sussex stationers, a sucess

Advantages: Cheap, cheerful and crazy prices
Disadvantages: Not enough of them around

...Being a hard up student, i'm always bargin hunting and when Sussex Stationers opened a branch in maidstone i was ecstatic! OK, so it sounds VERY sad, but it was not only interesting, but a life saver too. It opened right in the middle of the high street - oppostie what was Topshop - a perfect spot! When I first saw it, i thought it was going to be another shop like poundland, wth really cheap and tacky things, that were really poor quality, but i was wrong! The front was filled with books, and not just any books, best sellers, releases and recent smash hits! They were up to date and the prices were unbelievable. £1 off, £5 off, and even £10 on some books. There were books that were just half the price of the r.r.p and wh smiths which was great! I'm not exactly a book worm, but i do like to read the odd book, and it's so nice to...

Good old sussex by the sea

Advantages: Varied attractions, beautiful scenery, quiet
Disadvantages: none

...The traditionnal song of Brighton and Hove Albion F.C. and what better way to describe this glorious county. What is even better is that it is not too far from London yet it has none of the smug, dull Home Counties conformity that Surrey or Hertfordshire has. There is a definite distinct Southern English identity different from London and its environs.A warm May weekend spent in the Sussex countryside is a pleasure to wish for dearly in the middle of this cold, bleak January! The attractions are manifold, the rolling, softness of the Downs in summer (and their bleak beauty in Winter), the eclectic alternative nature of Brighton standing side by side with the faded gentility of Eastbourne and the charming old town of Hastings, the charming towns of Arundel, Steyning, Rye and Lewes and the delights of Ashdown Forest and the Weald. Sussex...

EPSON Stylus SX515W - stylish, capable but not perfect

Advantages: Stylish, fast printing, quality output, good range of functions
Disadvantages: A bit noisy, poor manuals

... Introduction We have three computers in the house, one desktop & two laptops which are used wirelessly. Previously, I had a simple low cost printer connected to the desktop. This was fine but in recent months use of the desktop has declined so it has stood unused most of the time. To print it was a case of transfer document to USB stick, switch on desktop, print from USB stick, switch off desktop. What a pain !! I decided enough was enough and after researching the market for multi-function wireless devices I decided to purchase the Epson SX515W as it looked good, had all the features I wanted and was a good price. Installation The salesman advised me to set it up on the desktop initially as it would be hard wired via USB. If you hear this don't let it put you off. The set-up works fine even if you have a single...

Sony W580i A flawed gem?

Advantages: Easy to use, great features in an affordable phone
Disadvantages: Poor quality keypad.

...I bought the Sony Ericson W580i as a gift for my daughters 13th birthday, and she loves it. We got her the pink one which was exclusive to Orange shops, so it had to be on an Orange pay as you go, which caused some problems as they refused to offer the texts deal they were advertising at the time. Anyway onto the phone which my daughter mainly uses to listen to music, and make occasional calls to let us know where she is, and text her friends. All of the basic functions are easy for her to use (if not for us old fogies to use) and the 2.0 megapixel camera is ideal for quick snapshots of her and her friends and sisters when they're doing something silly. It all fell down when the keys started cracking though. After 3 weeks of use the first of the number keys cracked, followed quickly by 2 others. We then had problems with the shop we...

W580i is totaly wicked!!!!

Advantages: Walkman, fitness application and slim and sexy!!!
Disadvantages: battery dos'nt last that long

...The W580i is total wicked I love this phone, I bought it when it first come out like a year ago!! I love my phone it's soooo slick, sexy and slim you can just chuck it in your bag and go and you can just pop it in a small purse on a night out or slip it in your back pocket!! It also looks great. And its not just about the way it looks, who needs an Ipod or MP3 player when you've got this phone you can store all your favorite tunes on here and listen to them wherever you go! Also check this out with Shake control, a song from your playlist is randomly chosen at the flick of your wrist, and it soooo easy to download and transfere all your tunes on to. It also comes with wicked comfy headphones and you can buy really cool speakers to!!! The camera is great too such a clear picture and sooo easy to use and download to your pc...

