...I fist purchased my MK5 VW Polo GTI back in january of last year and i have become so impressed with the car i decided to write this review.
I'll start off with a quick over view of the car.Statistics report that only 3,000 were made. I have not seen this officially reported by VW however. It is reported that 1000 of three colours were made. Red, Black and silver. 500 five door and 500 three door of each colour. So you tend not to see too many around and a lot of people confuse it with the golf GTI
The MK5 ' can also be known as a 6N2,It was only made from 2000 until 2001.
Now for a quick guide to the specification:
Xenon Discharge Headlights with automated washer jets
Red Stitched GTi Steering Wheel
GTi Gearknob
GTi "1" Seats
15mm Lowered Suspension
6CD Changer in the boot
Heated Rear Window/Heater Electric...

Review of Volkswagen Polo GTI
Advantages: Fantastic fuel economy, low CO2 emmissions. Disadvantages: No spare wheel, awkward to adjust front seats.
...I've now had my VW Polo Bluemotion 2 5 door for 4 months, have done over 5,000 miles in it and I'm loving it.
The Bluemotion is VW's eco-friendly range, the Polo was the first of their range to be introduced, but the other main vehicles in the range will/have followed.
It is a company car and I had a choice from a limited range of vehicles. I chose this one as it was the most economically one for my circumstances. VW claim it will do a combined 70.6mpg and 88.1mpg Extra Urban. I drive it mainly on the motorway and regularly get 83mpg out of it, and around 550-600 miles on a tank, which is costing me around the £40 to fill up from empty.
Equipment
All Polo BlueMotion models are fitted ? as standard ? with anti-lock braking, front and side airbags, power steering, electric front and rear windows, electrically...
Advantages: Very fast, flexible and refined Disadvantages: Compromised ride and handling. Grey interior
...As with my last Volkswagen review, their flagship W12 Phaeton saloon, I am not going to pretend that I own or run a Touareg either! However, to my mind there are not that many who do, and even fewer who are likely to write about it in these pages! Therefore hopefully you will find this review of interest from the standpoint of a driver (me!) who drives around 30,000 miles a year; half on business, half for pleasure. I love driving, and am fortunate enough to attend one or two events in a year where I get the chance to drive dozens of different cars.
On a purely personal note, we drive to Eastern Poland twice a year to visit my wife's family. It is a 2500 mile round trip, in the summer a stroll in the park, known to have been done WITHOUT stopping overnight. At Christmas, well there's a real test for any car. Therefore we approach all...
Advantages: Brilliant cars, very helpful head office. Disadvantages: Aftersales and servicing leaves a lot to be desired.
...I am on my second VW and absolutely love the cars. The quality is brilliant and I love driving them. I have had very few problems with my cars, however, I have found the service I have received from the actual dealerships to be very poor.
Firstly, my normal dealer seemed unwilling to arrange for me to test drive the car I was interested in, and actually told me I would have to put down a deposit of £500 for them to order one in for me to drive, and if I didn't like it then my deposit would be refunded! There seems little point in that! In the end I telephoned VW UK who put me in touch with a garage who DID have a demonstrator for the car I was interested in and I bought the car through them.
However, I have to return to the other garage for servicing and aftersales as it is my nearest branch. I have had problems ranging from...

