2006 VW POLO 1.4 Trendline with style packet

Advantages: Good allrounder, good handling, well built
Disadvantages: lack of equipment (unless paid for), low ground clearance

...small. We have a little baby and his pram won't fit into the boot unless the back seats folded down first. Once the pram is in, back seats can be returned to their original position. Fuel economy is as expected. No diffrent than the rivals. But the offical figures are a little bit on the conservative side. You will surely do burn more than stated in the owners manual. This is my fourth VW and I will probably continue using them for the forseable future. Previous ones included a Polo mk2, Golf mk2 and a 1967 Beetle. I ahe also driven a Passat TDi for work for a few years. If a VW designer is reading this: "In my view VW needs to put more extras in the cars, such as mp3 player, safety features, electric windows for the back as standart. They will make the good cars even more desirable must buys."...

Is the VW Polo all it is cracked up to be?

Advantages: A Hidden Character
Disadvantages: Hidden Costs

...days are all similar in build quality as they all comprise of similar safety features and are all partner companies to one another. Looks I believe the polo has average looks, which are simple and srong. It doesnt look aggressive but neither does it look like a girly car much like a micra or yaris! On the interior it is again simple and lacks inspiration but maybe that isnt soo important if it doesnt actually matter if it doesnt effect the driving. Summary The VW polo is proabably one of the best cars in its class, when it comes to overall performance, looks, safety and quality. However i do believe its cost and cost effectiveness need improving as does its look as the new models are becoming a bit "wishy washy" (pardon the phrase!). I love my car but feel alot more could be done to make it stand out against its competitors. It is...

OOOOOOH WHAT A POLO...........

Advantages: Very good quality
Disadvantages: Costly

...Before I start my opinion on the Volkswagen Polo, I would like just to let you know that I don’t actually own this car, but am very near to purchasing one. I have trawled through internet sites, opinions, magazines and company reps to gain the knowledge that I have; I hope it helps anyone interested in the Volkswagen Polo! The following in formation is based on the model that I am considering purchasing which is; A NEW (New number-plate) Polo 1.4 Match LOOKS The Volkswagen Polo is one of the better looking small car around; and by far the most grown-up and mature looking. It’s new front lights recently introduced both make the car look a little meaner, but overall make the car look far better than any other Polo before it. Alloy wheels and a rear wing available on any of the models, if you are willing to pay...

VW MK5 Polo GTI 2000 - 2001

Advantages: Small, nice to drive, nippy
Disadvantages: expensive to buy, hard to find, poor gearboxes

...I fist purchased my MK5 VW Polo GTI back in january of last year and i have become so impressed with the car i decided to write this review. I'll start off with a quick over view of the car.Statistics report that only 3,000 were made. I have not seen this officially reported by VW however. It is reported that 1000 of three colours were made. Red, Black and silver. 500 five door and 500 three door of each colour. So you tend not to see too many around and a lot of people confuse it with the golf GTI The MK5 ' can also be known as a 6N2,It was only made from 2000 until 2001. Now for a quick guide to the specification: Xenon Discharge Headlights with automated washer jets Red Stitched GTi Steering Wheel GTi Gearknob GTi "1" Seats 15mm Lowered Suspension 6CD Changer in the boot Heated Rear Window/Heater Electric...

VW Polo Going green

Advantages: Fantastic fuel economy, low CO2 emmissions.
Disadvantages: No spare wheel, awkward to adjust front seats.

...I've now had my VW Polo Bluemotion 2 5 door for 4 months, have done over 5,000 miles in it and I'm loving it. The Bluemotion is VW's eco-friendly range, the Polo was the first of their range to be introduced, but the other main vehicles in the range will/have followed. It is a company car and I had a choice from a limited range of vehicles. I chose this one as it was the most economically one for my circumstances. VW claim it will do a combined 70.6mpg and 88.1mpg Extra Urban. I drive it mainly on the motorway and regularly get 83mpg out of it, and around 550-600 miles on a tank, which is costing me around the £40 to fill up from empty. Equipment All Polo BlueMotion models are fitted ? as standard ? with anti-lock braking, front and side airbags, power steering, electric front and rear windows, electrically...

