...The Waldorf Astoria, An iconic, Landmark Hotel. This hotel has been in many films, so....I suppose I should be saying wow. My husband and I visited New York in the February of 2005. I was treated to a stay at the Waldorf Astoria. When we entered the hotel, I was.......blown away. The entrance is plush, extravagant yet elegant, with a pianist playing music, for those that wish to sit and enjoy a drink and just take in their surroundings. The reception area again was stunning. That unfortunately is where the glamour of it all stopped, during our 10 day stay, I lost count of how many times their \"systems were down\". Checking in therefore took an age. When we eventually got our key and were directed to our room, the disapointment set in. The room was shabby, the bathroom, although ornate and I am sure impressive in it\'s time...

Salad Cream

...In my opinion, a salad is just not a salad without a lovely helping of Heinz Salad Cream. When I lived in the United States they did not have salad cream and I really missed it. Of course you could get lots of other lovely, different flavours of salad dressing but none are quite the same as the humble salad cream. It?s the product that famous chef Marco Pierre White once called, ?The Greatest Culinary Invention of the 20th Century,? and Gary Rhodes called, ?A British Classic.? Fresh Salad Leaves All Year Round.(Living Salad)

Advantages: Full of vitamins and the taste is outstanding.
Disadvantages: None unless you have a Persian Cat!

...During the summer my garden is a mass of lettuce and rocket plants. In fact these are so prolific, as I grow them in every available space as salad leaves are a passion of mine. It saves a lot of money and the leaves are fresh and succulent, and there for you to pick any time to add to salads and sandwiches or even to stir fry. As summer fades and gives way to autumn these plants are not as successful outside, as I do not have a greenhouse. I do plant winter varieties, but it's a slow process, and often with hit and miss results. I don't like buying salad leaves in bags, as I don't find they keep for very long, and they are often sprayed with chemicals to preserve their life, and I really prefer to pick my salad leaves fresh from the plants. ...Caesar salad is a very light and healthy type of salad that is made from Romaine lettuce leaves, cheese,caesar salad dressing and also you can put crunchy croutons in too which are included in the Waitrose Caesar salad. I believe caesar salad originates from Italy by an Italian chef who was in Mexico at the time but there are conflicting reports so I'm not sure. You can also add mustard, lemon juice, worchestor sauce, mayonnaise and chicken to add flavour. The cheese that is used for Waitrose's caesar salad is called Parmigiano Reggiano Cheese which is an Italian cheese.