Review of Volkswagen
Advantages: Flexibility - park up anywhere and enjoy the view and open the wine! Disadvantages: City parking, small sink, sits around
...I have had my (second) VW T4, high top campervan for 2 1/2 years now, and I love it. It is an outdoor enthusiast's dream accommodation and can be used in all seasons. I have travelled all over the UK & France in mine and my friends and wife's parents have borrowed it and also love it.
You can get VW T4's in their original fixed, low roof state and convert them yourself, as a friend of mine has. I chose to buy one that was already converted, from a small company near the Dartford Tunnel called 'Country Campers'. I went for the high-top version (as opposed to a low roof or bellows roof) because I am tall and for the extra storage space you get at the front and back. A brand new van with a brand new conversion can cost over £30,000. However, I paid £16,000 for a 'T' Reg van with a brand new conversion. You can pick up decent older...
Advantages: Good selection and price of cars Disadvantages: dont always do a thorough job, let customers down
...I thought I had better edit my review since further dealing with Volkswagen, but have left the original review, as it all still stands.
Volkswagen car dealership in Grimsby has left me very unhappy. I bought my automatic polo from them for £3995. Its W reg, and considering the lack of autos about, and the fact it had only done 55,000 miles, I thought the price wasn't bad. It came with 12 months tax and 10 months MOT, as the MOT had just been done a month and a bit ago.
All in all I was pleased. I had no problems with the car and didn't need to return. That was until I needed to have my MOT done. They did the mOT, told me the parts that failed, adn gave me a very expensive quote for the repairs.
I obtained a quote from a second garage, adn to my amazement, not only was the quote much cheaper, but the VW staff had not...

Review of Volkswagen
Advantages: Stylish control panel Disadvantages: Fundamental design flaw - see review
...This dishwasher (CDA VW80) has a fundamental design flaw. It's not just me saying that, either. The CDA engineer who visited on two occasions to try and repair it, agreed.
The problem? When you close the dishwasher's door, the low profile of the door's inner skin completely traps any food particles, or liquid residue, which has fallen, or dripped, onto the dishwasher floor, where the door meets the main body of the machine.
Consequently, during the wash, this area remains completely sealed off, so when you open the door after the wash has finished, there is an inch-wide line of muck, which you have no choice but to wipe away, after every wash. It's unpleasant, and worse, unhygienic.
You would think that CDA, who should consider themselves lucky that anyone wants to risk half a grand on an unknown make such as theirs, would want...

Review of CDA VW 80
Advantages: Nippy for a small engine size, good handling, good build quality, tons of equipment! Disadvantages: Gearbox bearings can wear between 60 and 80k, pedal box recall, bbs alloys corrode easily.
...wheel and sports seats with either a fabric finish or leather with heated front seats. The car came with a huge variety of equipment as standard including xenon headlights with washers, air con & sunroof or climatronic climate control, heated wing mirrors and a cd player or 6 cd changer (in the boot).
Buying a car of this age, there will be common signs of wear and tear including stone chips to the bumper and bonnet, BBS standard alloys beginning to corrode and the body seams below the rear lights may have cracked slightly. These are nothing to worry about and will be common on most cars that you view.
The car had one recall for a pedal box fault, this was a total recall by VW and if the work has been done, there will be a sticker under the carpet in the boot or in the service book. Alternatively you can give you local dealer a ring...
Advantages: Excellent customer care Disadvantages: No petrol!
...I have now purchased 4 Volkswagens in the last five years and have purchased them all from a variety of VW dealerships.
My last car was purchased in October of this year from Massingberd in Harrogate. Prior to visiting this dealership I had visited several other VW dealers in the area (including the one my previous vehicle has been purchased from) and found Massingberd to be far and away the best garage in terms of customer care and service.
When did I chose Massingberd?
Price:
The price they gave me or my old car and also the reduced price off my new car was excellent and a much better deal than any other dealership. They also threw a free leather bound map book in.
Dealership:
The dealership is a new building which is light and airy and automatically makes you feel relaxed as soon as you walk in. They always have...

...i own a 2004/04 vw sharan 1.9 tdi carat (was top of the range - over £20K new) automatic trans with climate, 6cd, alloys, leather interior bought from a vw dealer in 2005 with just 16,100 miles on the clock with FVWSH & 2 owners.

at approx 20K miles the water pipe that feeds the rear wash wipe decided to come away from the water pump soaking the n/side passenger front foot well.
at approx 37K miles the alternator decided one night to fry itself along with the fuse box and part of the wiring loom - nearly a £800 repair with local vw dealer.
at approx 67K miles the sharan decided to loss power and became dangerous to drive. the vw dealer found the problem. the air mass meter had failed - a £180 repair. 2 days later...
