Daz Washing Powder: A standard price for an excellent performance

Advantages: Great scent, good cleaning powder, great price.
Disadvantages: None.

...I am staying at my Mums at present and Daz is the soap powder that she has currently purchased. The box is red, white & blue and stands out on the soap powder shelves as quite a recognisable product. The box has a handy pour spout which you just pull out of one side and this helps to pour the soap powder directly in to the washing machine drawer. The soap powder has a standard fresh, clean scent to it and nothing that I could put my finger on. The box states that it contains enough for 10 washes but my Mum says that she usually makes this last a good 15-20 washes as she rarely has soiled washing or even complete loads as for the most part she lives alone and just has her clothes & bedding to wash. I did not actually measure out a particular amount and just sprinkled it in to the drawer, I would definitely say that I used far less than 10...

persil washing powder pleasant but not good for eczema

Advantages: long lasting smell
Disadvantages: harsh to skin even non-bio verson. too expensive

...on the few times i have used persil i loved the smell. the smell always seemed to last a good few days. unfortunately the product always started my eczema off at first i did not realise it was the washing powder but after a few times of use with other products inbetween i realised it was the problem. also my son who also has sensitive skin had a rash on his face which was were his clothes had been rubbing- tis cleared up when i stopped wasing his clothes in persil. the cleaning power is good- however i would not say it was anything special. i feel it it is also expensive compared to other non leading brands. i would not buy persil again as it is very harsh to sensitive skin and i feel it is too expensive....

Review of Persil Washing Powder

At last the powder Zanussi recommend

Advantages: Fresh smell , clothes exceptionally clean , goes a long way ,better for my machine
Disadvantages: More expensive than some , may be harsh on some fabrics

...*********************************** Now , to date , I have carried on using this product. . I must have been using it a good 5 or 6 weeks and I am about threequartes way down the box . I have found it is very good for not leaving lots of scum in the machine , therefore causing blockages . I do have to buy a fabric conditioner , but then I still used one when using Bold. I have tried on lots of my washing cycles to reduce to 30 degrees and have found for the most part it still cleans really well . However on anything such as a tea towel with a tea stain it has not removed it . I have still had to increase the heat or treat with a spot cleaner first . Neither myself or my husband have found any skin irritation from the powder . The powder does feel though as if it would irritate sensitive skin . If you feel a small amount it leaves a strong scent on your hands...

apple and lime washing powder REALLY ?!!

...I have got 4 children between the ages of 5 and 16, one of them is a girl, so as you can imagine I have washing in abundence ! I have never really taken much notice of the 'NEWER & BETTER CLEANING' washing powders as if the current powder is so great haw can it be improved ?! Well that shows me how wrong I can be. I picked up a box of Bold 2in1 apple blossom and lime zest whilst shopping the other day by mistake. Once home I realised this but had washing to do and carried on and used it. I am so glad that I did. The clean fresh smell that came from the box when I opened it was breathtaking, absolutely georgeous. As it states on the box that it is 2in1 (includes fabric softener), I didnt bother to add any of my usual conditioner. Some 2in1's also need conditioner added I think, even though it says on the box that none is...

Great if you are washing clean clothes!

...Previously I have had great success in changing from my well known brand of washing powder down to a new cheaper brand but when this was not available I decided I would give the Value range box a go as other Value products I have tried have been pretty good. This one really was the exception. ~~THE BOX~~ The powder is very easy to recognise on the shelf, it comes in a big chunky white box which has the well know Value range logo on the top. Disadvantages: Bleaching agents lighten dark clothes.

It's a white box with the words "Tesco value automatic biological washing powder written on it" and the box has part of a picture of a washing machine on it, how thrilling ! This box is hardly likely to catch your eye on the shelf in the supermarket ! What is in it ? ************** The ingredients are:- Phosphates 5 - 15 % Anionic surfacant, non-ionic suficant, soap, oxygen based bleaching agent, CMC (Carboxymethylcellulase). Does it remove stains ? ************************** As I mentioned, this product contains enzymes which dissolve food on clothes better and does help to make them cleaner, but would be unaffective on a boil wash as the enzymes are destroyed by heat.