W580i - Basicly the same as W910i for less!

Advantages: Walkman, Stylish, easy to use
Disadvantages: Battery Life and lack of camera flash

...Hi ,first review so here goes :) ... I bought this phone basicly, because I wanted the Sony W910i, but couldn't afford lol. I picked this up for about 100 quid, (w910i is about 200 quid) and was not expecting much because of the low price. However, having compared it with the W910i, this one does basicly exactly the same, but for half the price. Bargain! I also think that this one actually looks better, although it is perhaps more suited to a female as is not as wide as the w910i, and the buttons are very small even for my little fingers! I have the phone in Urban Grey..first things first it looks very sleek and slim, and I have had lots of comments on how cool it looks. It has LED lights in the sides which change colour when you change the theme - looks great but probably uses more battery than it's worth, as there is no function...

Choose Sussex for variety

Advantages: Whatever you want, you can find it in Brighton (except a football team!)
Disadvantages: ... fog on the downs can get you down(!?)

...I studied at Sussex between 1993 & 1996. I beleive that Sussex can be the choice for almost any student. I read Mathematics (yes, maths and I'm not really mad, honest!) The campus has a variety of types of room (first years only normally) but then you have a wide choice of locations around. The peaceful quiet villages such as Woodingdean or the bright lights of Brighton itself. I regret not getting more into the social scene at an early stage during my stay as some of the friends I chose were not too interested in the night life. In terms of study the lecturers standards varied from absolute nutters to super intelligent (probably) but utterly useless at passing on their knowledge. The IT facilities were pretty good even then and I know that they have developed more facilities. THe sports centre was good, with quite a few things...

Radisson Edwardian Sussex Hotel

Advantages: Location, comfort, friendly
Disadvantages: Small bathroom, minibar prices

...I stayed in the Sussex hotel over Easter and had a great time. The hotel is located about 1 minute from Marble Arch underground station and one block past Selfridges, so if you like to shop this hotel is ideally located for you. It's quite an impressive building from the outside and although the entrance looks pretty none discript, when you walk into reception it turns out to a lovely modern hotel. I was greeted by a very friendly and competent Receptionist, who gave me all the info I needed and checked me into my room with no hassles at all. Security is quite high as you need the key card to move around the building and to work the lifts. The room itself has very modern decor and very comfortable furnishings. The bed is so comfy, by far has to be the best hotel bed I have ever slept in, and I stay away from home quite...

Sussex - for people who really want to learn

Advantages: Great, easy to use library, friendly staff
Disadvantages: Hilly!

...I'm just about to finish my third year at Sussex (In June anyway), and just thought id take this oppertunity to tell everyone else how great it is. I never lived on campus, so i cant tell you much about that side of things, other than East slope is nasty (was only built for the builders to live in and was supposed to be torn down - but now it has a cult status of being the slums of uni) and Lewes court 1 and 2 are the best places to live. Campus is set in the beautiful surroundings of the Sussex downs, and is mostly protected in a nature reserve, so if you dont like the idea of staring out the windows at a city scape, this is the uni for you. There are also vast areas of fields and greenery to enjoy in the summer. Apparantly it is also one of the sunniest campuses in Britain, and i would have to agree that it is a very sunny place...

My Sony Ericsson W580i

Advantages: Thin, Good Memory, Aesthetically pleasing, good value for money.
Disadvantages: Cover is worn quite easily, buttons crack quickly.

...I have had my Sony Ericsson W580i for around 1 and a half years now, after receiving it as a gift from my parents two Christmases ago. The version of the W580i varied to the dark grey and blue one stated in the picture, and was instead a white and orange version, which was bought on a pay and go tariff on o2. I was in desperate need of a new mobile and picked the W580i from the Carphone Warehouse catalogue, as it was aesthetically pleasing and had many advantages over my current mobile; 2mp. Camera, a 512mb memory card, and the new format were also appealing to me. When i first got the phone, i noticed that many of my friends and others i knew had also received the W580i for Christmas - proving it was a popular choice! 17 months on and I?m still using the mobile... Although it is beginning to get a bit dilapidated - possibly due to...
