The Volvo S60 Diesel SE

...I Took delivery of this car on the 13th Dec 2002. The car was spotless. It is a black S60 model SE. I work as a senior ambulance officer. The car was then taken to our Ambulance Workshops. It was then fitted with Blue Lights behind the Grill Alternating Headlights that flash, rear blue and red strobes on the rear shelf and a magnetic blue lamp for the roof. It was also fitted with a hands free VHF radio and a VDO Dayton Sat Nav system. The reason for the fititng of the sat nav was that the volvo option was £3000 and the VDO was £1200. This was quite a saving so it was decided that it would be better . Finally the car was fitted with a 100 watt siren . The switched were fitted neatly below the heating controls. Volvo S50 D5 SE

Advantages: Nice Design, Great Comfort, Reliable, Economical
Disadvantages: High Insurance Group

...This is the 2.4 Litre, 5 Cylinder (Diesel) Volvo S60 My Dad owns this car but i borrowed it for a few days when i needed a car to drive around in. I only took out a temporary insurance deal with norwich union which, for 2 weeks, cost me £71.40 which is expensive, but i only needed it for 2 weeks and i wasnt going to pay £4k for a years cover (just because im 18) The boot space is good and is plenty for shopping, or luggage, although if you carry equipment around which is bulky, you may have a problem, because being a saloon, the boot opening is fairly small. Although the engine has 163 Bhp which dosent sound a lot for a car this size when you see cars like my mates Renault Clio having 197 Bhp, but the car squeezes every last drop of power and the clio is no match on acceleration or top speed.   A GREAT CAR FOR ALL SEASONS AND TASTES.

Advantages: Superb Engine. Great Looks. Sybaritic Scandanavian Interior.
Disadvantages: High List Price. Depreciation. Small Boot Opening.

Advantages: Subtle, classic, functional, comfortable

XC90 T6 Exec. MPV = More Please, Volvo!

Advantages: Most stylish 4X4, hugely roomy, very comfortable, good value for money
Disadvantages: Expensive second hand, needs bigger engine, may not fit your garage

Volvo 440 1.7 automatic

Advantages: Performs well, very reliable, comfortable, practical, roomy
Disadvantages: Not as well built as some Volvos

...Nearly 7 years ago I bought a nice Volvo 440 1.7 automatic from a fireman who was selling it for something bigger to accommodate his ever growing family. I saw the car for sale in the local press and went to have a look at it. I was very pleased with the car, it had a lot of creature comforts you would expect (central locking, electric front windows, electric sunroof, power assisted steering and a height adjustable front seet - which is very important if, like me, you have short legs !). Driving the car was a pleasure - very comfortable, and although the car is quite low to the ground this was not a problem as you could raise the drivers seat. The car handled very well and because these Volvos are quite light, it was very nippy too. I was also pleased with the insurance costs too. I cannot recall the exact figure but I do know...

Lots of Plus's to Diesel Plus!

Advantages: cheap compared to other perfumes
Disadvantages: unable to see how much fragrance you have left as bottle is not see through

...I have an addiction to perfumes. Currently I have around 60 bottles (and about 5 more after Christmas presents). I was bought Diesel Zero Plus Feminine for Christmas last year. The Packaging Diesel Zero Plus Feminine comes with really unique packaging. It kind of has a perspex dome which sits on a base. The base then has two raised plastic sections, which allows the bottle to the wedged in place on the base. When you first open a new bottle, there is a clamp on the spray section at the top to stop the bottle being sprayed accidentally. The bottle itself is a bright red colour, with a silver top. Diesel Zero Plus Feminine is written on the bottle, along with information about the perfume, for example, on my bottle is written eau de toilette 75ml. 1992 Volvo 480 Turbo (1721cc)

Advantages: Quick, fun, cheap
Disadvantages: Some niggles, interior quality

...Having owned my Volvo 480 for a little over a year now, i feel its about time to write a proper review for it. Having been a member of the invaluable online owners club and forum (www.volvo-480-europe.org) for some time before buying i felt infromed as to what to look for and had already walked away from a couple of cheaper / worse condition examples. Hard though it may be to do, its the only way you're going to enjoy your 480, read up before you go and let someone else buy the cursed ones! I bought mine for £671 from a forum member through an ebay auction, which i still think was a bargin. There are cheaper 480's out there but to get any car with a full years MOT and some tax for that price has to be excellent value. Especially since there is no depreciation to cripple you, you should be able to sell a 480 on without any loss...

Diesel the most friendly grizzly teddy bear

Advantages: Great quality and attention to detail usually only found in very expensive teddy bear brands
Disadvantages: Not suitable for children under three, but really a bear for grown ups!

...Diesel has got to be the most popular Charlie Bear right now and it's easy to see why. No one can resist his soft fur - it's white on the ends and brown at the base so when you stroke him you can see the different colours. He's got the look of a real grizzly bear, not-so-much a cartooney teddy bear, and has really expressive eyes that seem to look right at you! I don't think that Diesel is a bear for children - he's not suitable for under-threes and is a little too big for a child to hold comfortably. Diesel is still my favourite Charlie Bear even though there are so many to choose from. They've all got their own personalities and are so nicely made, especially considering the price. Everyone I have introduced Diesel to falls in love with him and I've given several Charlie Bears as presents, which are always popular!...

Review of Charlie Bears Diesel

volvo 850

Advantages: Loads of boot space, loads of extras and excellent safety
Disadvantages: Repairs can cost, Relatively low MPG (25mpg)

...Volvo's...square,ugly old peoples cars. Well no. The 850 released in about 1994 was part of the big image change for volvo and was the first step in the V70 evolution. T The basic car an 850SE 20v was better than most of its opponents and was cheap. The 850 is built like a brick but fortunately doesnt look like one as much as the older Volvos. Some may say that it looks like a slab but what do you expect from a big estate car with the legendary huge volvo boot?. The 850 carries Volvo's reputation for being tremendously safe cars, and now with airbags in the front and between the 3inch thick doors and comfy seats, this is no exeption. The base model does about 125mph at a respectable 10.4secs or if you buy the T5 or R version, you will be burning off those sportscars, as they reach 60 in under 7 seconds. The interior is not bad...
