Diamond review  Wagamama - a piece of heaven on earth

Advantages: Cheap, tasty food
Disadvantages: None

...The first time I went to a Wagamama noodle bar I was more or less forced there by a friend who said that she had a 2 for 1 meal voucher which would make it a cheaper evening for two cash strapped students. Even though she was raving about the place I was not convinced when she described it as a canteen style noodle bar...hmmm! It turned out I did not have much choice in the matter however, so we ended up meeting in Camden Town at around 7 on a Friday night. This, might I add, may not be the ideal time or day to go to Camden Town if you are simply after a decent meal, a glass of wine and a chat with a friend. From the outside the restaurant looked very bright and maybe slightly clinical. When we entered we were immediately greeted by a hostess who took us straight to a table even though it seemed very busy. The seating arrangements...

Wagamama Belgian Style

Advantages: Decent Japanese noodles
Disadvantages: Same as the Wagamanas at home

...INTRODUCTION We all know Wagamama in the UK but did you know they've expanded abroad? I bumped into this branch in Antwerp when visiting the city last year and vowed that I would be back to try it another time. My opportunity came this year and here is what happened. WAGAMAMA FOR BEGINNERS After posting this elsewhere I realised you don't all know Wagamama! Well, it's kind of a Japanese noodle bar chain. You get dishes like stir fried rice or noodles or a big bowl of soup with noodles, known as Ramen. And apparently you should slurp such as dish as sucking in oxygen with it makes it taste better. One thing I could recommend is any dish with soba noodles, which are very tasty, thick buckwheat noodles. They also say that dishes arrive when they are ready, which gives them a ready made excuse when your seafood noodles...

Wagamama - Copenhagen

Advantages: Reliable menu - 'atmosphere'
Disadvantages: Slow service, disjointed delivery and noisy

...Wagamama - Tivoli, Copenhagen Having established themselves in the UK over the past 15 years, Wagamama have now begun to spread their wings abroad venturing across Europe and into the United States. The new outlet in Copenhagen has taken a prime site in Tivoli Gardens with entrances from the park and the street outside. I dread to think what the ground rent for such a site would be but Wagamama is a popular, high volume restaurant which is invariably very busy. What is Wagamama? ~ Wagamama serves a mixture Japanese noodle and curry dishes. The menu is pretty much the same in any outlet and the one in Tivoli looked very similar to the ones in Covent Garden and Bloomsbury I've been to in the past. The template for each restaurant is the same and this one is no different. Seating is on long communal benches which you will share...

Is Wagamama's the same down under?

Advantages: Cheap heathly food
Disadvantages: The serive was poor

...Wagamama's first UK restaurant opened in Bloomsbury in1992. At first its restaurants were limited to London and Dublin. However the outlet now boasts 50 UK restaurants. These resturants are not just limited to the UK anymore and the company has 12 resturants in Australia as well. As we are familiar to the chain we have decided to visit a couple of times. The menu given here is from the second visit we have had. So where is Subiaco I hear you ask? Subicao is just a short train/bus ride away from the centre of Perth in Western Australia. Subiaco is a posh bit of Perth and is home to several top bars, resturants and then Wagamama?s which doesn?t quite in this high end market. Subiaco is also home to the Oval where the Aussie Rules football is played. If you ask me this is not a sport and is similar to fight club the film as there are...

Wagamamas - perfect for a quick bite with friends

Advantages: delicious food, veggie options,
Disadvantages: gets very, very busy, you don't get much privacy

...Wagamama's is a pan-asian noodle restaurant chain which opened it's Nottingham branch in 2001 and has since been a resounding success in the city. Situated quite handily in the centre of the city and part of the Cornerhouse complex adjacent to the bars, theatre and cinema it is a frequent haunt for me and my friends. Reasonably good value and excellent food (including veggie choices), i really like it. Unfortunately your first impression can be tainted - unimaginably busy on the weekend and in the evening you can expect to wait up to a good half an hour to be seated, and you will be waiting stood up. However, the waiters do give you a menu to look at whilst you're queuing and you can watch the delicious smelling food being cooked. Once seated you will be sharing a bench with around 10 other people so it can get quite noisy and there...

