...The VP-D351 is a basic no-frills camcorder of lightweight construction, read 'plasticy' In it's favour it uses inexpensive mini-DV tapes, which I consider to be preferable to DVD media, but connectivity is limited to Firewire (not all computers support this) and it doesn't come with a remote a remote control. (I tried one from another model and found it doesn't 'see' it) I have owned a couple of other Samsung camcorders in the past - both bought off ebay as 'spares or repair (note to self - they don't seem especially robust) I was, however, able to get them working after an hour or so effort without buying spares. Having been reasonably assured by this I bought my latest Samsung camcorder in a similar state - but discovered that the ribbon cable for the display was broken. SAMSUNG CAMCORDER RUBBISH DO NOT BUY VP-DC161

Disadvantages: Spent £350 for only 1 hour of footage

...Completely useless and Samsung far less than helpful when things Go wrong as were PC world not interested in either replacing or repairing mine even though I was told it had a two year guaruntee! The camera lasted for one and a half hours of recording and now does not work at all. Could not even finalise the disc that was in it when it packed up lost valuable footage of baby daughter. Bought another off e-bay if only to finalise the disc but it had the same fault only backlight came on and Nothing else at all! DO NOT BUY SAMSUNG VP-DC161 I have wasted over £350 to date and have now decided to write to the BBC Watchdog program as feel sure hundreds of people have bought this duff product from Samsung and it is high time they owned up to making a dud and provided replacement of refund....

...Wasn't very impressed with this camera, it was definitely less than average in almost all aspects. Look and design Despite being quite light and portable, it is the ugliest thing I have ever laid eyes upon. The Samsung VP MX20 looks like Samsung were trying to make a dildo range, got about half way down the length and decided to turn it into a video camera instead. And then there's the stupid YouTube advert on the side. I can't see why I should have to walk around advertising YouTube when I'm not getting paid for it. Function It definitely didn't excel here either. The image quality is pretty poor and it only has a pathetic little sensor with a meagre 800,000 pixels. It has four quality modes and even the best one only reaches the bottom level of what a half decent video camera can do. It has a 4GB card, good...

Great device when you´re on the move!

...The VP8860 is billed as a multimedia device, though essentially I´d still say it´s mainly a portable hard drive with additional functions. I bought this to replace my old vosonic VP6230 drive, as the battery life was getting poor and it only had an 80GB hard drive. The VP8860 takes up to a 500GB drive, which is what mine is fitted with. Compared to my old drive, the screen is fantastic - 4.3 inches. It´s got a larger range of functions, though I can´t say that I find it very easy to navigate the menus. It weighs around 450g. The drive´s main function is to backup and store files and photos. It has inbuilt card readers - a CF slot and a SD/MMC card slot.
