Wahl, what a close shave i had with these...

Advantages: Easy to use, lightweight and trims without tugging
Disadvantages: cutting edges can become a little warm after a while

...If you notice from my profile picture I am lacking a little bit in the hair department, so, to try and hide this fact, I tend to shave what?s left of my hair to a very short length indeed. In the past I have actually shaved my head right to the bone, as they say, using a ?bic? razor to finish the job off, but this was for a good cause and I found the results to be very chilly indeed, (plus my daughter refused to be seen in public with me until it grew back a bit). Anyway, the problem with shaving you head, whilst leaving some hair behind, is finding the right head shavers which will actually cut your hair and not rip out small chunks at a time. ...I run a dog grooming parlour, so feel qualified to post on this subject. I found Wahl clippers to be nicely small, but very heavy. Design is poor - to hold comfortably, your had covers the ventilation slots. This means you either suffer hand ache or rapidly heating blades. Add to that the fact that the attachable combs (flimsy, flexible things) will fall off the unit at the slightest hint of a knot, and you have a recipe for burnt skin on your dog. They come with a tiny tube of blade lube - covered in warnings to keep away from the skin. Also with a woefully inadequate little brush to flick hair out of the blades. This shouldnt happen in a clipper. To my mind its a fire hazard for a start. The clipper is a nice compact size, however, its weight ruins this one plus. Vibration was truly awful, and I have found many dogs...

...I recently purchased this Wahl wide-plate straightener, designed specifically for thick, curly and Afro hair. I am mixed-race, and my many curls have come from my Arab side! I have struggled to find a straightener that will smooth down my hair and straighten it PROPERLY! I have had a few straighteners, and they all left my hair looking a bit straighter, but also quite frizzy. This Wahl one smoothed down my hair, so it totally squished down my curls and waves, exactly what I was looking for! This wahl straightener heats up to 220 oC, it doesnt have variable temperature, but since its designed for people with curly hair, you need it that hot anyway. I have used a variety of hair clippers over the years but once i had my hair trimmed by a wahl-well there was no turning back, compared to others i used wahls have always done a bril job and never broke down in mid job like others i have used. I decided to buy one due to their look, reliability along with the fact every barber id been to used one form of wahl or another. I paid £35, and have more than made that money back in savings on hair cuts. DIY is the way to go. ...I was given my cordless mouse for a birthday present. I work from home data inputting, and my work is mouse-hungry. The work is also desk hungry (involves broadsheet newspapers) and I was always getting tangled up in things. I have quite broad hands, and this is a large, wonderfully ergonomic mouse. I use a small beanbag as a wrist rest, and find the mouse very comfortable for my stints of eight hours or more at my pc. The worst thing is trying to go back to a standard mouse. You fall off the mousemat, run out of space, press the wrong button, and overcompensate your movements. Not something to get used to if you have to change and rely on speed with a standard pattern mouse. Low battery warnings are given with plenty of warning, and the cable of the sensor is long enough to reach from the USB to the top of your desk...
