin's marketing campaign...

...I've just recently returned from my very first trip across the Atlantic with Virgin Atlantic. I travelled to Las Vegas with Virgin from London Gatwick on a very busy Monday morning flight and retruned on a Friday night flight which was equally as busy. I have flown many an Airline in my time but never with Virgin, so I was almost itching to get on the plane and try out the seatback entertainment, alas first one has to check in! At London Gatwick, Virgin have a very large dedicated check in, like some other airlines, passengers can check in for any flight, at any desk, meaning if you arrive fairly early you don't have to wait around for your check in desk to open before getting shot of your suitcases. Check in is very well organised, a queuing system operates with a 'call forward' system, by the time you have reached your check...