Oxfords finally got a Wagamama's

Advantages: Cheap, nice, healthy
Disadvantages: The service

...Wagamama's oxford Wagamama's first UK restaurant opened in Bloomsbury in1992. At first its restaurants were limited to London and Dublin. However the outlet now boasts 50 UK restaurants and one of its newest openings is this Oxford restaurant, which opened, in September last year. Wagamama's is located just off the main shopping street of Cornmarket and is handily on the way to the covered market, which is one of the biggest draws for shoppers in Oxford. For anyone who knows the area the restaurant is in the former pub that was Bar Oz. This was a fairly low key opening which no information in the local press and it was that I stumbled upon it whilst going for a baguette in the market at lunchtime did I realise that Oxford finally has a Wagamama's. This is a chain that my girlfriend first introduced me to some time earlier...

Wagamama - A Fun Dining Experience

Advantages: Friendly staff, good value for money
Disadvantages: Cafeteria-style dining may not be everyone's cup of tea

...Wagamama is a trendy Japanese noodle bar, situated a short distance from both major train stations and the bus station. It belongs to the popular chain of restaurant, whose name is apparently derived from the Japanese word for selfish. Even on busy evenings, one never has to wait long to be seated. The seating may put many people off ? patrons sit on long benches, reminiscent of school cafeterias, so it may feel a bit impersonal. But I like it. There are pegs nearby to hand your jacket on, and a shelf beneath the table for women to place their handbags. Toilets are located downstairs. An important matter to note about Wagamama restaurants is that, in the words of the staff, ?the food arrives at different times?. Side dishes, although similar to starters, may arrive before or during the main course. All food arrives as soon as it...

Wagamamas - Yes Please!

Advantages: Fantastic restaurant, quick service, tasty meals at a great price!
Disadvantages: Only if you hate good food.

...Wagamama Wow! If you're in Bath and you're thinking of eating out you absolutely must go to Wagamamas. The food, service and atmosphere is great. It's family friendly too (the provide highchairs and have lots of them, so you wont go without) and caters for everyone. The atmosphere is a strange one to describe because it feels very unique. It's child friendly (also can provide things for kids to do, such as colouring) but if you didn't notice then you wouldn't realise. Everyone sits together and near each other but you're all totally different. Even though there are other diners around you still retain the feeling of just being at your table, almost bubble like. There are couples, families, tourists, friends, business partners and just about every collective you can think of. The reason being that it's not a definable...

Grab a quickie in Soho

Advantages: Great food and taste, efficient, well priced
Disadvantages: Noisy, no privacy, food is served when ready not as complete order

...Wagamama is a Pan-Asian food chain with many outlets across London. It is only a number of these that I have been to so can only comment on them. Wagamama serves a range of Pan-Asian dishes, mostly specialising in noodle dishes but also do salads and rice dishes. Their slogan is positive eating + positive living and in this specialise in natural ingredients and healthy, nutritional food. I am really impressed with Wagamama for the efficiency and quality of their food. If you are looking for a romantic dinner for two, don't come here. In London at least, they were one of the first restaurants to serve food with canteen style seating. They have very long tables and benches, which mean you are sat next to anyone, so don't expect privacy. As such, it can also get very noisy so intimate conversation can be forced. Sweet nothings don...

Review of Wagamama

Is this it?

Advantages: Some dishes sound quite interesting
Disadvantages: Staff not very keen, not wildly imaginative food, limited menu

...*Beware the work outing* In my experience, work outings have a few constants: 1) Your manager will always choose somewhere decidedly middle of the road for fear of alienating anyone 2) If wine is involved there'll always be one person who has too much 3) Splitting the bill will be an industrial undertaking, with confusion, self sacrifice and the collective inability of the group to leave a decent tip When I heard we were going to Wagama I was relatively pleased, as I like Japanese food and had never been to this popular chain. Despite my misgivings I was determined to go along, have fun and ignore the constants stated above! *Wagamama Victoria (London)* The Wagama restaurant in Victoria is well situated on an elevated area of a large office/retail/leisure are just off Victoria Street. It's an attractive modern area if a bit...
