...Porthmadog, Wales I first went there a few years ago after being recommended to go as the beach close by called Black Rock Sands would be brilliant to take the dogs on. It's brilliant as Black Rock beach is a drive on beach and dogs are welcome all year round on certain parts of the beach. It is kept clean and it's patrolled by lifeguards to looks after everyone and make sure they are safe. The waters clean for a UK beach and warm in the summer. There is a small charge for getting on the beach at holiday seasons but it isn't very much and well worth it for a day on the beach. It's also good late in the evening when everyone else has gone home to just have a drive across the beach. Holidaying in North Wales

Advantages: Beautiful location, fantastic cottages with all amenities
Disadvantages: Just that you need some form of transport

...(an educational holiday) Some years ago my husband and I bought a Rover coach ticket for one week which allowed us to roam around Wales as much as we wanted to; together with the ticket we got a map with all the existing routes in Wales. What we didn't get was a timetable and so we learned our first lesson the hard way, i.e. what discoordination means. If the word doesn't exist, it must be invented. It happened more than once that we wanted to go from A to C via B which was possible according to the map, but got stuck in B, because the one coach which went from B to C hadn't bothered to wait for us, but left an hour or so before our arrival. ...Llandudno is one of the places I managed to enjoy whilst visiting my girlfriend recently in North Wales. Situated by the sea, Llandudno is a delightful coastal town with a number of great attractions that would keep any visitor occupied for days. We decided to take a tram ride up the Great Orne which was a little costly but was worth it as the walk to some of the main attractions was very steep. Half way up, you will find an ancient Copper mine which has been uncovered and preserved allowing us to see how our ancestors mined for copper. This was an interesting attraction which takes around and hour to view and is relatively worthwhile for the cost. Wales....the big country.

Advantages: Great people, great scenery, great atmosphere
Disadvantages: It doesn't snow as much as I thought!

I have been to this area of North Wales on more occasions than I can remember, and each time that I visit even now the magic is still there. GENERAL INFORMATION The Snowdonia National Park Or Eryri as it is known in Welsh was designated a National Park in 1951 when it became the third National Park to be created in England and Wales. Graeanfryn Farm in North Wales - camping and caravanning site

Advantages: Not too far from Portmadog, sandy beaches around 1 mile away, prices quite reasonable
Disadvantages: Toilets/showers could have been a lot cleaner, terrible Welsh weather, not much space on site

...with lots of really nice beaches nearby. Although we had been to the town before, we had never actually visited this particular caravan and camping site. The site is at: Morfa Nefyn Gwynedd North Wales LL53 6YQ The surrounding area is mountainous, very quiet and perfect if you like walking or want to get away from it all. Although the beaches are said on the leaflet to be 1 mile away from the site and we are all good walkers, we found that we would have to drive to get to any good sandy beaches, especially carrying all our belongings that we would want to take to the beach. We also couldn't walk to a shop as there were none nearby, we had to drive to another town by just following the road and finding the nearest shop to buy anything. ...This year I graduated from the university of Wales Aberystwyth and I've been visiting the place for all my life so I thought I'd give a little guide to the town of Aberystwyth. Aberystwyth is a small(ish) coastal town situated in the mid Wales county of Ceredigion and lies in the middle of Cardigan Bay. The town centre lies between three hills with Penglais hill to the East, Constitution to the North and Pendinas to the South. It's known primarily as home to the university but has also long been a popular tourist destination that has several attractions on offer.
