Advantages: Gripping gameplay

...Gears of War was one of the first third-person shooter games for the Xbox 360. It harbours brilliant graphics, gripping action and an interesting story line. Although the game is a third-person shooter, the gameplay is very tactical. The player has the ability to move in and out of cover by using the A button of the controller. Unlike other games, it only takes moments to get into cover, against walls, pillars and other obstacles. The A button also allows the player to jump walls in order to progress forward. Another great feature to the gameplay of the game is the ability to blind-fire over cover. This means a player can lay down constant fire whilst regenerating health. ...The X-Box 360 is probably the most attractive and entertaining 3rd Generation Console out in stores at the moment. The graphics and sound capabilities are exceptional and the amount of games available is immense. Most of the games for the 360 have online features and games such as Call of Duty 3 and Gears of War have been so successful online, that there have actually been national contests set up for people to play. Although there are a number of features that are needed to make the 360 perfected, such as Wireless Adapters and Headsets, the 360 is definately value for money and the number of 360's sold compared to its rival, the Playstation 3 is exceptional. Advantages: Sexy Looking, Compact, Stylish, Quality Games and Accessories
Disadvantages: A Tad noisy, large power adaptor, games can be expensive

...on - an HD DVD player that retailers at £129.99! Now that is impressive. Xbox live is very good too. Easy to navigate, easy to set up - in fact in my opinion it has to be the easiest console ever to control and believe me I have had all of them. you could wait for the PS3 but the prices on Xbox 360 consoles is falling and now games are too especially if you look at Ebay. Game Recommedations: Gears of War (18) Condemned (18) FEAR (18) Star Wars Lego (3+) Oblivion (15) The only main downsides are the heat - and you need to watch that as the console will shut itself down if it gets too hot - my advice would be to purchase a cooler fan add on as I have and the noise. Advantages: Easy play for youngsters, loads of action and puzzle solving
Disadvantages: Perhaps a bit too easy for adults, but still lots of fun

...I bought this game with our 4 yr old son in mind as he loves watching his dad play Xbox 360, but the usual type of shooting action games his dad likes playing are no way suitable for a 4 year old. This Star Wars Lego game is perfect - I have found alot of the other 3+ age group X-box 360 games are still too difficult for a younger child to play without constant adult help -although the content is suitable for 3+ the controls are too complicated, or the game play to much for them to understand. This Lego game however, has very easy intuitive controls, so the kids don't get bored or frustated because they can't get any further, there is lots of exciting action and excellent puzzle solving to get their minds working, rather than just mindless shooting! ...adictive for a console, and can easily give you 100hours worth of fun if you have multiplayer, how ever, like all xbox 360 games, the fun does die out. Originality The game is very unique, while most of the Shoot em up games are either World war 2, or the future, this one puts you into a world that is... well... as it is now! Only difference is countries are at war :P This is great because it lowers the confusion. The guns are like todays modern world, no 'Laser guns' or '1st Century rocks' involved. Advantages: A twist on the regular Halo Series
Disadvantages: May be disappointing

...I honestly cannot wait for this game to come out. Halo Wars is a real time strategy game, much like the infamous Command & Conquer games made by Electronic Arts. Many of my friends are avid fans of C&C and are simply wetting themselves, waiting for this game to come out. Personally, I think real-time strategy games are fairly boring and I pity them for playing C&C. However, I feel that this game will be an exception to this rule. It features the vehicles and characters from the well known game series Halo, which is the game's real selling point. Advantages: Heartpounding action, great graphics and soundtrack

...If you are looking for a game that not only pushes the boundaries of graphical performance, but also has an addictive storyline and compelling characters, Gears of War is definitely for you. I grabbed this game, as I was looking for something which would demonstrate the graphical abilities of the XBOX 360, and boy was I impressed. Not only were the cutscenes smooth, cinematic and all around impressive, the gameplay itself was fluid, frantic and absolutely sweaty palm addictive! Although the gore is full on, and getting the hang of the controls and ducking for cover, the game is engaging as you play your part in purging the alien incursion. I found the different gun types and grenades interesting and varied, and the only weapon i disliked was the chainsaw attachment, which I saw as gore for gores sake. To sum up, if you like... ...of the initial bugs and faults from the date of release would have been smoothed out in future production. The first day I got home with my new lovely, sexy 360, I set it up and got ready to give it a spin. Setting it up with my HD tv was a doddle, and getting xbox live sorted a piece of cake too. I purchased just one game with the console, Gears Of War. After playing for about 2 hours I got a message "Disc is dirty please clean" or something to that nature. I was horrified, I knew exactly what was happening, and it wasnt a dirty disc. The GPU is placed directly under the 360s disc drive, and the GPU is what gets extremely hot. It doesn't take a genius to figure out what had gone wrong, and is still going wrong for so many users. ...It's fair to say that this is the first real budget game to be released on the Xbox 360, and also the first budget game worth buying. I acquired it for £12.99, second-hand a few weeks ago and It has been keeping Gears of War, Burnout Revenge and Oblivion out of my 360 for the most part. Let's start with the offline play. The first thing you will notice probably is how little options there are. You have tournament mode, exhibition mode and training mode. Training mode has a number of excersies to improve your skill but once you've completed training mode it becomes apparent how limited this game is.
