VW Passat 1.9tdi great family car

Advantages: Great solid reliable family car
Disadvantages: It is very big

...I picked this car as a company car, i currently work as an area sales manager and when i was going through the list of choices i felt this was the best one on the list. The main reason i picked was i had a Passat before which was the old shape and it was a really good, comfortable and reliable family car. I always liked the old Passat but the new one is suberb its even better than the old one. I do about 35000 miles per year and its really comfy on long journeys. It sits great on the motorway and performs well on A and B roads too. Its a solid car and it feels solid, i feel quite safe in it. The SE spec gives you a few more luxuries than the basic spec. Included in this is cruise control, all round electric windows, centre armrest and good looking alloy wheels. I got the 1.9TDI diesel engine which has 105BHP and is quite nippy...

VW Polo Diesel - A great car

Advantages: Easy to drive, economical

...We have had a VW Polo diesel for over 4 years now and can honestly say its been a great car, never let us down and still feels as new now even with almost 65000 miles on the clock. We had it originally in Germany and it was thrashed 100 miles a day up and down the autobahn at around 100 mph and yet still returned an average fuel consumption of 35-40 mpg. When we brought it back to the UK and consequently rarely exceeded 80mph the consumption leapt to 45-50 mpg. ...I bought this when I had my baby as it was apparently the best on the market and I really can't find fault with it at all it has been the most reliable of our baby products and can't rate it highly enough. This car seat is different from others as it is suitable for up to 9 months whilst the majority of others are just up to 6 months. The seat is well padded and has a 'head hugger' so it is safer for newborns. This headhugger can then be removed once your baby is big enough. The straps also can be adjusted once your baby grows so that it is still safe and comfortable. The straps are easy to use- at first they were fiddly but once you have the hang of them then you know what you're doing they're easy! once you have strapped your baby in you then pull on the straps to make them tight so that your baby is safetly in place...

The Bluemotion is VW's eco-friendly range, the Polo was the first of their range to be introduced, but the other main vehicles in the range will/have followed. It is a company car and I had a choice from a limited range of vehicles. I chose this one as it was the most economically one for my circumstances. VW claim it will do a combined 70.6mpg and 88.1mpg Extra Urban. I have had very few problems with my cars, however, I have found the service I have received from the actual dealerships to be very poor. Firstly, my normal dealer seemed unwilling to arrange for me to test drive the car I was interested in, and actually told me I would have to put down a deposit of £500 for them to order one in for me to drive, and if I didn't like it then my deposit would be refunded! There seems little point in that! In the end I telephoned VW UK who put me in touch with a garage who DID have a demonstrator for the car I was interested in and I bought the car through them.
