It's a tidy little phone; with the 180 degree twisting function in 2 directions makes it very stylish! All the files on this phone are transferred using the data cable for the pc, which is provided, or a blue tooth or infrared adapter for you pc. The walkman features the option to create play lists of your favourite songs, view the tracks in alphabetical order or arrange the tracks by artist for separate viewings, say if you wanted to access a certain album. The W550i Deserves a chance!

Advantages: Great Mp3, Loads of memory, great cover.
Disadvantages: No externel memory allowed, not many skins to use.

W550i "Walkman" Phone lives up to expectations!

Advantages: Ease of use, strong build, excellent sound quality (walkman)
Disadvantages: Low internal memory, non upgradeable memory

Sony Ericsson W550i

Advantages: Seems to be an unbreakble phone, no matter how many times I've dropped it.
Disadvantages: Slightly bulky

The phone has a 1.3 mega pixel camera which isn't bad for a phone and you can use the pictures you take as anything, desktop background or screensaver etc. The menu system is very easy to use and has very good shortcuts, even though you can change them yourself, the ones already on there are very useful. The phone also has Bluetooth from which you can receive friends of families tones/songs etc and make them your text, email or ring tone! This isn't possible on some phones. Another great feature of the Sony Ericsson W550i is that it has a long battery life, it can last about 100hrs. Possibly the best feature on the phone is the Walkmann. The songs are of brilliant quality and the phone speaker can go very loud so if you would like you songs can be heard by many people. There is only two downsides to...

Sony Ericsson w550i, simple and easy.

Advantages: Good mp3 player, 1.3 mega pixel camera.
Disadvantages: Crappy original firmware/software, could do with upgrading. Memory needs to be bigger.

...Having bought a job lot of these off ebay I noticed they all share all 1 common fault and that is a software problem. But don't be put off by that it can be soon sorted out by a simple firmware upgrade which is done by using the sony ericsson update service. This phone has a decent mp3 player(expected as it's a walkman phone). It has an internal memory of 256mb so holds about 60 songs. a 1.3 mega pixel camera, and looks very good. You can also get customizable covers. This is an easy phone to use and is a swivel so is really quite compact. This hasn't got an expandable memory so holds a limited ammount of songs, as i mentioned ealier depending on the size of the mp3 file, it holds around 256mb. The battery life is incredible. But as I said before I am a little dissapointed with the main phone firmware/sofware. But it's no reason to turn...

...I have had this mobile phone come mp3 player for 4 months now, and it has been brilliant. I can't really complain about any aspect of the design. One of the main things that i love about the phone is simply the way it looks! It features a rare 'swivel' method to reveal the key pad which has a great feel. This design also feel very strong and sturdy, and mine hasnt snapped in half yet! The design of the phone is quite chunky which may be unsightly to some people, but i personally think it gives a little bit more to love! In reality, its not huge in comparisson to other mobile phones, as the last phone I owned was the p910i, also a Sony Ericsson. I've only had it a few days but....

Advantages: Totally amazing phone, brilliant features
Disadvantages: Awful earphones and the swival action could get annoying

...The time finally came around to get my o2 upgrade this week- I lost my Samsung D500 two weeks ago so I was excited about getting a new phone. I was a little disappointed with the selection of free phones I could choose from but I eventually decided on the Sony Ericsson W550i. I had been a little concerned about the look of the phone - the garish orange covers and weird arial at the top almost put me off - but I'm so glad I wasn't swayed away! Opening the box I found: the phone (obviously), charger, battery, handsfree kit, PC Suite CD, USB data cable, a set of white fascia's and the manual. After fully charging the phone I quickly changed the fascia from orange to white (though not for long as I've bought a pink fascia from eBay to make it a little more girly!!).
