...The Marriott Waikiki Beach is in a prime location directly adjacent to Wakkiki Beach. Beautiful views and central to the Wakkiki life of Honolulu. If you want a true Hawaii experience then Wakkiki is not for you. Wakkiki is an excellent spot for surfing and lounging on the beach although avoid the sun aroun mid-day and if tehre are no locals surfing dont surf!!! The Marriot itself has spaceous rooms and many have views of the hillside of the sea. There are two places to eat in the Marriot, the restuarant which has a rather limitted menu and is quite expencive and the terrace cafe on the thrid floor. The cafe is next to one of the swimming pools so the fabric seats are often wet and the menu is also limited and again expensive. Super Stay at Sea Shore Sheraton

Advantages: Good location, Friendly staff, Great room, Ocean view was wonderful

...According to my guidebook, there are around 60,000 hotel rooms in the Waikiki district of Honolulu, an area that houses virtually all of the hotels on the island of O'ahu, despite being only two miles in length. Just think about how many hotels that amounts to; there are literally hundreds to chose from, all crammed into a relatively small area of land, and many built like skyscrapers to compensate. Great Location Location Location

Advantages: Everthing you need is in the hotel!
Disadvantages: None - however check on reconstruction work

...What can I say about this hotel - Wonderful!! I went last year with my daughter and all services were outstanding. Room service very speedy and food was delicious, however some meals were on the pricey side, and as the hotel has a few places to eat you'd be better off eating in one of those. Restaurants in the hotel - are the Shore Bird Restaurant & Beach Bar - amazing one of the experiences you have to try - you get to broil your own food (broil? you maybe thiking - I was! well it's similar to Bar-B-Qing but on a hotplate of sorts) first you choose your own food, (mainly fresh local fish) season, and throw on the "broiler". Advantages: great weather, great swimming, great place

...on the carousel. We decided to take a cab to our hotel rather than the cheaper option of the shuttle. It was going on midnight and we just wanted to get to the hotel. It cost about $25 for the cab and the cabbie did the usual trick of taking the tourists to the wrong hotel. ?Sorry, I thought you said The Park Hotel, not the Waikiki Parc Hotel ?, yeah right! Hubby still gave the man a tip though which didn?t go down well with me at all. We checked in, got to our room and crashed. ...We booked to stay at the Ohana Waikiki West through our travel agent as part of our honeymoon package. I had checked out some hotels prior to booking but had not come across this one. We thought we would give it a try as it looked nice in the brochure. However when I got back home and looked it up on the internet I was not looking forward to our stay at all. There were horrer stories about the leanliness of the hotel, the rowdyness of the hotel and the nightmare lift situation. ...I went to Hawaii and stayed in Waikiki which is the tourist area of the main island.Its about a 20 minutes transfer from Honolulu airport to Waikiki and cost about USD25 for a private transfer in a towncar(A posh taxi).Travel is easy around the island by bus.All journeys cost 1 dollar.Make sure you have a 1 dollar note as they dont give change.Bus guides can be bought in the Seven to eleven corner shops for 5 dollars.The number 13 (CHECK BEFORE HAND) is a useful bus running from Waikiki to Pearl Harbour , you have to visit the HSS MISSOURI where so many brave men lost there lives.Admission is free (make sure you pick up a ticket on entry and dont loose it!!)but donations are gratefully accepted.Go early as only about 45 people (We Qed for 2 hours, but lots to see while your waiting)per boat allowed across to the site.First you get...

...I stayed at this hotel during my third trip to Hawaii in 2006. The big plus point to this hotel is the location combined with the value. The hotel is just a very short walk from Waikiki Beach, the shops, restaurants & the beachfront hotels. It has a central location which takes you right into the heart of Waikiki but being on Kuhio Avenue it has great access to The Bus for anyone wanting to explore the island. The hotel also has a recommended Thai restaurant (Keo's) on the ground floor which also does a breakfast menu. There are other options nearby. The hotel itself does not have a real breakfast area. The hotel facilities are good for people using it as base. It has an Outrigger Activities centre to help organise events, a small shop and helpful hotel staff. ...One of the most famous of all the Hawaiian Islands is Oahu. This is the island that most people consider to be Hawaii, probably because most tourists originally visited there before deciding on the quieter islands of Maui and Kauai as their vacation paradises, and mainly and most importantly, Oahu is the home of Pearl Harbor, and on that I need not say more. Wanting to do the normal tourist trek, we stayed at a lovely beach on Waikiki. Now I don?t know what anyone who hasn?t been there thinks Waikiki is, but it is just a small beach area, like any of the named beaches in Hawaii. ...I visited Honolulu Zoo in the summer whilst on Honeymoon in Waikiki. The Zoo is situated at the far end of Waikiki on the way towards Diamond Head. We happened across the zoo after finding adverts in one of the many brochures and fliers you can pick up from the hotels. The Zoo is within easy walking distance of Waikiki hotels and is worth the visit if you have nothing better planned. Unfortunately we chose to go around midday on our first day - jet lag hadn't quite hit us yet so we were wide awake and eager to explore Waikiki. It was a scorching hot day and the animals obviously had better things to do than stare at countless faces visiting them in the zoo. Safe to say they were tucked up in the shade having a nap.
