Disadvantages: Can take many weeks to remove warts - so be patient!

...does involve you having to book in to your local out patients department. Only for adults and children over 6 years old compound W is a viscous (thick), slightly yellow liquid containing: 1. Salicylic acid (derived from the bark of the willow tree!) 2. Acetone (used in nail polish removers) These chemicals work by slowly dissolving the wart over time. You apply a small drop over the wart....cover it and leave then gently rub hard skin from surface of wart and re-apply lotion the next day. If you apply it too quick it dissolves the skin too fast and it may bleed and crack. It cannot be used for warts on the faces as the skin is much to thin here so thus has only limited use. It takes about 2- 3 weeks (sometimes up to 12 weeks depending on location and virus type) to destroy the lesion. Obviously you could wait a few months or years...

...A few years ago I had a few small warts scattered about on the inside of my fingers, so I went off to the chemists to see how I could get rid of them. As a child, my mother would use the sap of a plant she had growing in her garden, that had removed a wart successfully, but she did not live there anymore and now she has flowers instead of vegetables and herbs. ...I happen to suffer from warts on my hands which is most embarrassing; especially since I am a waitress. What is most annoying is that they are in really fiddly places, like in between my fingers, so I can't disguise them with a plaster. A wart is a virus basically and the virus replicates itself so warts are very contagious. I started off with one wart on my hand but from where I have clasped my hands together or rubbed them, they have spread onto my other hand in little clusters. The are raised bumps and have a sort of cauliflower patterning. They don't really hurt, unless I happen to catch them on something. There are loads of types of warts but I am not going to detail them all because if you're interested, you could research it yourself. ...Wartner was first available on the market several years ago. I used it on my daughters verrucas and was amazed at how effective it was. In just one application the verruca turned black and fell out, the treatment was obviously quite painful but the verruca had been very persistant so the result was worth it. I then used it on my husbands verrucas and it was just as effective. When the can became old I threw it away. This year my son and I have verrucas so off to the chemist I went to get more wartner.
