Walt Disney World: miles of fun for everyone!

Advantages: Great theme parks, hotels and weather
Disadvantages: 9 hour flight and almost too much to do!!

...Walt Disney World in Florida is the largest of any of the Disney Parks in the world and covers over 46 square miles!! It consists of: 4 major theme parks (Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney MGM Studios and and the new Animal Kingdom) 3 water parks Over 15 hotels and 1 camp site Dining, leisure and shopping activities. It's such a big place that it would be impossible for me to tell you everything about it, but I'll give a brief background and choose some of my favourite things! Open Your Eyes To The World Of Walt Disney.

...When I was growing up I never had the opportunity to watch Disney films, being the youngest of three my brother always took control of the remote and me and my sister were basically brought up on action films, such as Commando, Warriors and Blood sport to this day I can still remember these films word for word. ...My CIAO screen name should give an indication that although I come from the UK side of the pond, I have some predilection for the Sunshine State. I have spent many happy holidays in and around Walt DisneyWorld (WDW) in Florida. My first visit was back in 1980 and this year will mark my twenty fifth return. During that time I have seen, done and worn most of the T-shirts and have also explored many of the bits that one-time visitors just don't have the time to see and would not think to ask about. This review is something of a retrospective on my part but I also hope that I can pass on a hint or two that may make someone's next trip that little bit more entertaining. FIRST THINGS FIRST. Right Next Door to Disney

...Walt Disney Studios is situated next door to Disneyland Paris. As with Disneyland, you enter through a security tent manned by a handful of security staff that "pretend" to search your bag as you pass through. You then take a minute's walk to the entrance of Walt Disney Studios (which I must say is a little unclear - I wasn't convinced it was the entrance until I got right up close) and put your ticket into the entrance stall to pass through the turnstiles. If you're in a wheelchair or pushing a stroller, you pass your ticket to one of the attendants situated in the booths between the turnstiles and they'll swipe your ticket then let you pass through the booth. If you haven't bought a ticket in advance, you can do so from one of four ticket booths situated just off to the side of the entrance turnstiles. Expect to pay a Disneyland...

Written by Bob Sehlinger and Len Testa this book is produced every year so that it can provide an updated guide to help travellers. This is now in its 23rd year of production which is testament really to how popular it is! The book: The guide is technically a huge paperback that contains information on anything and everything related to Walt Disney world. It also covers the areas that are not Disney owned such as Universal which is obviously slightly misleading judging by the title as I originally bought the one I did because I thought it covered all areas where as this one didn't!