Fun and funky Polo 1.4

Advantages: Great fun to drive, nippy and reliable
Disadvantages: Strange pedals!

...The Polo 1.4 was the first car that I ever bought myself so will always be quite special in a weird kind of way! I traded in my old battered Fiesta that my mum and dad had bought me and purchased a VW 1.4 Polo Match special edition for around £10000. The car came with quite a few extras for the money including manual air conditioning and an electric sunroof (very nifty gadget on such a small car!) I am not too sure why the car had both a sunroof and air conditioning though as you only really needed one or the other! It also came with metallic paint and I chose the Silver colour which was great as it hardly shows up any dirt at all and comes up very nicely when it's polished. I owned the 3 door version and you did have to be careful with the front doors as they are very big and heavy and can sometimes blow away in heavy wind...

VW Polo 1.2 S 2003

Advantages: Nippy, Stylish, Low fuel costs
Disadvantages: Labour in fitting new headlight

...I have had my 2003 (03) Polo for almost 3 years now travelling a total 34,000 miles in that time. This car is great for running about in, I travel to work and back 6 times a week (25 mile round trip) and pop to the local gym a couple of times (20 mile round trip) so the miles do add up, I live in the country. On a full tank I can run this route for about 2 weeks without re-filling, now I am no wizekid on mpg but for me its very good on fuel consumption. Long distance trips are no problem either I actually find the fuel consumption even better. I was astonished to find that I could fit some picket fencing in the little car the other day so it is versitile too. As I have mentioned I do live in the country so I have encountered many potholes, muddy lay-by's but nothing serious to report. The only I must say is do NOT hit...

Volkswagen VW Polo Mk5 6n2 1.0E (00-02)

Advantages: Build quality, styling, interior space, reliability.
Disadvantages: Price

...I wrote a review about this vehicle on this very website in 2004. Now I'm a bit older with a fair bit more vehicle experience I thought I would re write the article. As with any VW you pretty much know what you're going to get. They are solid, reliable, well built, comfortable and generally expensive compared to similar vehicles in the same class. However they also have low depreciation so any likely initial expendature will be made back when you sell the vehicle. I will focus this review on the 1.0E in this range however, you also have availible the S and the SE models which encorporate various extras such as Elec windows/air con etc. If you were interested in purchasing this polo I would highly reccomend buying an S or an SE version as the very limited spec on the E can become tiresome after a while. Looks: As with anything, this...

VW Polo Diesel - A great car

Advantages: Easy to drive, economical
Disadvantages: drab interior

...We have had a VW Polo diesel for over 4 years now and can honestly say its been a great car, never let us down and still feels as new now even with almost 65000 miles on the clock. We had it originally in Germany and it was thrashed 100 miles a day up and down the autobahn at around 100 mph and yet still returned an average fuel consumption of 35-40 mpg. When we brought it back to the UK and consequently rarely exceeded 80mph the consumption leapt to 45-50 mpg. We've had it serviced by VW throughout and although the dealers have varied enormously in quality it hasn't mattered that much because there has never been much work to do. When we bought the car we didn't even get a test drive and it was very much on the VW name. Inside the trim is practical rather than flash, the seats hardly look worn and the thick rubber mats have...

VW Polo 1.4tdi 06 plate

Advantages: Reliable, stylish, economical
Disadvantages: none

...I have a VW Polo 1.4tdi 06 plate Its the best car I've had, economical, practical, stylish and nippy. The boot is not huge but can fit one large suitcase and two small at a squeeze so adequate for my family of four. A full tank of deisel ( around £40) will last me two to three weeks with the everyday school and work run and weekend local roaming around. We took it to Glasgow - around 360 miles from home with a full tank on leaving, it had just under 1/4 of a tank when we got there. When pulling away it drives more like a 1.6. and will sit very comfortably at 70mph on the motorway. It feels safe and comfortable to drive, and has excellent build quality ( so my husband says lol ). We've had no mechanical problems so far. It has cheap Tax and insurance. Servicing costs £45 to change the oil for its first service...
