Cooking with Vodka .......

...Well as it may have been observed I like fish and the oceans, and alcohol in particular Vodka. What is less known is that I cant be bothered to cook most of the time, its not that I cant, it's more a case of I've never tried. So it is unusual that I would not only express and interest in a cook book, much less be happy when someone buys me one. In this case I had some incentive to buying this, in short that it is how to cook with vodka. The book is divided in to sections with several recipies in each, ranging from simple and easier to prepare things to more complex ones. I will describe some of the things I have tried to cook (and how successful my attempts were below. Smirnoff Vodka :)

Advantages: Trusted, reputable brand.
Disadvantages: The cheaper versions, are pretty much the same when your mixing :)

...Vodka isn't my favourite drink, I'm more of a wine person myself, but, when I do drink vodka I don't really see the difference between Smirnoff vodka and the cheap stuff from asda... now maybe if you are a big vodka fan you could taste the difference. The only thing I find is that cheap vodka gets your alot drunker alot quicker...!! Which is a good thing!! Haha. The vodka tastes like vodka, smells like vodka, and looks like vodka...if your drinking it with orange juice or cola or something with a taste then why spend double the price when the taste is been masked by juice anyway??? Yes if your a straight vodka drinker, or drink it with tonic...I could see that this would be better and taste nicer. But, I do recommend getting yourself a £7 bottle rather than £17 bottle of Smirnoff and just see if you taste a difference...

Raspberry vodka (GENIUS)!!!

Advantages: Tastes awesome and no hangover

The World's best tasting vodka

Advantages: Tastes great and can be enjoyed in a variety of drinks
Disadvantages: A little more expensive than most and hard to come by in the shops

...I think I would go as far as to say I have not quite found another vodka quite like this one. With it's exceptional attention grabbing packaging and it's delicious taste, I've found myself, in my opinion, a hard to beat spirit. I'm not much of a spirit drinker but I do like to have a cheeky vodka every now and then, especially during the festive season., and have to say that this knocks the socks off of other brands I have tried. Vodka in a shake

Advantages: Lovely taste. Comes in different flavours.

...I was in the pub last Wednesday, and I tried a drink which I had never tried before. The drink I'm talking about is Vodka Mudshake. As I was a first time buyer, and liked what I saw, thought I would treat myself. I can't remember the exact price I paid, but I know it was nearly the £2 I paid for a 270 ml bottle of this drink. I was taken aback for a second as I didn't think they were so dear. Oh well, it's too late now. The bottle had been opened, and all I could do now was sit back and drink it. The bottles are clear see though glass bottles so you can see the contents. It's a screw on top, which is handy if you don't want to finish it all then. You can save some for later. Vodka - how do you drink yours?

Advantages: Strong and good quality product

...Vodka is definately my drink. Its strong for when you are playing the catch up game and mixes well to make good cocktails. STRICTLY OVER 18 ONLY (Smirnoff Vodka)

Advantages: Reasonably clean taste for the price.
Disadvantages: Gives you a mouth like a dusty flip flop.

...Smirnoff Triple Distilled Vodka has to be the route of all evil (along with money). It makes you do things you wish you hadn't and gives you a mouth like dusty flip flop the next day. So why is it such a big seller? The bottle I have is just a small , 20cl, as we are not huge vodka drinkers and comes in a clear glass bottle with a red top. The bottle cost me £5.45 from my local Spar. There is a red label on the front and back of the bottle. The front label has the Smirnoff branding and states that the vodka is triple distilled for purity. The strength of the vodka is a mere 37.5% vol. The label on the back gives a large "drink responsibly" warning, nutritional information per 25ml serving (52 calories, 0g protein, trace carbohydrate, 0g fat) which gives no big surprises, a note saying that the bottle contains 7.5 UK units and contact...
