W810i - Just keeps going...

Advantages: Durable, sleek, easy

...I've had my W810i for over 2 years now and even though I've had upgrades, I've always kept this phone instead (I do have the W850i as my homephone so check out that review!) Though it's looking a little worse for wear, the technology's still up to date and most of it still works fine. I'll go through most of the features but for the full product information - check out the sony ericsson website. Firstly, it's sleek design means that you can put it in your trouser pocket and it doesn't look bizarre, plus it's fairly light compared to others. The screen is large but scratches easily - clarity's great at the beginning but mine got marked by just loose change which now slightly obscures the view. At first, I found the buttons slightly annoying because they're opposite to Nokia - which I was used to, consequently at the beginning...

...Personally, i think this phone is good. It has a well finished, strreamlined cover and is just the right size for your pocket; its not too chunky. The white case can look a bit tacky but the plastic used on the cover is easy to wipe down, and if you take care of it the screen doesnt scatch easy. It is very durable; very suitable for a clumsy person who is liable to drop it!The camera is not the best and the video is a bit dodgy in bright light and when cleaning the case you will have to use something like a cottonbud to clean the lens as it is quite tricky. Great as a walkman - it has a good storage capacity, however it is quite hard to organize your music library and although most of the tunes that came with the phone can be deleted, there is one that is permeanantly locked to the phone and is (so far) impossible to delete. ...the w810 basically is just an advancement on the w800i which it replaces...except the new w810 is so much better. it feels alot more solid and the buttons are alot easier to use. Gone is the awkward joystick for navigation, in its place is a D-Pad which feels so much better and a whole lot nicer to use. The w800 had issues with certain functions, especially with the camera button on the side of the phone which sometimes felt as though you had to belt it with a hammer for it to actually do anything, happily this has been fixed in the w810i. The screen also seems to be a bit clearer, and due to it being a tft screen means its still fairly easy to see whats happening even in bright light such as direct sunlight. call quality is clear with no distortions that can be blamed on anything other than your network provider. i bought my w...

Disadvantages: Screen is exposed and looks as if it could scratch or worse!

My W810i Experience

Advantages: Easy to use, robust, stylish, high quality finish and feel
Disadvantages: Can only use up to a 4GB Memory Card, Internal memory not the highest

Advantages: Excellent for music, good sound & camera quality.

...The new Sony Walkman w810i is a new model in the w800 range, and has numerous changes from its previous model - the w800i. The changes are clear in the design of the new phone, as well as functionality and the software driving the machine.
